A/N: Have you guys seen all those stories in which Davis is suddenly a poor, abused soul who just pretends to be happy, or is depressed because Kari won't date him, or he discovers that his friends secretly hate his guts? Davis-bashing (thankfully) isn't much of a thing anymore, from what I've seen. All those other stories where Davis and Veemon get more powerful worked in the early 2000s because they were a new take on the characters, who for the most part were portrayed by other authors as morons, perverts, evil, or any combination of the three. And the best of those Davis-praising stories also were nice to the other Digidestined, not just making Davis and Veemon the Ultimate Gods Who Own Everyone's Souls and Make the Other Digidestined Look Like Chumps in Comparison.
Besides, Davis doesn't strike me as the kind of guy who would spend all his time wallowing in self-pity. Sure, he can have sad days sometimes (don't we all?) but was it not him who said that we should never give up on our dreams?
