Lan Fan was being ruthless in her assault on Gluttony. Cutting off limbs, cutting open his stomach, everything and anything she could think of, she did. Ling joined in as well, rushing over to her and punching Gluttony away from her.
"My lord!"
"We can catch up later! Let's finish him off!" Yumi jumped up into a tree branch to watch the whole thing. They were running around Gluttony, freaking him out as he kept whirling around to try and see them. She blocked out all sounds. She just wanted to rest her mind for a bit, to not have to listen to anything anymore.
"Really, kid?"
"Yes, really. I'm not listening." She said and closed her eyes. She gasped as she saw the lights come on in the town. "Shit." She grumbled.
"Ed and the chimeras can handle it." Misery said.
"Really? You really think so?"
"Don't go yet. The best way you can help them is by staying here. Unless you want Greed to be caught off guard again." She sighed.
"Low blow."
"No more, no more, no more." Gluttony whimpered, crying like a baby. Yumi noticed a big blue flash of light.
"A flash bomb? That's creative." She mused aloud before she sprung forward, towards the light.
"Did you see the bright light, Pride?" She heard Gluttony ask the small, yet powerful Homunculus.
"You;re pushing your luck." Pride growled out.
"Heh." She smirked. "Well. I guess with the light back, theres no use in not using this anymore." She smirked as she stood up, but then halted. "Hm... I think I'll hold off to see how this plays out." Misery said with a grin, eyes turning purple as she grabbed control of the body. Black tendrils circled around Gluttony, like little hands.
"No! Please don't do it Pride!" Yumi's eyes snapped open, now blue again as she stared in shock. The shadowed mouth snapped Gluttony in half, the tendrils stabbing at Gluttony's philosopher stone and feeding off of it.
Yumi stared in horror at him as the little boy licked his lips. "Please don't eat me! Ah!" Gluttony was gone in the blink of an eye.
"He's devoured him! One of his own kind!" Ling exclaimed, curling his hand into a tight fist as he let his ultimate shield spread.
"Ah. This should make things much easier. I can practically smell every movement you make." Pride said with a laugh. "I could do without the ravenous hunger, but I suppose I'll just have to see to it." He sniffed the air. "I recognize that scent. You;re somewhere close by, aren't you, Hohenheim." He smirked. "Tell me something, Edward. Do you think your father would step forward to save you if I chopped off one of your limbs?" He suddenly started to attack with his tendrils quickly, stabbing at them furiously.
"Look out!" She heard Greed yell suddenly, this snapping her out of her trance of ding nothing. Ed was pressed against the very tree that she was perched in. She dropped down to the ground and used her own shadows to block Pride's attack.
Pride grinned and then went for attacking Greed, driving him back until he found himself perched in a tree. Yumi narrowed her eyes and flicked her wrist, causing a tornado to surround her, when the smoke cleared she was gone. She came down, shadows in the shape of a sword, and cut the shadows aimed at Greed away from him.
"Young Lord!" Lan Fan exclaimed.
"Not quite." Yumi muttered.
"The names Greed." Greed said, flashing her a toothy grin.
"It's you. Give the Prince his body back!" She snapped.
"Now why would I want to do something like that?" Greed replied causing Yumi to facepalm.
"Will the two of you shut up!? Now's not the time for this!" She snapped.
"Oh, boy. Heads up!" Greed warned. Yumi glanced up in time to see one of Pride's attacks coming towards her. She held her hands up causing the air to form a barrier, holding back the attack.
"If you're going to do something, Greed." She gasped out, her voice strained. "Now is the time to do it." She added as she put all her strength into holding back the tendril with the eyes and teeth. Greed nodded and he jumped down from the tree, away from the dangerous situation. "Okay. Here goes nothing." She swiftly released her hold on it and the moment she did she ducked and rolled down the trunk of the tree, landing lightly on her feet beside Greed. She noticed tendrils appearing on either side of Heinkel and the old man, Fu.
Greed took one side and she took the other, using her guns to block the attack before she landed on her feet. "Get him out of here!" She ordered swiftly.
"Sorry I couldn't kill the little bastard." Heinkel said causing Misery to smirk, the purple eyes a dead give away that it was her.
"Heh. Don't worry about it." Misery said with a smirk.
"We can't exactly fault you for that one." Greed said with a grin. "Even I consider him to be a monster."
"Amen to that." She said before she sighed and let Yumi take control. "That's annoying, you know?"
"Yeah yeah, shut up I gotta think." Yumi retorted.
"Gah!" Ed and Greed exclaimed as they were knocked to the ground causing her to narrow her eyes.
"Now then. I can see you much more clearly without those trees in the way." She narrowed her eyes and slowly crept behind a tree only for a bunch of shadows to zone in on her. "There's not much point in trying to hide from me. I can smell each move you make." Yumi gritted her teeth together.
"You still alive over there?" Greed asked Ed.
"Does wheezing count?"
"You really shouldn't be concerning yourself with others, Greed. As soft as you've become, I wonder how much longer you can last." Her eyes widened and she abruptly took off towards Pride. She dodged his attacks and shot at him several times. She cast tornados towards him only to get hit in the face by a shadow tendril. The force of the blow knocked her onto the ground beside Greed. He glanced at her worriedly before turning back to Pride.
"Shut up, you beast."
"What a horrific thing to say to your own brother, Greed. Honestly. I might have to eat you." Yumi's eyes widened.
"I promise that I won't go down easy, brother." Yumi narrowed her eyes and brought her hands up to attack, when the sound of footsteps approaching sounded.
"Oh, so you've decided to show yourself, eh Hohenheim?" Pride chuckled lightly.
"The hero always waits until the last second to make his move." He replied causing a look of disgust to spread across Yumi's face.
"Hero? Interesting. You must think you can defeat me." Pride said, arrogant as ever.
"No, I don't think that. I'm not dumb enough to try an fight you." A vein popped on Yumi's head.
"That sounds like hes calling us dumb." She muttered under her breath.
Pride gathered all of his tendrils around him, preparing himself. Hohenheim made towards him to attack when suddenly, Alphonse appeared, screaming as he charged towards Pride. Pride caught him in his tentacles easily.
"Are you joking? This is your pathetic plan? You should've run when you had the chance." Yumi narrowed her eyes as Al was brought to his knees by the brat. "It appears your son likes being held hostage. That, or he's supremely stupid." Pride said with a smirk.
"That's crossing a line, Pride. Nobody mocks my son." Hohenheim said with a glare as red alchemy sparked and the earth started to peel upwards. Yumi noticed Lan Fan getting swept into the sphere that was being made. Her eyes widened and she took off running, using the wind to make her go faster, despite Greed's attempts to stop her. She slammed her fist against the ground and skidded along the ground, nothing but a blur as she pushed Lan Fan out of the way, just as it closed, entrapping Yumi in there with Al and Pride.
"Yumi!" She glanced up at the wall as she heard Greed's voice.
"Greed!" She made her way over to the wall, smiling slightly. "Not much of a reunion, huh?"
"What were you doing! Get out of there right-"
"I'm a homunculus. I don;t need to breathe either." She looked away. "I'll stay in here until the promise day is over."
"Yumi, look-"
"No, Greed, you look. I will stay in here until you have saved the world. Then you can come and get me. After you've survived." She said calmly.
"...Alright. But-"
"Go." She said. "I'll see you tomorrow." She turned around and walked back to the middle of her confinement.
"There are a handful of humans, like Wrath's wife, who will die to protect the things they care about." Pride hit Al's head with a stick. "And one step up we have you and your brother, chosen to be sacrifices for the infinite strength of your spirits. You never would've left and abandoned this country. In fact, you even went as far as to bring the fight to us." Bang. "So explain to me again, how were our plans so sloppy?" Yumi narrowed her eyes in disgust at the kid before she turned away, her eyes switched from blue to purple as she sunk down into that same dark room to think.
The promise that should never have been made,
Will try to steal our future yet again today.
Even if I gain the things that I wanted,
I honestly, still am not able to smile at all.
The pouring tears are not from weakness or regret,
It is born from the shards of all the pain.
No matter how time goes, fate goes along,
I know that there is only one thing, that is truly sure to me.
Thinking to myself, and being lost in this moment for so long,
I am, going to move forward.
The switch of my heart's landmine that I have wanted isn't off,
I want to change this future, so please see this with a common melody.

THE NEXT FEW CHAPTERS WILL BE SO FUN AND EASY TO WRITE, IT IS BUILDING UP TO THE POINT OF A THING A SCENE THAT I PLANNED NEARLY A YEAR AGO! AHHHHHHH!
