THE SALVATORE SISTER - CHAPTER TWO - MISSING YOU
While she looked outside the window of her bedroom, she let out a deep sigh. She could see Miss Pierce and Stefan talking to each other in the gardens.
It was 1864 and Miss Katherine Pierce had arrived in Mystic Falls. Violette had heard a lot of things about Miss Pierce, but she never had the honor to meet her, not yet. Damon was fighting for the army. Violette was proud of him fighting for her and everyone he cared about, but she missed him. She wanted him to go back to her and keep her company. She felt lonely. Stefan wasn't home most of the time. He was with Miss Pierce. Their father was more grumpier then ever and Violette could feel it.
Violette walked away from the window and sat down on her bed, grabbing her doll from the bed. She stroked the brown hair of the doll as she talked to her doll. ''At least I have you.'', she whispered to her doll. Violette could hear voices raising from down stairs. One of them was her father, but she wasn't sure about the other voice. It was a familiar one. They were arguing that was for sure. Whenever something like this happened, Violette made sure she stayed away. She didn't want to be part of it, never.
Suddenly the voices got silent. The next thing she heard was footsteps on the stairs. Someone was walking upstairs in a hurry. Footsteps were coming closer to her bedroom. They stopped and she could see someone opening the door. Violette nervously swallowed. She hoped it wouldn't be her father, not when he was just arguing with someone downstairs.
When the door opened she saw the familiar face she hadn't seen in weeks. It was him, he was back. Violette dropped her doll down on the bed as he walked to her and hugged her. He kissed her cheek as he lifted her from the bed. ''I missed you Vio!'', he said with a smile. Violette chuckled and nodded. Damon was finally back.
A couple of days later Damon was all caught up in Miss Pierce. Violette didn't see him as much as before he went off to fight in the army. Violette could feel somethings were changing. A lot of founding members came over, mostly in the evening and they would talk, about things Violette didn't understand. She tried not to get caught up with it. Her father didn't want her around when the founding members came over.
Before she walked downstairs, she grabbed her doll and took her doll with her. She started to notice ever since Damon left, she always took her doll with her. She walked pass the study room where she could see her father pacing around. Obviously something was on his mind. Violette stopped walking and knocked on his door. He quit pacing around and looked at her. Waiting for her explanation to bother him. ''Something wrong?'', she asked with a soft voice.
Her father mumbled something she couldn't hear. Probably about how he hated it when she spoke softly. He rushed frustrated a hand through his hair and took the bottle of whiskey from the desk and took a large sip. Now she noticed. He was drunk. He placed the bottle down and her eyes noticed another empty bottle of bourbon on his desk. Suddenly he started to shout at her. ''It's all your fault!'', he started. Violette wanted to leave, to run away but she didn't dare to move. ''You killed her. If you wouldn't be here, she would be alive!'', he shouted. Violette always hated his outbursts. Why wasn't she like Stefan in her father's eyes. She wanted to be his perfect daughter, she tried to. She always give her best at home and at school, but for her father it wasn't good enough. In his eyes she had failed him.
Suddenly he grabbed her by her shoulders and shaked her. ''You're a failure! A mistake!'', he shouted in her face. His grip on her shoulders was strong, Violette was sure it would leave some marks. He let go of her when their eyes met. They had the same cold blue eyes. ''You probably have no idea where I'm talking about.'', he said as he turned his back to her.
Even through he had let go of her, Violette still didn't dare to move. ''You killed her! Your own mother!'', he spat out to her. He turned toward her again and faced her. ''I-I'm s-s-sorry I didn't m-mean to.'', Violette softly said. Then again he screamed something at her again, Violette couldn't hear it, but then she heard a loud smack and her cheek started to hurt. She took a step back, afraid of her father's next move. Before she had the chance to lay her hand on her cheek, his fist met her cheek again and her body met the floor. Before he could hit her again, Stefan walked in.
Stefan could see his baby sister laying on the ground, her lip split and her cheeks red. He didn't need to ask what just had happened. He gave his father a look, but his father ignored him and walked over to his desk. He watched how his father sat down and took a few more sips of the bottle of whiskey. He turned to his baby sister and kneeled down next to her. He could see she was still in shock. He lifted her up in his arms and took her to her bedroom.
After he laid her down on her bed, he started to take care of her wounds. ''You'll have some bruises tomorrow.'', he told her. Violette wasn't surprised by that. ''You can't tell anyone Violette. Just act like nothing happened.'', he said as he cleaned some blood of her face. Violette didn't respond. She didn't want anyone to know.
When he was done with taking care of her wounds, he looked at her. ''Are you okay little one?'', he asked. Violette nodded in reply. She just wanted to be alone for now. ''Okay.'', he said before he left the room. She grabbed her doll and hugged it close. She laid down and started to cry.
That same evening Damon found her in the garden. He had heard what had happened that afternoon. He felt sorry for her. He wished he would have been there for her, to protect her. But he was out with Katherine. He could see her sitting on the swing on her own. He walked over to her and he noticed she was holding her doll on her lap. ''Hey.'', he said with a weak voice.
Violette looked at him, but ignored him. She looked down, to her doll. Her cheek was hurting, it was getting darker and darker. Tomorrow there would be a dark colored bruise on her cheek. ''What happened Vio? Are you okay?'', he said as he could see the mark on her cheek. Violette looked at him, right into his eyes. Somehow she was mad on him, where was he when she needed him? He was always there for her, but since Miss Katherine appeared things had changed. ''You weren't there for me!'', she said on a harsh tone. She crossed her arm over each other and ignored his look on her. ''I'm sorry Vio, I was with Miss Pierce. You knew that.'', he explained. Violette shrugged it off and contuined to ignore him. ''I know I should have been there for you. I regret it, I'm so sorry Vio. I'm sorry this happened to you.'', he told her.
Violette sighed and bite down her lip. She could feel her eyes become watery. She didn't want to cry, she had to be strong, she was a big girl now. ''What did I do wrong? Why doesn't he like me?'', she asked as she looked into his eyes, waiting for his reply. When she asked he didn't looked at her. He knew the answer, hell he always had known. But he didn't want to tell her. The truth was horrible. ''In his eyes you killed our mother.'', he said as he looked at her again.
