A/N: I was going to post this later, But I changed my mind. I'm currently writing the epilogue, I plan on posting it Friday (June 5th).

Also, down below I explain half of this chapter that's based on a headcanon. So, if you like to read that, just scroll down below :)

A few months later, two marriages were held at Berk. One was the Thorston wedding and the other was the Ingerman wedding. Valka avoided her father at both and tried to talk to Ingrid. Unn was trying to encourage Ingrid to talk to Valka, but nothing seemed to work. Valka gave up trying to get Ingrid to understand, and focused on her son.

Hiccup was now eight months old. Over the months his hair turned from a dark blond to auburn. She was surprised how long his hair grew. Stoick kept telling her that their son would look like her, while she said he's a good mix of the both of them.

While Stoick was out that night, Valka would stay at home with Hiccup. She seemed to enjoy being with her son when nothing crazy was going on. The only time that Valka and Stoick would be with each other, was playing with their son. The two would get overly excited when Hiccup would do something new, especially when he first rolled over across the ground.

While Hiccup was sitting up on the floor playing with his toys, Valka was finishing up her project. Her mother let her borrow her knitting kit to make a new toy. She was finally putting the last touches on the stuffed toy. Once the toy was complete, she knitted her son's name on the side.

"Okay, let's see how much you'll like this one." She said to herself looking at the toy. She put the toy in front of him and let him react to it. Once Hiccup saw the little blue stuffed dragon, he let out a little screech and tossed it away from him. "Well, what was that about?" she picked up the stuffed toy and placed it in front of him again, this time sitting on the floor with him.

Hiccup picked the toy up and lightly threw it again. Valka raised a brow at him then picked up the toy. This time when she placed it in front of him, he threw it then looked up at his mother with a smile. Valka looked at the toy then her son; she gave him a crooked smile and placed her hands on her hips. "Are you making the dragon fly?" she baby talked to him making him laugh again.

Valka sat next to her son after she picked up the toy. She handed him the toy and he threw it again laughing. "Does the dragon fly?" she asked handing the toy back. Hiccup threw it then looked up at his mother. "Yes it does!" she said making her son laugh.

Before the mother and son could continue their game, the battle horn was blown. "Dragon Attack!" she heard someone shouting outside. Valka picked up her son and slipped him in his cradleboard. She opened the door and saw the dragons flying towards their island in the star filled sky.

"I'm sorry son, but I have to do this." She said picking up Hiccup from the ground and putting him in his cradle. She ran outside trying to stop the people attacking the dragons. She saw her husband leading the men as she was trying to stop them. All the men ignored her and followed their chief's order.

She saw a Monstrous Nightmare on the ground and a man raising an axe by its neck. "Stop! You'll only make it worse!" Valka shouted grabbing his arm. The dragon flew away and the man glared down at her before walking away. Valka watched the man walking way, and then she saw something out of the corner of her eye. She turned her head and saw a dragon entering her house destroying the roof; she let out a gasp at the sight. "Hiccup!"

Valka ran up to her house with all her might. She panted opening the door. She grabbed the closest weapon looking at the dragon in front of her. She raised the sword over her head getting ready to strike, but the dragon wasn't harming her son. She watched her son giggling as he touched the dragon's thorn on its wing.

She lightly smiled watching the dragon playing with her son letting him touch its thorn. The dragon must have felt her presence because he turned its head looking at her. When he moved, its wing rocked the cradle making its thorn cut Hiccup's chin. Valka saw her son wailing from the pain, and then she raised the sword up when the dragon started walking towards her.

Then she noticed the dragon's pupils growing as it smiled her. When her back was towards the wall, she lowered her weapon locking eyes with the dragon. She almost felt connected with it, like it knew what she felt about them. Then the trance was interrupted when she saw her reflection with a blade from an axe.

"Valka, run!" Stoick shouted running on the other side of the room. The dragon roared at him then blew its fire at him making a trail of it. Valka run up to it and pulled on its wing.

"No, don't!" she begged the creature. She saw the dragon turning its head towards her. She felt her heart beating fast listing to the crackling of her burning home and her son's screams.

"Hold on!" Stoick shouted before he rolled across the flames to grab his son. The next thing happened like a flash, once he picked up his axe getting ready to strike the beast; it grabbed Valka by her arms. She let out a scream once she felt her feet leaving the floor.

"Stoick!" she cried out once she found herself over her house.

"Valka!" he shouted watching the four winged beast fly off with her.

"Stoick!" she cried out seeing her village under her feet.

Stoick lowered his axe watching his wife getting smaller. "Valka," he muttered looking up at the night sky through the fire. He heard his son letting out a whimper watching his mother getting taken away.

Valka felt the cold air hitting her face as the dragon flew. She noticed the other dragons were flying in a different direction then she was. She felt her heart pounding fearing what this dragon was going to do. Then she saw something reflecting off the ocean, she saw something that looked like a spiky iceberg.

When they got closer, she noticed the ice was sitting on top of a mountain. The dragon flew in an opening the mysterious mountain. Valka was surrounded by darkness when they entered the mountain. Then the dragon released her and she fell on rocky ground.

She looked around her and saw the dragon sitting next to her. She scooted away from it holding her hand out trying to get away. The dragon kept walking towards her to sniff her. When she felt her back hitting the rocky wall, she pulled her knees to her chest feeling her heart pounding. She watched the dragon's nose bouncing up and down smelling her face.

She turned her head squeezing her eyes shut waiting for it to burn her. She reaches out her hand hoping it would back up. Then she felt scales on her palm and she flinched at the touch. She opened her eyes and turned her head to find the dragon's nose resting on her hand.

Meanwhile at Berk, the villagers put out the fire at the chief's home. Gobber ran up to his chief who kept looking around the house with his son in his arms. Gobber put a hand on his friend's shoulder as they heard more footsteps running towards them. The door swung open and the Jorgenson family ran in the house.

Mrs. Jorgenson ran at Stoick and hit his arm screaming at him. Spitelout pulled his mother away yelling at her to stop. "It took my daughter! And you're just standing there?! Why didn't you help her!? She would still be here if you killed that monster!" she screamed at him trying to pry her son's arms off.

"Mom, stop!" he shouted at her. She let out one last scream before the hot tears went down her face. Spitelout let her go and she fell to the ground crying on the floor. Stoick stared at the weeping woman and walked away from her. Unn stood in shock at the sight. They heard more footsteps and Unn felt a hand on her shoulder. She turned her head and saw Ingrid.

Without saying anything, Unn slowly nodded and Ingrid hung her head down. Ingrid stepped around the Jorgensons and stood in front of them. "Sir, I know this isn't the right time, but I need to say this." Stoick kept his back towards her, but she saw him nod to let her continue. "I have treated Valka horrible when she told me about the law change. Now I can't apologize for my behavior."

"Nobody cares!" Mrs. Jorgenson shouted looking up at her. "My daughter is gone! No one can fix anything!"

Ingrid ignored her and took a step closer. "Sir, I know Valka wouldn't want you to blame yourself. Dragons are dangerous beasts; all they know is to kill. Your son is still alive and a part of her, let us help you care for him."

Gobber patted Stoick's back and looked at the baby. "She's right Stoick; we can pitch in to help you with Hiccup."

"No," he mumbled making Gobber take a step a back.

"No? But Stoick-"

"No one is going to help me raise my son until I say so. I want every boat and ship out in the ocean looking for that four winged beast. I want them all found and dead! I want them to pay for what they have done!" he shouted making his son cry. The others nodded and they ran out yelling at everyone to get on a boat. Shoutlout helped his wife get up from the floor.

Stoick was about to walk out of the house, but he felt something lumpy under his boot. He moved his foot and saw a little toy that his wife must have made. He felt a lump in his throat picking up the toy. Then he heard his son screaming looking at it. Stoick put the toy away and tried to calm him down.

Valka walked around the mountain and found an opening. She saw the tunnel leading to a beautiful oasis with dragons flying around. She looked around in awe seeing dragons in their habitat. Then she saw a large white beast with a pair of tusks on the side of its face resting in the waters down below.

She saw the giant dragon opening its eyes and raising its head looking up at her. She took a step back when it was getting up to look at her. She never felt so small looking at the dragon before her. She then saw the dragon pucker its lips. She felt a cold wind hit her and her hair and fur clothing was covered in frost. Valka's mouth gaped open; she never thought that a dragon could breathe ice.

As she brushed the frost off of her, she saw the four winged dragon that took her. As much as she wanted to be with her family, how could she? She couldn't kill a dragon. Even if she got away, who says that it wouldn't' happen again? If she couldn't kill dragons, then she couldn't keep her son safe when Stoick was out. She should just stay here so her son would be protected by Stoick. Even though he'd be raised to be a dragon killer, at least he'd be safe from her mistakes.

A/N: This chapter was based on a headcanon I had about that little dragon toy. For those who don't watch the TV series, Stoick said Hiccup was terrified by the toy that his mother made when he was a baby and that he threw it in the sea.

I like to think Hiccup didn't always see the toy that way, because he wasn't scared of Cloudjumper until he cut him and took Valka. So maybe Stoick never saw his son play with it because he was working in the village, so he assumed that Hiccup was always scared of it. So now every time Hiccup saw the toy, he always remembered his mother being taken.

I also like to think he threw the toy in the sea because he thought his mother would come back to retrieve it, like she did when they would play.
