Disclaimer: I do not own Full Metal Alchemist: Brotherhood.

Midway on the endless journey, when we seem to stand still
We heave a deep sigh

I almost grasped it, but it left me again
But now I'm not afraid of anything anymore

The strong bond that connects our hearts
Won't ever dissolve
We kept searching for and made our way
To the Period at this place

The warmth filled with love races through my body
My memories will never disappear again…

I'll definitely fulfill our promise and bring you along
(Holding) overflowing (dreams) wishes, I let everything ride on my song

Without averting my eyes from the reality
Give me the courage to confront it
Turning sorrow and anger into strength
Destiny is right by my side

Beyond where I head toward, look
There's a sparkling world

This cheering that shakes me
Won't ever betray me
We live on together for our future's sake
In the Period at this place

The truth is at our fingertips

"Ng." Yumi groaned and opened her eyes to see...Miles in front of her! "Miles!" She exclaimed.

"Glad to see you have recovered."

"Recovered? What happened? How did I get back here?"

"I brought us back here."

"What the fuck, Misery!" She exclaimed suddenly.

"Don't panic. I wrote a note to your friend and sent my raven after them to inform them of the danger."

"Oh...Well, why didn't you do that in the beginning!?"

"Hey, I forgot about him, alright? It's been a while, a lot has happened. My memory isn't what it used to be."

Yumi rolled her eyes. "You're old."

"Shut up."

"..near the tunnels."
Yumi's head shot up.

'Miles...You will not take this away from me.'

She could hear the snipers talking about Kimblee being in their sites from above on the roof. 'Heh heh. Not happening.' She thought calmly before she abruptly headed through the snow, her footsteps light and soundless and she walked towards Kimblee.

"Kimblee." She said, gaining his attention. "Let the Briggs soldiers search the tunnels. Their more used to it."

"The mere fact that you're stopping me is proof that we're in the right place. Now I know that their down there." Kimblee said with a smile before he turned back to the tunnels.

"What? I want to catch this guy just as much as yo-"

"You're buying time for your snipers to get into position, aren't you?" He said, turning his head to look at her with a smirk.

She was surprised but only let it show for a second. 'Of course he would know about that.' "That's ridiculous-"

"I can practically smell the murderous intent in the air around here." He said calmly. "It's like a six sense I picked up while in Ishval. But then again," He turned to her again with a grin. "You'd no all about that, wouldn't you, Elemental Alchemist." She gritted her teeth in anger.

"I didn't do anything there I didn't later regre-"

"I saw how much fun you were having." He said with a cold laugh. "Setting Ishvalans on fire, strangling them, drowning them, you looked to be having the time of your life!"

She glared at him, her hand bawling into fists. "The only reason why any of that happened, was because of you! Because of what you did to Alice!" She exclaimed.

"I may have drove you to it, but the need, the want for it was always there. I merely gave you the push you needed to let go and do what you wanted to, but were too scared to do." Her eyes widened in rage. "I may have driven you to it, but it wasn't me who shot that child." Her hands were shaking now.

"You;re wrong, Kimblee."

"Ha ha ha. No, I'm not." He turned around to face her with a grin. "You always had it in you, now you can't accept it so you;re just looking for somebody to blame."

"SHUT UP!"She screamed. He smirked slight before hs raised his hands, palms facing her. Red electricity shone around his hands before he slammed them on the ground, causing snow to go flying everywhere in a big cloud of smoke, making in near impossible to see anything. She narrowed her eyes as she whipped her head around to see Kimblee heading into the tunnels. "Kimblee! You son of a-" She said as she started to race towards him, only to halt mid sentence, and mid stride as a claw came out and slashed at her, then punched her square in the face. She skidded in the snow but remained perfectly balanced as she examined the two chimera's in front of her.

"I should've guessed the two of you were chimeras." She said, eyes narrowing slightly. One was a gorilla, the other a lion. That much was obvious. She knew she couldn't let Misery take control. She loved inflicting pain too much. She would torture them for hours, and Kimblee would get away.

"God fucking dammit, Kimblee. Damn you. I can't see anything." She cursed as the chimeras ran around her, using the clouded smoke to their advantage. "Bright side at least they can't see me eithe-" She broke off in shock as the lion appeared, grabbing her tightly by the throat.

"There's no point in hiding from us here, Element Alchemist. We may not be able to see you, but we sure can smell you!" He snarled, his voice far deeper than she remembered.

"Ack." She coughed slightly.

"Kid, why don't you let me handle this-"

"No!" She snapped aloud. "No. I have no time for you to torture them! I have to catch him and kill him!"

"That's not going to happen!" The lion growled out.

"Oh will you shut up!" She snapped, touching his wrist swiftly causing an icicle from the freezing wall she was touching with her other hand, to shoot up into his arm causing him to cry out in pain. She kicked him hard in the abdomen before she leaped away from him. The sound of rushing footsteps behind her caused her to turn around and, using her hand as a momentum, did a hand stand out of his way, landing on her feet a few inches from his arms.

"Yumi! What's going on in there?! Answer me!?" Yumi groaned as she dodged their attacks, blocking with her guns.

"Miles! Kimblee's men! Their...ack...CHIMERAS!" She cried over the roar of their fight. "STAY OUT OF HERE! YOU HAVE TO TRUST ME! CAN YOU DO THAT!?"

"...Understood."

She took a step back to dodge another attack only to slip off of the edge. She gasped and quickly turned around mid air, using what strength she had gained from being a homunculus to land lightly on her feet on the hard ground. She noticed a whole box of dynamite and got an idea. She quickly grabbed at least fiver of them and held them in one hand. She pressed her hand against them causing a revolting smelling smoke to blast through. Luckily, she had nose plugs handy for when she was around Kimblee.

It hit the chimeras hard, causing them to cry out dramatically from the smell. She rolled her eyes as she got to her feet, a faint smirk on her lips. She sat on top of one of them as she waited for the smoke to clear. "Ugh, what;s that disgusting smell." Kimblee asked.

She smirked. "Sure it aint you?" She snapped, before she stood up. "It's Pneumonia Nitrate." She said, putting a hand on her hip with a victorious smile on her lips. "I'm part homunculus, you really think a couple of big muscled chimeras will be enough to keep me out of your way?" She didn't wait for him to answer, simply turned to look at the chimeras. "A downside to having a sharp nose, I suppose." She turned back to look at Kimblee. "I highly doubt they'll be of any use to you now."

He smirked. "Your attitude changed rather quickly after I lost my hostage." She narrowed her eyes.

"Of course. What did you expect to happen?"

He sighed. "I just got out of the hospital, I really don't feel like getting banged up fighting a youngster like you. Not to mention that I don't really have the time either." She narrowed her eyes before she burst out laughing.

"First of all, not that young, we've known eachother a while. We were even in that damned war together. Secondly, do you even know how damned old that makes you sound?" She laughed again, wiping a stray tear from her eye.

He smirked. "Well then, I guess I'll have to speed things up with this." He said with a smirk as he pulled out a philosophers stone, causing her eyes to widen in panic.

"Don't panic, Yum, you have one too, remember? Right inside of you."

Before he had a chance to use it she rushed forward, making it over to him in a manner of seconds. She swung her fists at him but he dodged from side to side quickly. She was quicker. She slapped the back of his hand causing him to lose hold of the stone, sending it far down over the railing. He went to use his alchemy but he wasn't fast enough.

"TOO FUCKING SLOW JACKASS!" She screamed as she fire a single bullet at him with grazed across the palm of his hand, right through the transmutation circle on his hand.

"That was a very stupid move, Elemental." She narrowed her eyes as she aimed her gun at his head. "That blind sense of rage is about to get you in a lot of trouble." She gasped as a second philosopher stone landed in his other hand, right in the middle of the transmutation circle, causing the whole place to blow up, sending her flying.

She gasped and glanced around, tears brimming in the corner of her eyes from the pain. "Yumi?"

"I'm alright...I'm fi-" She broke off as she coughed up blood. "W-where is he...Kimble...must...find...kim...ble...e..." She trailed off tiredly. She tried to drag herself forward only to gasp and turn to see there as a giant pole stuck in her chest. She squeezed her eyes tightly closed, as if to banish away the reality. She looked around and noticed the two chimeras trapped under something. She was breathing heavily and quickly placed her hand against the floor causing several earth hands to come up from the ground and push the things trapping the chimeras up and away from them, freeing the two.

"She saved us?"

"Don't...get teh wrong...idea..." She gasped out, wincing from the pain. She glared up at the two chimeras as they came closer. "I cant...pull this out...on my...own...It needs to...be out of...me...for Mizzz...to...heal...it..."

"Damn kid. It may not heal completely. This is a pretty serious wound."

"I...don't care..."

"We were enemies just five minutes ago and now you're asking us to save your life?"

"You...owe me one...for...saving you..." She gasped out.

"She has a point." The gorilla supported her while the lion positioned himself in front of her.

"You know, kid, you'll bleed out pretty quickly once this thing is out of you." He commented.

"Not if...I stop fighting...and let...Miz...take control..."

"Miz?"

"She's the...Homunculus...part...of me...She'll save our life." Yumi explained. "Now hurry up...and pull it out." He sighed and grabbed the end of the pole tightly before he pulled it out at a painfully slow pace. She screamed every moment of it, and the moment it was completely out she smiled. "You;re up...Miz..." She closed her eyes and relaxed her shoulders, letting her consciousness slip away from her.

"Ah. Okay, kid." Misery said, opening her purple eyes and allowing the red electricity to do it's job and heal her. She glanced down at the wound in surprise to see that it wasn't completely healed. Yes, it had stopped bleeding but around the wound was still very pink where the skin hadn't healed and there was a long scar there, not to mention her clothes hadn't healed with it either. "I warned her." She grumbled as she shakily got to her feet.

"Where are you going?" He questioned.

"I have to...go after...kim...bleee" Misery gasped, collapsing to her knees. "Otherwise, he'll get away. I'll never hear the end of it."

"You idiot!" The gorilla snapped. "There's no way you'll be able to fight him in your condition." He added as he looped one of her arms around his neck while the lion loops her other arm around his neck.

"So...you unemployed now?" She whispered.

"Hn? Yeah. I guess we are, since that freak nearly got us killed." She grinned.

"Wanna...come with me then?"

Hm?" They stared at her a minute before smiling slightly. "Sure thing, kid. At least until your 100% again."

"Stop calling me kid. I'm over 100 years old." She grumbled.

The promise that should never have been made,
Will try to steal our future yet again today.
Even if I gain the things that I wanted,
I honestly, still am not able to smile at all.
The pouring tears are not from weakness or regret,
It is born from the shards of all the pain.

No matter how time goes, fate goes along,
I know that there is only one thing, that is truly sure to me.
Thinking to myself, and being lost in this moment for so long,
I am, going to move forward.

The switch of my heart's landmine that I have wanted isn't off,
I want to change this future, so please see this with a common melody

Sorry if this seemed really shattered and rushed. I don't know whats up with me right now. I could've made it SO MUCH MORE DESCRIPTIVE! Fight scenes are meant to be my SPECIALTY! Maybe I'm just tired or something, I'm gonna go to bed as soon as I post this instead of staying up until 3 am again. I will tell you that I am super excited for a specific chapter. It'll be chapter 43/44 not sure yet, but it'll be awesome! I've been planning this chapter for nearly a year, nearly since the beginning of this story. G'night my lovelies!

Please don't forget to review!

I'll try to update tomorrow, I MIGHT be going out with my bf if he's in town. If I do then I'll just stay up till 3 am to get at least two chapters up tomorrow. :D G'night, dears!
