One Year Later
Oh no, I thought.
I could feel it starting, when the small conversations started getting too loud and my thoughts started roaring. When one second, everything is quiet and easy and the next everything sounds like an explosion in my ears.
I had to get out.
I jumped off of the couch and I ran past the kitchen.
Shouts of "Wally!" and "KF, what's wrong?" came flying through one ear and out the other.
I didn't stop for anything.
I ran straight for a zeta tube and I was gone in a flash of blue light.
I stopped running when I got to the place I wanted to be. I laid down in the soft sand. The soft sound of the water around me was soothing. About four years ago, right before mom left, I found this spot. One that was right in the middle of the ocean. It wasn't very big. It was about the size of a small kids playground. It was nice and quiet. I took in a deep breath. It always helped back then, after Rudolph would beat me. It helps now when I just need to get away from everything.
The team would probably come looking for me soon. It's never happened in front of them before.
I was just fine with that.

Dick's POV
Wally ran past the room at human speed. He never runs at human speed. That kinda worried me.
"Where did he go?" Megan asked. "I felt distress coming off him in waves."
That worried me, but it was okay because he had a tracker.
"Here, let me track him," I said.
When the results came back, I waited because Wally, being Wally, was on the move.
Then he stopped.
Right in the middle of the Atlantic.
Knowing Wally as well as I did, I knew he wasn't able to swim.
"Crap," I muttered.
"What? What's wrong?" Superboy asked.
"Megan, Artemis and Connor, let's go, the rest of you stay here. I'll debrief on the way," I said.
We all raced to the bioship.
I pulled it up on the bioship's screen. I pointed towards the big yellow dot in the middle of the screen.
"This is Wally."
I motioned to the blue around him.
"This is the Atlantic Ocean. Wally, coming from the bad side of Blue Valley, never learned how to swim. Then, he got his powers and he was able to run on water. He's never needed to swim."
"So why is he in the middle of the Atlantic?" Megan asked.
"My guess is he tripped. He needs help," I replied.
When we got to the area, we were very surprised to find a small island, about the size of a children's playground.
And in the center was Wally.
We all breathed a sigh of relief.
"Nightwing should go down there and talk to him. He seems very distressed, and with Nightwing being his best friend, I think he would be the best choice." Megan said.
Everyone slowly and hesitantly nodded in agreement.
I jumped down from the bioship and landed gracefully right next to Wally.
"Nice place you got here," I said.
"Yeah."
I looked around. "Pretty quiet."
"Yeah."
I already knew what had happened. It had happened frequently since we took him off the watch tower.
He's never done it in front of the team though.
"Are they all here?" he asked.
"No, I only allowed the other three," I replied.
"Oh okay."
I sat down next to him and he sat up and rested his head on my shoulder.
"You know, this little place isn't on the maps." I said.
"It's not?" Wally asked.
"Nope. You gave me quite the scare," I chuckled.
Wally pulled back and looked at me. Really looked at me.
"I'm sorry."
"I'll live, as long as you're hear to live with me."
"Good."
I reached up and tapped my earpiece, "Can you guys give us a minute? We'll meet you at the Cave."
"Oh great. Now I've got to carry your heavy ass," Wally said jokingly.
"Is he okay?" Connor asked.
"He's good," Wally said next to me.
"Oops, we forgot you had a comm..." Artemis said and you could practically see her rubbing her neck.
"Yeah. Bye!" Wally waved.
They left.
We turned our comms off.
"So, I'm heavy assed?" I asked him.
"Yeah, I mean just look at all those muscles! You know how much they- mmph!" I cut him off with a kiss.
We pulled away, "Still think they're heavy now?"
"Yeah, but it's more bearable," Wally said.
Then he stood up, brushed the sand off himself, and held out his hand.
"Already?" I pouted.
He chuckled, "Come on, I bet we can beat those slow pokes back to base."
"Alright," I grabbed his hand and he hoisted me up.
"Hop on, m'lady."
"We already discussed this, you're the lady, man."
"Yeah, okay."
I jumped on his back and we took off.
About halfway there, I cursed.
"What?" Wally asked.
"We forgot our comms," I said.
"Ugggh, can't we just get new ones?"
"Nope, remember? Last year we spent over one million because we kept loosing ours," I reminded him.
"Fine, but you owe me," he replied, turning around.
"Fair enough," I said, knowing exactly how to play this. "How about I take you back to my place and we'll have Alfred cook for us."
"Debt paid," Wally said happily.
