Chapter 13: Birthday Surprises

The next day Chloe cracked open her lids and her eyes took in the familiar sight of her bedroom at the manor. She smiled when she thought about the night before stretching, and smiling when she thought about the feeling of Lex's lips on hers she shook off the shivers that had begun to take up residence in her spine. She smiled again, and threw off the covers and got out of bed. She padded to the kitchen knowing Lex would eat in at the small island instead of at his monumental dining room table. When she entered the room the small of eggs, bacon, and pancakes were all around the large kitchen. Lex had his bare back to her only in his sweat pants, and though she had seen him without his shirt before this her heart skipped a few beats this time, and she couldn't beat the down the blush that was rising to her face. He was holding Alex while he flipped a pancake. "Oh buddy I can't wait to take you to Harry Potter Word, and Disney World, and Cedar Point, and all of the six flags, and every Disney affiliated theme parks on this planet." He said rocking side to side, and Chloe smiled widely walking over to him, and gently placed her hand onto his shoulder, reached up, and kissed his cheek. Then he handed Alex to Chloe, so she could put him in his high chair. Then took all the food off the burners, and divided it up between the both of them giving Alex a little bit of everything, "I didn't know you could make pancakes." She said sitting down to her food.

"I actually can't I looked at a video on YouTube, and went with what I saw so be cautious please. Oh Chloe I wanted to remind you that Alex's Birthday at the zoo is on Saturday, and I would love for you to attend" Chloe looked at the fluffy golden dough, and then tentatively cut a small piece of it, dipped it into the syrup, and bit into it, the rich

familiar taste of pancakes exploded onto her tongue. "Mmmm, that's really good Lex, and of course I'll go I am his aunt after all" She said, and she missed the sour look on Lex's face when he heard Chloe's title for herself when it came to his son. Lex had to readjust himself in his chair, and clear his throat to mask his expression. Then she took another bite, and a pleased whimper escaped her throat. Then she tried to feed a few pieces to Alex, but he had a look on his face that clearly told Chloe that the toddler thought that the reporter had gone insane in the last twelve hours, and then threw the piece of pancake, and it landed in her hair. Alex burst into intense giggles clapping his hands proudly. Chloe was so surprised that for once she was speechless. Lex tried to keep himself from laughing as hard as his son, and he failed miserably, and his laughter shook her out of her shock, and then a mischievous look stole across her face; then she took a piece of her pancake, placed it upon her fork, turned the utensil towards Lex, pulled the fork back, and let the sticky dough fly through the air; and it hit him between the eyes, and it was Lex's turn to be stunned into silence. Alex then just laughed harder. That broke Lex out of his silence, and he began to laugh softly, but it slowly grew into full blown guffaws. This caused Chloe to laugh more as well. After several minutes they calmed down, and they finished their breakfast in companionable silence, except for the occasional gurgling from the baby in his highchair. After their morning meal Chloe whipped her mouth, then Alex's mouth, and hands; he had gotten himself quite sticky, and she tsked jokingly, "Looks like daddy's gonna have to give you a bath. With that she handed the baby to Lex, kissed Lex's forehead, and the baby's before proceeding upstairs to get ready for the day. As Lex watched her walk away, he waited until she was around the corner then he turned to Alex and said, "That woman will be your mommy one day." Then he stood up to proceed to get the sticky child ready for the day.

The week passed slowly for both Lex and Chloe, yet despite its sluggishness they were both very busy, Lex with his final preparations for his son's first birthday while managing his business, and Chloe finishing up several articles with the hopes of ascending to a less subterranean floor of the Daily Planet because despite the two stories she did on Lex's behalf she was still a lowly intern in the basement of the daily planet, thankfully on the top floor of the basement intern, but still she'd like to have a window or be able to look out of at least. Yet despite this they were both excited for Alex's birthday. Lex had arranged for two cakes, one was huge for the guests, and the other was a small cake just a huge cupcake really, this was for Alex so he could smash it and be as messy and picture perfect as possible.

When the day of the party arrived Chloe walked to the elephant enclosure, and when she saw Lex her heart stuttered and her breath was caught in her throat. The sun was shining on them both, and bathing them both in a golden light. They were beautiful, and Chloe had come to the realization that she had crashed into love with the bald billionaire, and the infant that was petting the truck of an elephant with reverence. She swallowed her fear that came with the sudden revelation, and wandered up to them When Alex noticed her he clapped his little hands, and reached out for her, and Lex looked up from his son, and handed him to her immediately dropping a kiss onto her hair. Martha Kent setting up the picnic tables for the day looked up, and smiled softly when she saw the display of affection the billionaire gave the journalist. "Hey you made it." Lex told her watching her rock from side to side as Alex patted the Elephant's trunk gently.

"Of course I made it It's our little man's very first birthday" She said, and took a breath.

"Speaking of our little man I filed the adoption papers, and I spoke to my lawyer, and asked if he could expedite the process." Lex said as he placed his hand on her hip, and pulled them a bit closer. He could feel the warmth of her body. He wanted to feel her warmth even closer, and in a clothing optional situation, but he couldn't do that right now. He shook off the shiver that was threatening to race up his spine as he thought of her in his bed, and . "Lex you didn't have to do that we could've waited the normal waiting period."

"I know that I just wanted to make this official as soon as possible." They shared a smile, and focused on the small child that brought them together. Soon it was time for the pizza that Lex provided for the party. as they sat down Alex was in between the both of them Lionel on Lex's other side, and the Kent's on Chloe's Lois sat across from them. "So cue ball how much this set you back anyway, I mean not everyone can pet endangered species." She slammed two pieces of pizza onto her plate, and took a big bite out of it.

"Lois." Chloe admonished.

"Well Lois I donated enough money for their reparations, and new exhibits." He said with a small grin on his face. resting his arm on the back of his son's and Chloe's chair. running his fingers up and down the length of her back. "Cool beans" Lois said her mouth still slightly full.

The party began to wind down as presents were opened mostly elephant themed toys and clothing, and cake was eaten Alex smashing his cupcake to bits, and covering most of himself, and Lex in icing. After all the pictured were taken, and all the leftovers divided, Lois taking most of the pizza.

Chloe was about to explode, and Lex was going to be her detonator. He had found reasons to touch her since she had gotten there, and though she did not mind; she now was aching for him to touch her in a less than platonic fashion. However she was also very tired from the days events, and knew that Lex probably was too; which was why she offered to help him with Alex, and all the gifts. She followed him back to his house, and helped him carry in Alex, and the rest of the gifts. Alex was being a bit fussy because he had to take a bath, and they woke him for that event. they placed him in his infant tub that was in the real tub in Lex's bathroom. Alex was being rather difficult, and squirming in the plastic contraption. Chloe however took it in stride, and simply hummed soothingly to the wriggling baby. Lex found himself watching her, and his heart raced. God he wanted this woman. She was done washing him, and lifting him out of the tub he flailed his legs, and half the tub splashed onto Chloe, and Lex quickly grabbed Alex, "I'll take him, and put him to bed feel free to borrow a shirt." He quickly left the room not wanting to stare at her now see through tank top and the bra that did not disguise the outline of her nipples, and his whole body tightened. He quickly his son dressed in a diaper, and a onesie; he was asleep already. He entered the room after knocking, and he did not wait for an answer. She was topless, and shivering. She was trying to dry her arms with a towel, and they both froze. and then they crashed together. His lips were on hers, and they fought for dominance. He picked her up, and placed her on the dresser that she'd been next too, as she yanked at the buttons on his shirt. He moved from her lips to her throat biting down leaving his mark, and laving it with his tongue. her gasp made his hips jerk into her. She finally got his shirt off. "God" the tone was guttural, and she ran her nails over his head. She wrapped her legs around his hips, and he placed his hands under her butt, and picked her up taking over to the bed, and began to trail kisses down her body. his hand cupped one breast, and his thumb and forefinger pulled at her nipple; while his mouth covered her other nipple. biting gently. Chloe moaned, and bit her lip. gripping his shoulders. her skin tingling, and burning where his lips touch. her belly filling with warmth. Lex's other hand undid her pants deftly, and began to yank them off. Chloe lifted her hips, and he slid her pants off along with her panties. he plants kisses down her abdomen, and gripping her hips to stop her from squirming beneath him. He nipped his way down to her thigh, and he bit down on her inner thigh; causing Chloe to grip the sheets, and keened desparately. "Please Lex." He smirked against her thigh ,and he could feel her heat, and smell her arousal. He then placed his tongue directly on her clit. When Lex did that Chloe yelped, and melted onto the bed; any coherent thought she had vanished. She throbbed, and writhed onto the bed under Lex's dutiful ministrations. Then his index finger slipped into her, and pumped in and out slowly. "Mmm Faster please Lex I need more." He angled his finger up, and went faster. Chloe's vision turned white, and she screamed Lex's name. as she came fiercely thunderously. He slowed down his chest filling with smug satisfaction. Then he throbbed. He crawled up the bed, and admired the woman still quivering beneath him. He wanted her there forever. he quickly slipped off his pants, and reached into the bedside table, and pulled out a condom. slipping it on he settled between her thighs. "Chloe?" he whispered questioning wanting to make sure. She angled her hips up, and grabbed his hips pulling him onto her, and he slid inside her easily. she stretched to accomodate him, and her tightness pulled him into her further, and he buried his head into the crook of neck, and moaned. He began to thrust his hips shallowly into her, and nipped a her neck before looking into her eyes. There eyes locked and he sped up his thrusts. sweat covered their bodies, and her nails dug into his back hard enough to nearly draw blood. their mouths melded together; as they tumbled over the edge of bliss as one. Lex collapsed next to Chloe as the last tremors of their orgasms subsided. He looked at her, body flushed and sated, and a sense of pride swelled in his chest. "So I have to ask Chloe and if I offend I apologize, but was I better than Clark." The amused grin he sported made Chloe bark out a laugh to euphoric to be offended. but then a somber expression settled over her features, and she said. "I never slept with Clark Lex."

"But you guys were together for a while."

"Oh trust me it wasn;t me with the hang ups. I wanted him, but he said that he'd made a mistake rushing things with Lana, and didn't want to make the same mistakes with me." She sighed, but then grinned back at him. "Was I better than Lana?"

"Oh God yes. She was ugh." he finished, then he thought about it. "Then wait if you and Clark never then who? I mean I wasn't..." He trailed off, and Chloe giggled a little at his perplexed facial expression.

"My my who'd've thought it would have been me that made Lex Luthor tongue tied. No Lex you weren't my first, but were by far the best." she smiled at him, and leaned over to kiss his lips. The kiss was slow and languid. different from the frenzy that was moments ago, but still enough to make both their hearts race. When they broke apart Chloe let out a big yawn, and rolled onto her back, and they both drifted off to sleep.
