Robin knew that Zatara would give himself to Dr. Fate if Zatanna, the magician's sweet, only child, bore the helmet. And Robin knew that there would be no more orphans on his team under his watch. Even if he had to take on the helmet himself.

Prologue

"No!"

Wally was running as fast as his could take him.

"Faster…!"

He muttered to himself. He didn't why he was going so slowly! Faster, faster, he has to go faster!

He heard Zatanna scream.

"No… no, no, stop!"

Almost there…

So close….

No!

"No!"

Too late….

"Robin!"

Zatanna on the ground, looked like she was about to pass out. But Wally felt worse.

No… Robin….

He was too late.

Robin paid the price.

And dearly Robin had paid.
