A/N: I was going to upload this yesterday, but I got distracted.
Stoick woke up with a crick in his neck. He groaned as he lifted his head up from the floor. While rubbing the back of his neck, he looked down and noticed his son's chest rising and falling. The father smiled and put a hand on top of his child's head. He rubbed his thumb on his son's fuzzy head before he reached for his wife.
"Valka, Val wake up." He put his hand on her shoulder and shook her gently. She groaned and rubbed her eyes with a fist. "He made it,"
"What?" she asked while she tried to open her eyes.
"Hiccup, he made it through the night." Valka opened her eyes and turned over to look at her son. She saw him sleeping and she brushed her fingers on his head to his chin. The child shivered from her touch then relaxed.
"He made it." She marveled lifting her head up to look at her husband. She let out a light laugh and put a hand to her mouth. She felt the tears forming as she laughed softly through her hand. Stoick smiled with her as he picked up his sleeping child from the floor.
"I told you he would make it."
Valka smirked at him; she pulled his face to hers and kissed him. When she pulled away from him, she took her son from her husband's arms and kissed her son on his head. Stoick smiled and got up from the floor. He walked to the door and opened it. The land was white and some roofs were destroyed from the weight of the snow.
Valka walked up to him and saw the houses. She stared with wide eyes seeing people coming out of their houses. Stoick turned to his wife and put a hand on her shoulder. With no words to be spoken, she gave him back his cape that Hiccup was covered in. Stoick put his helmet on and strapped his cap on.
"I'm sorry," he mumbled.
"You're the chief; you have to watch over the people." She stated holding her son closer. Stoick gave her a week smile then kissed her head then his son. He walked down the stairs to help the people as his wife went back inside the house.

Mrs. Jorgenson woke up to find some snow leaking in the cracks of the ceiling. She woke up her husband and they walked out of the house to look at the roof. The top of their house was covered in snow. What they thought was going to be a storm, became a blizzard overnight. "I'm going to have to brush that snow off before I put more wood on it." Shoutlout thought out lout.
"Okay, I'm going to check on the family." She stated before going back inside to get dressed. Once she was ready for the cold, she went to her son's home first. She knocked on the door and her daughter-in-law opened it. Unn greeted her and let her in the home.
"What are you doing here?" she asked shutting the door.
"I wanted to see how you three were doing," Mrs. Jorgenson answered.
"Oh, we're fine, Snotlout is still asleep and Spitelout is getting dressed to brush the snow off the house." Mrs. Jorgenson nodded then saw her son walking out of the bed room.
"Alright, I'll be outside of you need me." Spitelout called out as he buttoned up his coat. He lifted his head up and saw his mother standing by the door. "Mom, what are you doing here?"
"I'm not staying, I was checking to see how you were doing."
"Oh okay, well I better go outside before the roof caves in." Spitelout stepped around his mother and walked out the door.
"Have you checked on Valka and the baby yet?" Unn asked before walking in the bedroom to fetch her son.
"No, not yet, I'm on my way over there."

Valka was lying down on the bed with her son still wrapped up in her vest. She leaned on the headboard and she held him. She heard the snow on the roof settling. She wasn't so sure if she should leave the house. Even though they had the strongest house in the village, that didn't mean that it couldn't fall in.
Valka heard a knock on the door, then her mother's voice asking if she was home. She got up from the bed and opened the door. She let her mother in then put more wood in the fire pit.
"So, how's the little boy?" Mrs. Jorgenson asked looking at the sleeping baby in her daughter's arms.
"He's been sleeping all morning." Valka answered showing her the child. The grandmother took him form her daughter's arms.
"When is Stoick going to do his dedication? I'm sure everyone else wants to see him."
Valka shrugged, "I don't know. Gothi wants us to wait until he's a week old."
"Well, why's that?" she asked looking at her grandson. Valka crossed her arms and looked down at her feet. Mrs. Jorgenson lifted her head up and saw her daughter. "Oh…" she looked back down at her grandson then walked up to her daughter. "Don't worry dear; just try to spend time with him-"
"Mom, I don't want to think about that," Valka snapped.
She just stared at her daughter then handed the baby back to her. "I'm sorry; I was just trying to-"
"I know mom, I guess I'm having a hard time holding my emotions."
"You're a new mom, these things happen." Valka looked up at her mother then sighed. She wrapped her free arm around her mother. She didn't know what would happen to her son, but at least she was getting support from her family.
~oOo~
"Was everyone okay?" Shoutlout asked as they got ready for bed.
"Yes, everyone is fine." She answered while brushing her hair.
"What about Stoick and Valka's son?" he asked pulling his boots off.
"You mean our new grandson? Yes, he's fine, but Valka told me Gothi is giving him a week to live before they can dedicate him."
"It's for the best," He mumbled.
"Excuse me?" she snapped at him putting her hands on her hips.
"Oh come on honey, you don't honestly think he can live."
"That's doesn't matter, Valka is going through a hard time right now. She needs our support right now."
Shoutlout groaned and settled on the bed. "Alright, alright, I'm just being realistic. You don't need to get snappy at me."
"What?!"
"Goodnight," he replied to get out of the argument. Mrs. Jorgenson rolled her eyes and finished getting ready for bed.
A/N: Alright, nothing much to say right now. I'm going to start writing the next chapter today, but I don't know when it will be uploaded.
Have a good day!
