A/N: Okay, I know I am a horrible person and I'm sorry. Here is a short chapter just to let you know I have not abandoned you, I promise more will come!

I went to bed right after that, exhaustion finally taking over. All night I dreamed of my past, Shane, Rick, and I had some pretty awesome memories. Then the nightmare came again as it did every night, but this time when I woke up, I didn't feel afraid and angry, I only felt resignation and a pang of loneliness

…...

Morning came and we all got up from our beds, stretching to get rid of the stiffness that had overtaken us in the night. We ate leftover squirrel and got ready to move into the prison. Rick tried to excite us all, but his attempts failed and he soon gave up.

"Everyone grab your weapons, get ready to move. We need to finish up so we can be in before dark," he said and we all obeyed without question. Maggie, Glenn, T-Dog, Rick, Daryl, and I were in the group going in. The rest of them were going to kill them through the fences.

"Ready?" Rick asked once everyone was standing at the fence, weapons poised, in a tight formation. He pulled the gate open and all hell broke loose.

Everything was a blur of blood and fighting. Walkers came from every direction, but our formation made for no blind spots. Luckily, the walkers came one or two at a time and were easy to dispatch. One time, T broke rank to grab a shield from one of the fallen walkers who used to be a guard. It was a scary moment but he made it back safely. Rick rounded the corner and immediately jumped back, pressing his back into the wall.

"Shit," he muttered and I peaked around the side. The gate was right there, with walkers all in it. There had to be two hundred walkers but most of them were on the opposite side of the gate, so if we could get it closed, we'd be fine. Suddenly walkers appeared in front of us. They were obviously guards, wearing protective gear. Daryl fired a bolt at the closest one but it just bounced off his face shield.

We broke rank and just started attacking, trying to find the best way to kill them.

"Daryl!" Rick called and the two of them ran to the gate, closing it and securing it. That just left the guard walkers. Maggie grabbed one behind his head and plunged her knife upward into his neck. He fell to the ground and we all immediately started using the same technique to dispatch the rest of them.

They were gone. It was completely quiet for a moment save for our labored breathing. We all began walking back toward the field we had stayed in the night before when Rick stopped us.

"It looks secure," he said, scanning the area.

"Not from the look of that courtyard over there. And that's a civilian," Daryl said, pointing to a fallen walker who was wearing street clothes rather than a jumpsuit or guard uniform.

"So the interior could be overrun with walkers from outside the prison," Glenn said, slumping a bit. "Well if there's walls down what are we going to do?"

"We can't rebuild this whole place. We can't risk a blind spot," Rick debated without looking any of us directly in the eye. "We have to push in," he continued and started walking away. We all followed like the obedient little soldiers we were and took our first steps into the prison.
