I do not own Inuyasha!

Please read and review!

I am trying to move the story along so if it seems a little rushed that is my intent.

Eyeing him with unconcealed discomfort or maybe it was delight as he undressed; her feelings she just could not decipher at the moment. On one hand the distress and bitterness of losing their baby had lifted, but on the other hand, was she really ready for sex and the possibility of being impregnated again?

It was a scary proposition that had her sighing audibly which alerted Sesshomaru to her moment of near panic and unsurety. His head lifted and eyes that were filled with concern met her troubled ones and locked. His gaze intense with the light of the moon bouncing off his irises making them shine like a cat in the semi darkness. She gasped!

Looking away from his concentrated gaze her eyes focused on the grassy bed on the ground as if it were the most interesting thing in the world. It took only an arms stretch to gather her close to his half naked body. She did not resist, however, she did not return his embrace as her hands hung limply by her side.

"Kagome," her name on his lips had a weary quality to it and it made her all the more uncomfortable. Without releasing her from his embrace he continued to speak with the side of his face resting comfortably in her hair. "I am regretful for the loss of our child."

His voice sincere with the natural deep timbre of his tone diminished to the point where it sounded hoarse and unnatural. And for the first time she realized that he was unhappy, and that he truly grieved for their loss. They did not mourn their loss together because she had pushed him away and had become cold and distant.

Closing her eyes tightly as she could hear the pain in his voice, while he held her closer feeling the heavy drumming of her heart, there they remained lost in the moment as the seconds ticked by.

Momentarily hands that were previously unoccupied reached up and locked around his strong back, as muffled and hurried words spilled from her lips. "I am so sorry Sesshomaru, I wasn't thinking. I didn't mean…! Her voice broke as she let the tears fall; tears that she had stubbornly held back from the day that she'd found out that her baby was purified by her own reiki.

Finally Kagome let all the bitterness go as she cried, while coming to the realization that her mate too was deeply affected by their misfortune, and while she had grieved and had shut him out, he also suffered, but he had suffered alone in silence.

He held her closer while she sobbed. Both of them torn and hurting, but now they were facing the torment together. And when the crying subsided he held her away from himself and peered into glossy eyes searching it seemed for something. Kagome looked him deeply into the eyes before nodding her head and giving him permission. "Are you sure?" he asked her so lovingly that there was no way she could say no. "Yes, I am sure," she replied confidently.

Without another word being spoken between them, Sesshomaru undressed Kagome slowly like the unwrapping of a precious gift and then himself. He could tell by her scent that she was ready and very fertile, and the chance of them conceiving was great. Her eyes never left his face, and only closed when burning lips and a hot body met hers in a fiery kiss. The longing and the need, the pain and the hurt drove them on with so much passion, so much so that when their bodies joined Kagome cried out with tears running down her cheeks.

There wasn't any aggression, just smooth strokes as he moved deep within her womb, and Kagome moved beneath him in time with every insert and near withdrawal. Together they soared to the highest peaks and when they fell it was as if they floated helplessly to the ground.

His knot tied them together while his seeds poured out of him and into her. The moment they savored as they kissed deep and long, and when he became flaccid and his manhood slid from her slippery channel they did not move, only holding on tighter as sleep took them to a place of peace.

They were happy again, and the light had returned to the children eyes. Taizo had started to call her mother and it wasn't long before the others followed suit and was calling her thus. Three weeks to the day that they first made love after the crisis had passed, Kagome missed her monthly courses and Sesshomaru confirmed her pregnancy by her changed scent. To say they were happy would be an understatement; no words could adequately describe their joy; maybe ecstatic and overjoyed came the closest.

It seemed strange that they were living in a beautiful garden encased in a barrier, the snow that fell bounced off an invisible shield. How had she not noticed it before now? Maybe it was the grief of losing a child compounded with the fact that while she'd mourned her mind was clouded by a thick fog, and her eyes stared blankly blinding her to the beauteous surroundings.

The house that stood in the middle of garden at the end of the canopy of trees was magnificent in design and structure. It was not as large as his castle, but it was comfortable and personal. Being protected under a barrier made the house redundant and she had a feeling that it was there for her purposes alone.

Regardless, the house was utilized as she made a home out of it. The children preferred to sleep together anyway leaving four of the bedrooms unoccupied. Each child completely comfortable being huddled close together, with the memories of their loss and misfortune still fresh in their minds. Hopefully as they matured and with love the bad memories would fade.

They had fun playing and gathering flowers, and Sesshomaru confided in Kagome that this was the happiest he had observed his pups ever being. She smiled feeling a sense of gratitude and contentment, knowing that her mate had just complimented her.

The months slowly trickled by and Kagome's belly grew, the pregnancy was normal and often times she would be sick with nausea. Her mate had never taken the time to be there for his other partners because it was deemed unnecessary by them. Kagome was necessary and very important to him; she was different in every way and he did his utmost best to make her happy, he even employed a human and a demon nurse to help with the children and the birthing when it was time.

The children doted on her by braiding her hair and rubbing her abdomen; they enjoyed the feel of their sibling as it stiffened making her belly an odd shape of round. And at nights Sesshomaru would also feel the life that they created as it kicked and moved within.

Kagome was worried in the beginning because she feared purifying her baby again, but the training she underwent with the demon cat Tora came in handy, as she utilized his instructions and had perfect control of her powers. The baby would be fine and her fears were unsubstantiated. The months rolled on and she was heavy and needed constant help to do the simplest of task, nevertheless, she had her mate and children who fussed over her.

"Sesshomaru, what will our baby be like?" Her question took him by surprise as they were both lying in bed and listening to the nocturnal animals and insects as they chirped, croaked and moved about. His answer was vague when he'd answered because he was not as sure what such a union would produce, yes, Kagome was human, but she was also a creature of the gods and of great magics. "I do not know my koi…but it is made from the two of us and that is all that counts." Sighing heavily Kagome then responded. "You are right; the baby will have part of the two of us and is proof of our love."

They both thought on it some more, and before long Kagome fell asleep. The baby was due anytime now and he was on edge. He knew that childbirth was difficult and it could be dangerous. The thought left him feeling a little disturbed even though he knew that pain came with the birthing of a child.
