"Man, morning already?" Ed groaned stretching his arms before rubbing his sore shoulder. "Man this thing" he said as he looked out the window "The weather's becoming colder I can feel it" he said "and that mean something is coming that I won't like" Ed said before getting out of bed "Not to mention I HATE SCHOOL!" he shouted. "Ed breakfast" his mother said.
"And this is why I hate school, the cultural festival is only a week away and it has driven the school crazy with all the prep, so things are even more hectic than usual" Ed said as he slammed his shoe locker before avoiding the students. "So what will my class be doing this year; class 1-D refreshments. This is going to be painful" Ed groaned entering class and taking his seat "I'm pleased to announced we have passed all health inspection and we have permission to go ahead with our rice ball stand" Yuki said a little too chipper for Ed's taste while managing to grab his attention. "All we have to do now is select which flavour of rice ball we're going to make and sell" Yuki said 'Rice balls huh, funny our some things keep popping up' Tohru thought 'Now why do I get the feeling that good old Kyo will want to turn this into some kind of fight?' Ed thought holding a note up to Uo who nodded before doing the same thing "What if we tried making three flavour rice ball?" Tohru asked "We can use three different ingredients, so it'll be like getting three rice balls in one" Tohru said making Ed agree "What a fine idea" Yuki replied "Blech, what a disgusting idea don't you mean, Now way!" a fan girl of Yuki's said.
Suddenly a pole and a sword was embedded in the desk of the fangirl "I'm sorry did you say something" Uo said "yeah we didn't quite hear you" Ed said "That's disgusting?" The fangirl whimpered "It couldn't be any more sickening than your crappy attitude, right?" Uo growled "Don't they have rules against weapons in classrooms" the fangirl asked. "I have a permit remember?" Ed said grinning. "I think we should have a rice ball battle" Kyo said "A battle?" a random student said as Ed handed his money over to Uo who graciously took it. "A one on one single round nor holds bar match; and if things get bloody, they have to fight for the prize rice balls" Kyo said "A little excessive there pal" Ed said looking dumbfounded how Kyo could think something like that was a good idea. "Hey I got an Idea" Ed said "And what is that?" Yuki asked. "The good old, Hit or Miss Riceball roulette" Ed said "Riceball roulette?" Tohru asked. "Yep; you get three spins and whatever riceball lands in front of you at each turn, is the one you get" Ed said "And of course we'll mix in some misses which we can make with some strange ingredients or something, or we can have the basic Hit and Miss mix" Yuki said making Ed nod. The whole class thought that was a good idea, expect for Kyo making Ed lose more money to Uo.
Yuki observed Kyo interacting with his fellow students 'Good looks like Kyo's lightening up" Ed thought "I have a student council meeting that I must attend; if you wouldn't mind handling the final details?" Yuki said to his assistant "Sure you can leave it to me" the girl said as Yuki left. "There was still something I wanted to ask him" a student said "Well I better be off as well" Ed said getting up "Another appointment with Dr Hawkeye?" Tohru asked "You know it" Ed said before pausing "Aw look" a student said as she revealed Kyo covered in kitten. This made Yuki and Tohru freeze up "Yeah time to go" Ed said walking out of the class as a commotion was made about the cats.
"Come in Edward" Dr Hawkeye said placing her cup of tea down on her desk "Hey Doc" Ed said entering and taking a seat "No sword today?" Hawkeye asked. "Nah, I'm sure as it doesn't leave the girls' sight it should be fine" Ed said "I receive an interesting bit of news from our mutual friend Captain Mustang" Hawkeye said "And what's that?" Ed asked. "Something about an investigation of family negligence at the Honda household" Hawkeye said "What could you possibly mean doc" Ed said shrugging "You went there to rescue Tohru and bring her back home, but you threatened one of them with and I quote: "Say anything like that again about Tohru and I will slap the stupid off you face you ugly bastard' and then you said: And then if you do it again, say goodbye to parenthood" Hawkeye stated "Oh come on since when have I come through on a threat?" Edward asked as Hawkeye skimmed backwards "Does a Ling Yao bring back memories?" the doctor asked 'Maybe I should have stayed with Kyo' Ed thought.
Kyo was laying on the roof minding his own business when "I was right" a delicate voice said shocking him before the source of the voice revealed herself to be Tohru, the girl that invaded Kyo dreams some nights; "I had a feeling you'd be up here" Tohru said finishing the ladder climb. "Whenever I need to find you I just have to search for the highest place" she said "What is it with you and sneaking up on me?" Kyo asked a little harshly "Hello Mister Cat Aren't you cute?" she asked the white cat she was holding "These cats sure do like you don't they?" Tohru asked. "Yeah, just don't ask me why they show up on their own accord" Kyo said "Same for rats with Yuki and dogs with Shigure." Kyo said. "Well it must be fun" Tohru said "It's not; once while on a walk with Kagura we got surround by Hungry Boars and I thought I was going to be their dinner, anyway what do you want?" Kyo ranted. "Nothing really, I was just worried about you" Tohru said softly "You were upset when you left the classroom, don't you want to help prepare for the festival?" she asked still holding the cat.
"Why do they need me when they have Yuki?" Kyo asked bitterly looking up at the clear blue sky "Nobody's going to miss me, they'll all too busy looking to Yuki, it's always been like that from the time we were kids. He was the one with the smarts, the one who know how to do things and he good with people and everybody always tells him that he is talented and shit like that. They look up to him and he doesn't have to try, even with martial arts I've been doing them longer and he still beats me at it" Kyo said flashing back to childhood when the two were compared "It makes me sick, I mean what do I have to be like him" Kyo growled 'Kyo' Tohru thought remembering something Yuki said to her about the ginger ', when first meets someone he's shy, but over time he opens up and he can be himself, because of what he is, the zodiac will never accept him, so isn't it better that normal people can accept him?' 'SO Yuki wants to be like Kyo, while Kyo wants to be like Yuki; so why is it the both admire each other it pushes them apart?' Tohru asked.
"That figures" Ed said resting on a chair while Tohru swept the floor. "Those two have been bitter rivals since they were kids, but to secretly admire each other, that's a whole other level, I think the feud will be done when the rat is beaten by the cat thus settling the score" Ed said while Tohru left to be changed, 'If they wanted to, they could settle the fight without using the Sohma style of martial arts they know and take on a new unique style they could fight each other with and be on equal terms' Ed thought waiting for Tohru to walk out the door "Thanks, see you next time" she said as she and Ed walked off. "Why is it people have to feel like someone else, why do they feel jealous?" Tohru asked stopping to look at the moon "Because it's our nature Tor" Ed said softly "If they can see the good qualities in someone else, why can't they see it in themselves?" she asked reflecting on Ed's words "Who knows, come on" Ed said as the pair walked off again
"WHAT THE HELL IS THIS!" Kyo shouted seeing the kitchen "Are turning this place into a riceball shop?" he asked seeing Tohru making riceballs for the festival at the school "Good morning, you're up a little early this morning" Tohru said affectionately "No, this is the usual time I get up" Kyo said taking a rice ball "Kyo wait that's a...leek riceball" Tohru said after Kyo had taken a bite out of it "Why the hell did you make that crap!" he shouted "Because it's for the hit or miss and riceball roulette" Tohru said "So that's one a miss huh?" Kyo murmured before opening the rice cooker up to get some rice for himself "That's amazing Kyo, the way you make riceballs, you're talented; I no idea you were this incredible. "Yeah well, when I was training I had to cook for myself and all that" Kyo gloated "Yeah well if we found a master riceball maker and asked them, they would still be impressed with well you do it" Tohru smiled "Where the hell you going to find somebody like that?" Kyo shouted at the young brunette "I mean that has to be the dumbest thing I've ever heard" Kyo said walking off.
"A plum" Tohru said "what was that?" Kyo asked "What I mean is that a person can't see their own admirable qualities they're like a plum on the back of a riceball, in other words the person is the riceball and the plum is stuck on their back, all over the world you would have riceballs made with all sorts of wonderful ingredients all different shapes, sizes and flavours, but the plum is stuck on their back, so they would have one but no one would know it, they would look at themselves and think to themselves, I'm plain, nothing but rice, but turn them around and there it is the plum in the middle of their backs" Tohru said smiling softly "So if a person is jealous of someone else its because the other person's plum is easier than their own" Tohru added before looking at Kyo's back. "Yep there it is, the nice big plum on your back" she giggled. "You and Yuki are both admirable in your own ways" Tohru finished "Okay, that is the biggest load of crap I've ever heard" Kyo barked. "Oh well we could change it to something else" Tohru said as the kettle sounded. "Excuse I guess I left the kettle on the stove" Tohru excused herself. "Hey you got one too, a plum stuck to your back; I can see it" Kyo said "You can see it?" Tohru asked. "Yeah, but it's only a baby plum" Kyo said making Tohru smile.
"Oh man, I hate the culture festival" Ed bitched "Hey, it still crooked, what are you doing?" Kyo asked "Bitching, what does it look like" Ed snapped "Besides no one is going to notice something that small, Nekyo" Ed said "Yeah you just being finicky" a fellow student said "Yeah its only got to last one day Cat-lover" another student said "What is with the Cat-lover and Nekyo bullshit?" Kyo asked. "Aw, does Kyo want a Puddy Tat to play wid" Ed mocked smirking "Cut it out Edward, are you guys trying to make fun of me!" Kyo growled "Ah we got you figured out you act tough, but all you really are, is a softy when it comes to animals" the second student said "Awwww" the three of them said mocking Kyo "Come on guys knock it off! For the last time those weren't even my cats" Kyo said 'Its a good thing these guys really don't have him figured out' Ed thought "Why is it every time Orange Boy's around I get a headache?" Uo asked nonplussed "At least he's working which is pretty rare for him" Yuki said "I don't know about that Yuki, he has his way and you have yours" Tohru said.
"Oh Yuki!" two girls said as Ed started to chuckled "Oh boy this is going fun" Ed said stretching out the fun "Guess what, we have a present for you" the first girl said "All the senior girls chipped in and bought it" the second one said while Ed chuckled darkly 'Not to mention an anonymous donation from yours truly "We thought it would the greatest thing if you wore it today" the second girl continued on "Er...wear?" Yuki asked "Ta-da!" the girls said showing Yuki their gift making Ed nearly die laughing.
The festival was in full swing, and Tohru's class' stall was doing really well "Wow they're selling like crazy" a student said "We're on track for first place in the food category!" a female student said "I think we have Tohru's wonderful cooking to thank for that" a third student said "Don't be silly" Tohru said blushing "They're right Tohru, even the Neko riceballs are great" Edward said munching on one of the riceballs Tohru had made "However the riceballs aren't our biggest attraction, am I right Yukiko" Ed said smirking while waggling his eyebrows "Shut up Elric" Yuki said as he was photographed wearing a peach dress with a white jacket over "Oh come on Yuki, just having a bit of fun with you" Ed said before the fangirls tried to get rid of the crowd to stop "Good point he is a definite attraction" the male student said "We couldn't have asked for better advertising" the female student deadpanned making the group agree while Ed was snickering "I hope I haven't done anything to make Yuki mad with me, he seems upset" Tohru worried "Don't worry my guess is that he's more embarrassed by it than anything" Kyo said "Besides he has a big enough complex with that feminie face of his" Kyo added.
"YUKI!" a voice shouted as a young boy leapt onto Yuki's shoulder shocking Ed and Kyo "What the hell is he doing here?" Kyo asked shocked. "Better question is who brought him?" Ed asked readying his sword "Calm down Edward, everything's under control" a light voice said "Mum, you came to this thing?" Ed asked becoming embarrassed "What makes you think I wouldn't come today Edward?" Mrs Elric said "I didn't say anything?" Edward said "Exactly" his mother said "Momiji, you are not to go off by yourself" a older deeper voice said 'I knew it' Ed ward unsheathing his sword an inch before his mother's calming hand stopped him "Hello Hatori" "Ah Trisha, how wonderful to see you again and I take it this is Edward, well hasn't he grown" Hatori said "Yuki, Kyo you two are looking well" Hatori said spotting Kyo and Yuki as the girls started to crowd around Hatori and Yuki "Greetings, I'm Momiji Sohma and this here is Hatori Sohma, we're two of Yuki and Kyo's cousins" Momiji said "Is that right?" Tohru asked "But never mind Momiji, What the hell is that bastard Hatori doing here?" Kyo asked snarling while trying slightly to shield Tohru "so if they're relatives, I wonder if their apart of the Zodiac as well" Tohru said "Hello Tohru, my how much have you grown" Trisha said hugging Tohru like she was a niece "It's nice to see you too Mrs Elric"
"Dr Hatori Sohma" Ed said "Yeah" Kyo agreed "So how come he's here?" Tohru asked nervously "Judging by what he's doing giving Yuki a check up" Ed said sourly. "Isn't there anywhere better to do this?" Yuki asked "We did have an appointment, but you skipped it, you know you can't do that when it comes to your monthly checkups, speaking of which" Hatori said turning to Ed "Did you want me to take at look at you as well?" Hatori asked "Nah, I'm fine" Ed said "Check-up? But why does Yuki need one, and Ed for that matter as well?" Tohru asked worried "Kind of" Yuki said "He has fairly sensitive bronchial tubes, he suffered frequent asthma attacks when he was a child, he's gradually growing out of it, as for Edward he had a serious and life changing injury that happened a while ago" Hatori explained "It's nothing, it's been fine" Ed said "Then why have you been reacting to the cold?" Tohru asked "I assume your Tohru Honda?" Hatori asked "Yes, nice to meet you" Tohru said "Be careful Tohru" Ed said standing in a ready position "Indeed I didn't suspect you to be quite ordinary" Hatori said 'You too, you old fossil' Edward said as Momiji made a commotion "Okay why are you really here Hatori?" Yuki asked. "save your complaints for Akito, he wanted to come himself originally, but he was too sick so I came in his place, and since I was watching Momiji I thought I might as well bring him along" Hatori said "You call this looking after him?" Yuki asked "Be grateful we came later when the crowds die down" Hatori said "I know why you and Edward are tense, don't be, I didn't come for Miss Honda today, whether or not I do however is up to Akito" Hatori said.
"Akito" Ed growled. "There you are Trisha" a cheerful voice said 'You have got to be kidding me!' Ed said spotting an man dressed in a purple button down shirt with a black formal jacket and black formal trouser "Maes, you made it" Trisha said greeting the detective "Yeah well, I had to stop and find a straggler" Maes said indicating a teenager that had blonde hair a few shades darker than Ed's, pulled into a pony tail. He was hearing a white shirt, black jeans and a dark teal cloak. He's golden eyes looked around in wonder "Come here you" Ed said joyfully, headlocking the boy with his right arm before noogieing the kid "Ed cut it out" the boy said struggling "Alright Edward let Alphonse up" Trisha said "Come on Mum, Al knows I'm playing with him" Ed said ruffling Al's hair some more before hearing "Now sit here and be quiet" Kyo said and "Waaa! Somebody Kyo's hurting me" from Momiji "They're lively" Al laughed.
"Is everything okay?" Tohru asked attending to the boys behind the sheet that Kyo had placed up "You're Tohru Honda!" Momiji said in a child like glee "That's right" Tohru confirmed "Okay now guess who I am" Momiji said "You're Momiji" Tohru said smiling "Ah, I'm so happy you remembered my name, let's be friends okay?" Momiji asked excitedly "Sure" Tohru said "Hey Tohru you know about the zodiac thing right?" Momiji asked "Right" Tohru nodded "That's great, so I can hug you" Momiji declared "Don't you dare" Kyo said before catching him "Aww, but Tohru doesn't mind me changing in front of her" Momiji whined "Did you happen to forget where the hell you are?" Kyo asked. 'So he is a member of the Zodiac after all" Tohru thought "You're just trying to keep Tohru to yourself because she's cute, you probably hug her everyday" Momiji said "WHAT THE HELL, NO WAY WHO WOULD WANT TO DO THAT!" Kyo shouted letting go of Momiji who glomped Tohru saying "MEEEEE!" he cheered
"Oh shit!" Ed and Al said "What that an explosion?" a student asked "Oh crap, Oh crap, Oh crap, Oh crap!" Ed panicked as people went behind the Curtin 'This couldn't get any worse' Ed deadpanned before hearing "What's with the rabbit?" "Where's Momiji?" "Aren't these his clothes?" the students ask "Hatori do you mind if I turn Momiji into Rabbit Stew?" Ed said through gritted teeth "This is just weird" another student said "Is it any weirder than me, I'm a boy in a dress, it couldn't be any more freakier" Yuki said making the students rush at him and complimenting him as Tohru ran off thanking him for embarrassing himself to take attention away from Momiji and her while Ed also slipped out with Al in tow. 'Be there for her you two' their mother said.
On the roof top "You little brat, do you realise what you nearly did?" Kyo asked growling while being restrained by Ed so he couldn't kill Momiji "You're grounded for a week for this" Hatori said "Oh, Tohru they're trying to scare me" Momiji said "Don't bring her into this, its you own damn fault" Kyo snarled before released by Ed who, if looks could kill, would have barbecued Momiji with his glare "I'm extremely disappointed in you Momiji" Hatori said "We were lucky that Yuki distracted everyone" Ed said "Yeah all he had to do was flutter those girly eyelashes a couple of" Kyo statyedc only to be uppercut by Yuki "Next time you'll go flying off the roof" Yuki threatened "Easy Yuki, your scaring Al" Ed said indicating his trembling little brother "bloody Rat" Kyo griped.
"Momiji you have to be more careful" Yuki said "Indeed you would do well heed that advice" Hatori said "Now it's time to go" Hatori said checking his pocket watch "Aw, I want to talk with Tohru some more" Momiji whined "Yes it's a shame you can't stay longer' Tohru said sadly "Very well I'll give you a moment to say goodbye" Hatori said "AW Hari you're no fun" Momiji said "You heard him Go HOME!" Kyo said "Oh yes I forgot something important Yuki Kyo could you stand there please" Hatori said indicating a spot "What?" Yuki asked as the two got into position "Now I want you to answer this question, what is the last letter of the alphabet?" Hatori stated as the boys answered a photo was heard taking a picture "Thank you very much, now come Momiji, so long then" Hatori said picking up the rabbit who waved goodbye "Wait, GET BACK HERE YOU DAMN BASTARD" Kyo said after a moment of stillness. "I guess I didn't find out if Hatori was a member of the Zodiac" Tohru thought "I'm getting a bad feeling about what's going to happen in the future' Ed thought as Kyo came back panting "Edward Alphonse time to go Home" their mother said "Kay" the two said saying their goodbyes as Yuki was complaining about his attire.
"Hatori" Trisha said stopping the man in his steps "If you do anything to that girl, as one of her legal guardians my wrath will be severe" Trisha said "I understand Ms Elric, you treat her like one of your own, but like I said I have no intention of doing that thing to her yet, unless its under orders" Hatori said "You know he also knows the technique meaning he could reverse it" Trisha said "I am well aware than Van knows the technique as well, and I assume Edward will soon" Hatori said walking off. 'That technique; the Dragon's gaze' Trisha said.
"Now Tohru if you ever run into Hatori again do not, I repeat do not be alone with him at all" Edward said "Why is that?" Tohru asked shaken slightly "Its not that he's a bad person but he has a technique, one that can make you forget things like the Sohma family; Hatori can erase your memory and that is why we're concerned" Edward said before Tohru got a call from the loud speaker to go to the office, "Come on I'll walk you there" Edward said
Once the pair got there it was revealed that was the one who called them "You!" Ed said going for his sword "My apologiatori waswas es for the page" Hatori said as Ed got between Hatori and Tohru "But what with Kyo and Yuki around, not to mention Edward I found it was necessary "What do you want Hatori?" Ed asked easing off a bit "Just a chance to talk with Miss Honda" Hatori said "Now to the point then this is the address for the Sohma home estate I want you to come by when you have the next day off to discuss some important matters in private" Hatori said "Does that include me?" Ed asked concerned "No, it does not; now Miss Honda you are not to speak about to the others and you are not allow refusal of my request, am I clear?" Hatori asked. 'What should I do? If I don't does that mean my memory will be erased, but what would happen if I were to go, what if he really does need to talk to me?' she asked 'Mum did say to me to give people a benefit of the doubt, I understand' Tohru thought "Don't worry I'll be there to look after you" Momiji said "I didn't know you were here" Tohru said "Momiji" Hatori warned him "awe but anyone like Tohru would be unnerved by someone like you" Momiji said as Tohru was thinking about what was happening, An Ed was just concern.
The next day off was a while later, and it was cold "Damn it" Ed groaned as he went over to his cupboard and pulled out a winter coat "Hatori's going to speak with Tohru today, and I'm not liking it" Ed said looking out his window "Come to think of it, wasn't it a day like this one when that bastard left for wherever?" Ed asked rubbing his shoulder "I hate the cold, but I just have to live with it" Ed said smiling as he went to have breakfast "I just hope the weather is an indication of the situation ahead" Ed said grabbing his sword. I little training couldn't hurt" he said walking down the hall "Morning Edward" his mother sang out cheerfully "Morning Mum" Ed smiled kissing her cheek "Training again today?" Trisha asked "Yep" Edward said taking a slug of coffee.
Tohru walked up to the main gate where she was nervous "It's so big, then again the Sohma's must be a large family. I just wish I told the others where I was really going today after what Hatori said" she thought "Ah there you are Tohru, hang on I'll open the gate" Momiji said "I hope I'm not intruding" Tohru said "Come in come in welcome to the Sohma house" Momiji said "Wow, if it's possible, its bigger on the inside, it's like it's a town in their little world, but it seems quiet like a ghost town' Tohru panicked "This way tro Hari's house, what you're not scared are you?" Momiji said "He's really nice once you get to know him" Momiji said
"Come in please make yourself comfortable and relax" Hatori said "So he tell me but it seems to be one of those easier said than done type of things' Tohru thought looking around "'a photograph, I wonder why he has it in here? He doesn't seem like the type to keep personal thing in here. He seem to be very profeesional in apprearance' Tohru analysed. 'Does this means that I've done something worng I mean he's concerned with appearances,' Tohru thought before going off on one of her tangents of things thinking she offended him by doing something wrong and not realising it
"Tohru are you feeling okay, do you want Hari to look at you? He is a doctor you know" Momiji asked "No I'm fine" Tohru whimpered "Yes I am a doctor, but I'm the personal physician of the Sohma family, mainly Akito; he get illnesses frequently and require much of my time" Hatori said "I didn;t know" Tohru admitted "So my time is valuable, now straight to the point" Hatori said looking at Tohru "Sure" she said.
"Even in the Sohma family, there are few who knows about the zodiac, even rarer that an outsider like you should know about it, usually this is corrected straight away but thus far its seems that Akito has said otherwise in your case, tell me how to you find it living with Shigure?" Hatori asked "I like it very much" Tohru said "All the more reason you need to leave" Hatori said "What?" Tohru asked confused "It would be the best course of action if you didn't have anything else to do with the Sohma family" Hatori said "Move out of Shigure's and move back in with your family" Hatori said "That is reasonable is it not, even though Shigure would have told you, the Sohma family has a lot of dark secrets, and life among us is not a pleasurable as you believe" Hatori continue as Tohru felt down hearted "An evil has overshadowed this family, that is our curse's nature" Hatori said "Evil?" Tohru asked. "Yes, now before you regret being involved with us you should leave" Hatori said "Say Hari can I show Tohru the gardens?" Momiji asked "Yes you may" Hatori said "Come one Tohru let's go" Momiji said as Hatori returned to his chair.
At the park Ed was sitting on the bench reflecting how he got involved with the Sohma family "It seems like another lifetime ago that I didn't know about the Sohmas or their curse" Ed said as a snowflake dropped into his palm. 'I was young no older than six maybe seven I was wondering around the park one with my father when I saw it a puff of coloured smoke and there in the white snow was a small rat, I looked around and scooped the poor thing up as dad came over and looked at him smiling before another person, a young Hatori walked up bid good day to us and ask if he could have the rat back, so I handed Yuki to him and he looked to my father thanking him for finding the rat before leaving. My father bowed back and then he placed me on his shoulder walking off. But not before saying 'Edward, I think it's time I tell you the story of the nomadic knight"' Edward reflected.
"Its quiet isn't it?" Momiji asked "Yes it is" Tohru said "Everyone's getting ready for New Year's up at the main house. It's kind of a big deal for us" Momiji said "Its the one time of year we all gather so there's a ton to do to get ready" Momiji said "From the tree line road outside the gate to the main house all belongs to the Sohma family" Momiji said happily "That's a big place" "Yep and all the people who live around here are all related to the Sohmas. Yujki and Shigure used to live here as well a long time ago" Momiji said "The only ones who can live inside the gates are members of the Zodiac" Momiji said "Or our secret keepers" Momiji said walking over to a rock garden "Did you know Hatori is nearly blind in one eye?" he asked softly "huh?" Tohru asked. "He had a girlfriend once, Kana was her name, and she acted as his assistant for a while, plus what I remember of her she was nice" Momiji explained.
"It didn't bother her when she found out about the zodiac actually she laughed about it. They were going to get married then they told Akito who got angry at them telling them he wasn't going to allow it at; guess he lost his temper and injured his eye" Momiji said as an image of Hatori flashed in his mind, his eyes covered by bandages. "Hari didn't blame him though Kana, she well, she blamed herself" Momiji said "She was convinced that Hari's injuries were her fault, she...she couldn't forgive herself and soon it became too painful to be around Hari anymore so; so she asked Hari to erase her memories of ever being in love with him. She left and he cried" Momiji explained "And not once did Hari ever blame Akito" Momiji finished."Why?" was all Tohru asked "Because that is our curse; that's why I can kind of understand the way Hari feels, he doesn't you to get hurt like Kana did" Momiji said before Tohru burst into tears "Tohru are you crying, did I make you cry, I'm sorry" Momiji said "No its not that, its because I was so concerned about coming here, and the whole time he wanted to help me" Tohru sobbed "He was being kind but after all of his suffering, he is the one who needs to be shown kindness, not me" Tohru continued on as Hatori listened from the doorway. "I'll get us something to warm us up with okay, I'll be right back, and if you want you can go back inside" Momiji said running off. "It's snowing." Tohru said "I knew it" Tohru said as Hatori flashbacked to a scene with him and Kana.
"I'm sorry I guess I really don't know anything about the Sohmas" Tohru said as she sat down with Hatori "And there is no reason you should, In fact it would be best if you forgot whatever Momiji talked to you about" Hatori said "That means you've forgotten her Hatroi?" Tohru asked "It's in the past" Hatori stated making Tohru apologise "You have nothing to apologise for, I still speak with her from time to time, but that's all" Hatori said "Now if you would excuse I believe we have discuss things enough for one day" Hatori said "Oh no please I would like it if you stayed maybe you can show me around the house" Tohru said before tripping, Hatori saving her, and in the process transforming into a seahorse. Tohru suddenly saw his form and freaked out while Hatori flashed back to his life with Kana.
Ed was walking home while thinking about something "The Tome of the Knight the book written by the first Elric, otherwise known as the Nomadic Knight; the wandering warrior who came upon the Sohma clan back one winter in the ancient times, probably the third or fourth generation of the zodiac curse. He stayed with them until it had become summer; studying their ways and the curse itself. Then he went back home to where he wandered from with this leather bound book with information about the clan, the curse and a lost prophecy about the curse's breaking. From generation to generation the tome was passed down, and along with the tome came a sword. Each generation's sword from forged from the metal from the sword of the previous generation. My family's mission has been to keep the secret of the Sohmas safe." Ed said as he spotted two people "Shigure and Momiji?" Edward asked as he walked over to them.
Hatori woke up sitting up as the covers he was under slid off his body "I'm happy I met the Sohmas, I don't regret it, I can't imagine anymore what life would be like without them you must have felt that way once too Kana, please if they is anyway you can help Hatori now please" Tohru said as she realised Hatori was awake"I'm sorry, I didn't look. I didn't know what to do, so I moved you up here so you could lay down and the only thing I had to cover you was my coat, even thought it may not be the best thing, I know it's dirty and all. I'm sorry but it's all I had" Tohru continued on "Did you see it?" Hatori asked "NO! you see, er I" Tohru said "I meant my zodiac form" Hatori stated "I did and I thought it was really cute" Tohru said softly smiling "It was amazing to see what animal you were, but I'm really glad you're okay, oh here I looked at it without asking." Tohru said "It's been awhile since I dreamt about my life with her" Hatori said 'Hey here's a question for you" Kana's voice asked in Hatori's mind "Tell me what does snow become when it melts?" Hatori asked "Hm, let's see..It becomes spring right?" Tohru asked. "So even when its cold like this I always remember that Spring is on its way! it's neat to think about, no matter the amount of snow it's all going to melt away and turn into spring, my favourite time of year" Tohru summarised "You must be freezing here" Tohru said handing Hatori a jacket "Of course Autumn's always nice too" Tohru said
"But nothing can compared to spring" a voice said as Ed walked around the corner "Oh Edward!" Tohru said shocked. "Hello Edward, what an unexpected pleasure" Hatori said "Anyway I'll go find us something to warm up with. Something to warm us up, that feels like déjà vu" Tohru said "TOHRU!" Momiji said as he rounded the corner arms full of warm drinks and Shigure "Lo and behold there you are, I've been looking for you. Imagine my surprise when I find a lost little bunny and a knight instead" Shigure said "Oh Momiji, I guess it wasn't déjà vu after all; you have drinks." Tohru laughed "Sorry it took so long" Momiji said "Hari" Shigure said tossing him a drink "What brings you here?" Hatori asked. "I felt like Tohru needed my help. Call it Writer's intuition" Shigure chuckled. "You onjly came to see the New Years preparations didn't you?" Hatori asked "Guilty as charged" Edward chuckled "Don't let these two fool you, they've been old friends since they were kids" Momiji said "Oh by the way have you asked what animal of the zodiac he is?" Shigure asked. "One more word and the publishing inrustry will know all your embarassing secrest since you were four" Hatori threatened "Understood my lips are sealed" Shigure said "it not like its hard to figure out" "Momiji!" the other two Sohmas said
"I really don't see what's so embarassing about it" Tohru said making the others shocked. "It's so warm" Tohru said taking a drink. After a while Shigure, Edward and Tohru said their goodbyes as Tohru noticed someone hanging out the window. 'And you must be Akito' Edward thought "I wonder if that was" Tohru said "Come on Tohru its easy to get lost in here" Shigure said "Tell me Shigure what exactly is the curse, am I doing something wrong?" she asked. "I would worry just bed yourself, that is all you have to do" Shigure said walking away. When they got home they spotted Kyo and Yukio asleep under the heater so they decided not to wake them up.
