Chapter 5

The Twelve Lords of Kobol were standing next to each other. They all had the mark of the Corsair on their arms. It was a snake tattoo.

The First Lord of Kobol, Zeus, was a frail old figure, with grey hair, but extremely tough.

The Second Lord, Apollo, was shorter than the first, more childlike and scruffy than the First Lord.

The Third Lord, Ares, was an authorative man of action – fond of humanity and keen to criticise the other Lords.

The Fourth Lord, Asclepius, was an intelligent man who looked like he knew everything. He had a long scarf which he would trip over at times.

The Fifth Lord, Athenus, was wise beyond thought. He carried a stick of celery in his pocket and wore glasses. He was so humanlike at times it was shocking.

The Sixth Lord, Dionysus, a flamboyant personality, wore purple socks and a technicoloured coat. He was often excessively drunk.

The Seventh Lord, Atlas, was a dark figure who carried the weight of Kobol on his shoulders and had a manipulative personality.

The Eight Lord, Hypnos, a young charming god with wings sprouting from his brow, carrying a poppy stem. He had excellent improvisational skills but had bouts of self-doubt at times.

The Ninth Lord, Poseidon, had a northern accent and wore black leather and jeans.

The Tenth Lord, Herus, had no patience with false gods and demigods. He had a light-hearted manner, but was ready to punish his enemies when necessary. He wore frame glasses very similar to the Fifth Lord's.

The Eleventh Lord, Mithras, was a youthful character, quick-tempered but compassionate and extremely friendly. He once defeated the Minotaur.

The Twelfth Lord, Hepaestus, had an old-looking face, he was called ugly by some. He was too not good with people and did not like hugs. He was a jealous god too at times.

And suddenly a new figure enters the scene. He is Kyrios.

Suddenly the vision faded. (This was a vision)

After the vision, the Prophetess Pythia wrote down in her Scrolls, which would be known as the Book or Scrolls of Pythia, about the exile and rebirth of humanity. She had witnessed the exodus of the thirteen tribes.

A wave of change came over her. One word, time-shift. History had changed.

No, make that the thirteenth tribe only. She only witnessed their exodus. Also in her visions, she witnessed the exodus of the other tribes was still to occur some 1600 years later. Plus the exodus of the colonies much later on.

She wrote in a unique prophetic style the following paragraph:

When the Not-We come, one will arise from among We, a male with Voice (the Ra) who must be obeyed. The Lords anointing one as Leader, who will guide the people to the new Kobalos.

And unto the leader they gave a vision of twelve serpents, numbered two and Ten, as a sign of things to come. And the leader who was dying of a disease, with the help of these serpents wins a battle.

And at the time of the exodus of the twelve tribes, a monk rewrote the paragraph as follows:

When the outsiders arrived, all of this took place.
And the Lords anointed a leader, to guide the caravan of the heavens to their new homeland.
And unto the leader they gave a vision of serpents, numbering two and ten, as a sign of things to come. And the leader who was dying of a disease, with the help of these serpents wins a battle.

THOUGHTS

The Eleventh Doctor defeated the Minotaur in THE GOD COMPLEX. Mithras in mythology is featured as killing a great bull.

Kyrios is greek for Master (according to Google!).

In the vision, the twelve Lords of Kobol are the Twelve Doctors, if you did not realise it yet. It does not mean that the Lords are the Doctor but it prefigured the Doctor's arrival, a "serpent" (or bringing one) in "Paradise".

The mark of the Corsair appears in THE DOCTOR'S WIFE.

The Not-We part of the prophecy is taken/inspired by KINDA. Of course the monk thought it didn't make sense and removed it. But we know better, no?

The Ten in the prophecy is the Tenth Doctor.

COMMENT

I had a review which said that basically this is a different style of story. Sorry but as a story-writer I strive to maintain consistency in both the Doctor Who and BSG 2003 universes, plus my previous fanfiction. There is no change of style in this story. Remember the prophecy of Pythia in BSG? Well here we look at the prophecy and see how it described both exoduses (is that a word?). And the Tenth Doctor's arrival on Kobol has altered a previous timeline where the exodus of ALL the THIRTEEN tribes occurred at the same later time. He has, precipitated, a change. The information about the two timelines is found in the Battlestar Wiki in the Galleon Meadow section.

Specifically this paragraph:

The line, quoted by Caprica-Valerii, replying to Elosha's reading, is: "And the 'great ship' was the Galleon that departed from here, where we're standing. And it took the founders of the thirteen colonies 'to their destiny.' And those that didn't board the galleon 'took the high road...' the rocky ridge that led to the tomb." The dialogue appears to contradict later information in the Re-imagined Series that the Thirteenth Tribe left Kobol some 2,000 years prior to the exodus of the remaining twelve tribes. However, Valerii's line suggests that the founders of all thirteen tribes were the last to leave, implying that the bulk of the tribes had left earlier. As the information from "Home, Part I" and "The Eye of Jupiter" is unclear, a continuity error may be present.
