Sanity is Precious

Two weeks and Caitlyn found herself in the same place as she last saw Jinx. She had been sitting there for almost three hours and was beginning to think Jinx wasn't coming, that she wasn't gonna show up. Caitlyn didn't want to believe it, but had a feeling it was true. Jinx had always been here when she got there, never the other way around. Then she remembered something that happened between Vi and her that morning.

"Hey, Caitlyn. Where you going to in such a hurry?" Vi asked, watching her partner change into her more 'casual' clothing.

Caitlyn stopped, turning to look at her, a smile on her face as she responded. "I'm going to meet someone later, and it's a long walk to where we're meeting."

Vi laughed, shaking her head. So her partner had a date. No wonder she was so happy.

"Want me to walk with you? I mean, if it's that far away I'm sure you don't want to walk alone."

"No!" Caitlyn shouted, correcting herself shorty after, "I mean, no thanks. You need to stay here in case a call comes in or something else happens! I can't leave anyone else in charge afterall."

Vi noticed the hesitation in her partners voice, but never said anything. Instead she just walked out of the dressing room, saying one last sentence before leaving, "Whoever they are, they're very lucky to be with a girl like you."

"Lucky to be with a girl like me.." Caitlyn whispered, looking down at the ground.

Caitlyn knew that if Vi had known she was with Jinx that neither of them would be lucky. Vi would kill Jinx, then probably yell at her or even try to kill her before storming off. Sighing, Caitlyn looked at her right hand, at her ring finger. Once she was out of sight of everyone, she put it on, surprised it was a perfect fit. Now she just wished that Jinx would show up, that she was running late or something, especially since she had done something yesterday after the 'search' for Jinx ended up a lost cause.

"God damn it, stupid freaking belt! Why do I wear so many?!"

Caitlyn looked up at the noise, smiling slightly when she saw Jinx, and laughing when she realised one of Jinx's belts, the one that kept her shirt together, somehow snapped and Jinx couldn't get it together with all of her guns on her. Standing, she walked towards her.

"Here, sweety. Let me help." Caitlyn said, standing and walking towards her partner, quickly fastening the belt then using a few pins she always kept on her to keep it closed until Jinx could get to where she lived to fix it. Jinx smiled at her, laughed, then kissed her deeply and pulling back before Caitlyn had the chance to respond. Caitlyn just huffed and pulled Jinx close so Jinx just wrapped her arms her, holding her close.

It was a calm day actually, a slight breeze passed by every now and then but other then that, only a few clouds were out. So the two just sat there, talking about simple things. Jinx told Caitlyn how she hadn't destroyed anything since their last meeting, and Caitlyn was slightly surprised. Caitlyn told Jinx how Vi had lost a poker game against Ezreal when he decided to make a quick visit to get something from Jayce and Jinx just laughed.

"Oh, that reminds me!" Caitlyn said, pulling a small box out of her pocket and handing it to Jinx. Jinx just stared at it before opening it, gasping slighty as she pulled out the necklace. It was mostly simple, and the charm was a bullet. "Here, press this." Caitlyn said, showing Jinx a button and pressing it, looking away blushing at the hologram that showed.

The hologram was of herself in what one would consider a slutty officers outfit and she on her hands and knees, a pair of handcuffs dangling from her index finger. "Sanity may be precious, but insanity is even better." The hologram said.

Jinx was quiet, before she put the necklace on and held Caitlyn close to her, kissing her cheek and saying, "I think I'm ready to give up my life of destruction... But only if you'll marry me." into Caitlyn's ear. Caitlyn jumped slightly, looking at Jinx.

"But what about..." She started, only to get shushed by Jinx. "If Vi has a problem, or anyone else for that matter, then we'll leave! Besides, I can always find other stuff to destroy." Jinx said, looking Caitlyn straight in the eye with a smile on her face.

Caitlyn didn't know what to say. She just stared at Jinx as she thought of her answer. A few minutes passed by before she spoke again, whispering a soft 'yes' into Jinx's neck as she took one of Jinx's hands, lacing there fingers together. All Jinx could do was smile before she pulled Caitlyn to stand with her so they could both head back to see what life had for them.
