Who Needs Pictures

A selection of Wincest drabbles inspired by my favourite country artist, Brad Paisley

"I swear you would think it was only yesterday

'Cause I can still see everything just fine

Who needs pictures

With a memory like mine?"

Most people, upon the death of a loved one, would seek solace in old pictures and memorabilia. Sam didn't have that luxury. When Dean went to hell he left behind only two things that really belonged to him – his car and his brother.

There were certainly no photographs; they'd never found the time. They weren't the sort of people to pose for a birthday and they were never invited to weddings. It had been years since they had had a picture taken – John had never carried a camera on the road and any photos their Mom had snapped were probably destroyed in the fire all those years ago. Sam did treasure the few that had been rescued and returned to them from the basement, but there was nothing remotely recent.

Not that Sam needed pictures; Dean was there enough without them. Sam could see him every time on of Dean's rock metal tapes played in the Impala, he could see Dean whenever he killed his latest monster: his brother would be alongside, likewise covered in blood, and making some highly inappropriate quip. Always.

He had to forget Dean when ordering single bed rooms or dinner for one. He tried to forget Dean in the night when the world was dark and Sam thought he could hear screams rising from the depths of hell.

And through it all, there was one thing he couldn't get out of his head: his big brother ripped to shreds by hell hounds.

That was the picture his memory would never let him forget.
