Authoress Note: Hi guys I'm sorry I haven't been around but I have a busy schedule, I hope there are still people reading this and that you all love this! Again I am very sorry and I made a chapter full of fluff and stuff so I hope you like it please review it and tell me what you think. I love reading your opinions and they really help me improve, so please review.
"So where did you girls go yesterday?" Yugi asked.
I stared at him for a few seconds before turning around and walking away quietly.
"Ignore her," Mana said, "She hasn't been the same since we left her families house. She's slightly more stressed."
I silently agreed with her but kept walking away until I was on the top of the school stairs, it was lunch but there where so many club meetings the hallways were empty, which I was grateful for.
"I know that you aren't a Hikari, Willow, but lets be honest you never acted like one and you've never used magic so its not much of a surprise. However with that said you are not qualified to become a council member. I wont tell anyone but you are to resign your entry and put your sister's name instead, if you do not follow my instructions I will have to expose your secret to the entire populace. Agreed?"
I sighed deeply as what the Dean told me before I left echoed through my head, I refused to force my sister to become a royal. They ruled over the entire Hikari population and were completely hated, they fought viciously for the position of being a queen and along with that they were targeted the most which is why most of the royal council members were thirty or younger. Even though she was trained in the ways of a guardian as well as being a Hikari, Bri was nowhere near safe and maybe it was selfish but I didn't want to lose another sister, I'd rather lose my life instead.
As my phone buzzed I was snapped out of my thoughts, looking down at it I smiled slightly and picked up.
"Hey." I said.
"Busy?" Seto asked.
"Not by a long shot." I smiled.
"I think I found something for you." he said gruffly.
"No need to sound so rude." I teased. "What is it?"
"There have been a string of mass murders with no explanations around Upriver City just about four miles away from here. With a bit of hacking it seems the police only have, what they say, a dog tooth, however there's no recorded dog with that kind of tooth anywhere in the world." Seto said.
"And you think it might be them?" I asked.
"Seems like something you people handle." he said, from his voice I could practically see the eye roll that accompanied it.
"Your right, and I'm surprised I haven't heard anything about it, I'll check with HQ. But, you cant tell me that's the only reason you called." I sighed and leaned against the wall looking down at my friends, sister and Mana.
"No, I was wondering if you wanted to come pick up that necklace of yours?"
Laughing lightly I put a hand over my lips "Do you want me to drop your brother off as well?"
"No. I have a security guard for that." Seto said hesitantly.
"You cant be implying that a security guard is better than me." I scoffed.
"No I'm not, but if your persistent on bringing him go right ahead." Seto groaned.
"I will so call off your fancy limo, I'm dropping him off in my 1967 Chevelle." I grinned
"You have a 1967 Chevelle?!" he asked surprised.
"Well of course." I said rolling my eyes.
"You've gotta be kidding!" he gasped.
"Well it sounds like you're a car fanatic…" I smirked.
"Shut up." he said before realizing and coughing to cover it up, "I'll see you after school, don't forget Mokuba."
"I wont." I laughed before hanging up. "Mokuba can I talk to you?"
"Sure Will!" the kid grinned before running up to me.
"Your getting a ride home from me kay?" I asked ruffling his hair.
"Cool!" he laughed before tilting his head "Wait, I'll have to ask my brother."
"I already did." I smiled before placing a finger to my lips, he nodded and ran back to the rest of the gang.
"Now to question HQ." I whispered before hitting the speed dial number.
"Hey Will!" Mokuba called out running up to me as I leaned on the driver side door of my black car.
I smirked and ruffled his hair "Hey you ready?"
"Yeah totally! Wait aren't Bri and Mana coming?" he asked looking around.
"They're going to Atem's and Yugi's so they're gonna walk with them. Now then passenger seat kid." I grinned.
"Cool! Seto never lets me ride up front unless its an emergency!" Mokuba laughed running over to the passenger side.
"Then don't tell him." I laughed back before sliding in and starting the car.
Putting an arm behind the passenger seat, I pulled out of the parking lot and onto the main road. Mokuba laughed happily and opened the window before resting his head on the door and staring out the window. My fingers tapped against the steering wheel to the songs from Bon Jovi, they were Dante's favourites and I never bothered to take them out from our last road trip a few months ago. As we neared the huge Kaiba Corp building in the middle of town I turned down the volume, turning 'Wanted dead or alive' barely a hum.
"You ok there kid?" I asked.
Looking up kinda hazy Mokuba grinned "Yeah! I just I just dozed off a little, sorry."
I smiled back before pulling into a parking space "Its ok, now then shall we go see your brother?"
"Sure," Mokuba said getting out. "OH! I've been meaning to ask you, how do you know my brother?"
"I've known him and you since I was nine or ten." I said locking the doors and heading to the elevator with him.
"Really?!" Mokuba asked surprised "I mean you look familiar but… I'm pretty sure I'd remember a girl with blue hair!"
"I had brown hair when I was little, my father didn't want people to see my real hair color until I inherited the family company so he dyed it brown." I said as he pressed the button for the top floor.
"Brown? Wait, your one of the Night girls!" Mokuba blushed.
"Yes but why are you red?" I laughed.
"I used to have a huge crush on one of you! Well so did Seto…oops I probably shouldn't have said that!" Mokuba laughed awkwardly.
"Really? Mmm. Well I wont tell him if you wont tell anyone who I really am, deal?" I asked.
"Deal!" Mokuba laughed before running off the elevator towards his brother's office.
"Wait up kid." I said running after him.
"Hey Aaron!" Mokuba waved to the secretary.
"Hello Mokuba!" the man smiled showing off his white teeth and making his lip ring shine.
He had sun bleached blonde hair that was partially dyed pink, a series of piercing covered his ear and his eyes where bright green. I tilted my head at him before realization set in, he was a graduate from Kyuketsuki Academy, Dante's old best friend.
"Aaron?!" I asked walking up to him.
"Mmm, your familiar… No! Willow Night?! Dante's little sister? Wow you have changed!" he gasped hugging me.
"You haven't! Your still as amazing as ever! How's it going?" I asked without letting him out of the hug.
"Great. Adrian is still a douche but what can I do? At least we've got the apartment and the rent figured out, how about your family? I heard about Aria, I'm sorry." he whispered the last part and held my hands in his.
I looked away at her name "Well were all good, Dante's hard headed about asking one simple question, Bri is carefree, Mana and Mahad were reunited and my parents are still at the top of their game."
"How about you?" he asked.
"Still good I guess, maybe a little…" I trailed off as I choked on words.
"I understand, I felt the same when I lost Casey when I was nine, it'll take a long time and you wont really get over it but you will learn to find the balance again." Aaron sighed kissing my forehead.
I nodded and looked at the open door to Seto's office "I guess I should…" I pointed at the office.
"Right! Yes go! It was great to see you again! Adrian is going to be so jealous…I just hope its not like last time…" Aaron blushed.
I laughed "He's like Dante, he's hard headed but soft once you get past it."
"Though he's mostly a hard head." Aaron sighed before laughing "but then again I'm sensitive maybe that's why."
I shrugged and walked to the door before smiling "Maybe."
Walking inside I looked at the sight in front of me before laughing, Seto held Mokuba's phone above his own head while reading the text messages, Mokuba was yelling and jumping around trying to get his phone back.
"Rebecca?" Seto asked raising an eyebrow.
Mokuba turned bright red and jumped around more "Seto! No, no, no."
"Well should I leave?" I asked.
"Will." both gasped looking over at me.
Seto was the first to recover, throwing Mokuba his phone back, Seto walked around and reached into a drawer before pulling out my necklace. "This, is yours."
"I know." I said smugly taking it from him and laughing at his shocked face. "What? If you're going to state the obvious I will as well."
"Is that so?" he asked.
"Yes it is Seto." I said.
As we stood there in awkward silence staring into each others blue eyes, both of us daring the other to look away. The only noises in the room came from the low buzz of Seto's computer and Mokuba's tapping on his phone.
"How's the sales of your duel disks?" I asked breaking the silence.
"Dropping." he groaned. "People who want one have one, the rest either cant afford it or don't want it."
"Well then drop the price and create something a little different, make the holograms more realistic." I shrugged.
Seto groaned "I wish it was that simple but I need a whole new idea and all of my new ones are taking too long or are still in drafting stages."
"So you need something eye catching fast, why not just mass produce those pods?" I asked reading through his computer files.
"Too many bugs." Seto sighed.
Opening another file I smirked "Duel disks." opening the next one I rolled my eyes. "That outfit is so horrible."
"Outfits?" Seto asked looking at the screen.
Pointing to the girl I rolled my eyes "Pink? With that skirt? Its horrible!"
"Wait that picture behind her, I think its that old game Mokuba loved…Capsule Monsters… maybe if I… Yes!" he grinned before nudging me out of the way and sketching out the new product.
It looked like a huge bulky glove with a slot in the front and a place to load something into, I raise an eyebrow and steal his pencil. He tried to frighten me with his glare, rolling my eyes I slowly made it less bulkier and added a few designs around the sharp edges before writing on the top left hand corner the single word 'gold'.
"Not bad." he hummed.
"Mwa!" I winked and blew a kiss my two fingers.
Laughing slightly Seto continued to sketch it out with me stealing his pencil every now and then to change a curve or make something more attractive.
A few hours later I lay upside down on his couch texting Bri and Mana, as they filled me in on what I was missing I eyed Seto before catching his eye and looking away blushing. Mokuba had left an hour ago grumbling about being bored and going home to play video games.
"Its almost six." Seto said standing up and walking over to me.
I squinted to look up at his face thanks to the sun in my eyes "Your point?"
"I thought you'd be hungry." he shrugged.
I smirked "Are you asking me to dinner?"
"No, I'm asking you what you want from the café down stairs." he grinned.
"I'll come with you." I said moving my legs down before doing a sit up to get up.
"Fine." he shrugged.
Getting off the couch I ran behind him my hair swaying from side to side, laughing I hooked my index fingers together behind my back and looked up at Seto. "Do you usually eat here?"
Nodding he looked down at me "But some day's I will go home and eat with Mokuba before hanging out in my study for the rest of the night."
"Mmm, most people use hanging out as a term for doing nothing and I highly doubt YOU do nothing." I grinned.
"What do you want?" he asked ignoring my question and only speaking when we got to the café.
"An egg sandwich, a jumbo freezie and a medium root beer." I grinned rocking back and forth on my heels.
Seto stared at me in awe "You eat?"
I glared "What the hell does that mean?"
"From your waist most people would think you only eat a leaf for the entire day." Seto said after ordering the food.
"Kay that's extremely unhealthy and I can eat twice my weight in food for lunch and still be hungry for dinner. I am a Guardian as well, its in our genetics to not gain any weight, I've been a size zero for so long now, I've only ever gone down to a double zero because I didn't eat for a month once." I said.
As Seto finished chewing his forkful of pasta he smirked "You're interesting."
Grinning I bit into my sandwich, as we ate I explained to him about the life of a guardian and he simply asked regular questions.
"How many?" he asked after we finished eating.
Taking the freezie out of my mouth I tilted my head "How many what?"
"How many things have you killed?" he asked pressing the elevator button.
"In the past year, maybe about three hundred, give or take a few ten, but that's only because I've been involved in a large battle, so technically a war." I smiled.
Seto nodded before leaning against the elevator wall "You said they keep track of it, how?"
Unbuttoning my blazer I pulled it off and unbuttoned the last three buttons of my shirt and lifted it up to reveal the Blue Eyes White Dragon tattoo on the lower right part of my abdomen, beside it was a series of X's.
"Every 'X' is ten." I said.
Seto reached out a hand before drawing back quickly "It looks like two hundred and eighty, but why do you have a Blue Eyes on you?"
"I've always loved the dragon, I don't know why." I smiled before grabbing his hand. "And it doesn't hurt or feel like anything, I don't care if you wanna touch the tattoos."
Seto reached out and ran his thumb over my X's before brushing it over the Blue Eyes head, after he pulled away I buttoned the shirt and simply put the blazer on without buttoning it.
"What about you?" I asked.
"What do you mean?" he asked.
"You have a tattoo don't you?" I smiled.
He stared at me in surprise "How did you..?"
"Because, nobody else stares at the detail that much unless they have one or want one." I shrugged.
"Yeah, I have one on my lower back and one on the back of my neck. No one has ever seen them, not the girls I've been with, not even Mokuba." Seto said with finality.
I nodded understanding what he meant "So how's the prototype going?"
"I cant do the damn designs." he growled.
"I'll do it." I smirked.
"Its nine! You are seriously late!" Bri yelled at me as I walked into the hotel room.
"Sorry." I shrugged.
"I have a boyfriend!" Mana screamed hugging me.
"I figured you might!" I laughed hugging her.
"Will, you ok?" Bri asked.
"Not exactly, Bri, the Dean found out that I have no Hikari in me and you're going to have to put you name instead." I sighed.
Bri nodded with determination in her eyes "I'll do it."
"Bri.."
"No Will, I have to and I want to now," reaching over to me she held my hands in hers and smiled sweetly. "I don't want you to protect me all the time, you have been ever since Aria and it has to stop, I know your terrified of losing another one of us but I promise you that you wont ok?"
Sighing I nodded "Fine, I'll let you, but I'm not going to stop trying to protect you, got it?"
"Will…"
"No that's final Bri." I said walking away before closing the door to the bathroom.
After getting into the shower I put my hair in front of my face before running it back with my fingers. It was starting to annoy me, it was too long and too blue, turning off the water I wrapped a towel around myself and looked at my now waist length hair. Grabbing the scissors I cut it so that it was just under my chest, looking down at all the blue hair surrounding me I looked back at my reflection. Pulling the front part of my hair to my face I cut them shorter, nodding slightly I crouched down and opened the cupboard before reaching into the back of it and grabbing the bottle of lavender hair dye. Closing my eyes as I shook the bottle to mix it together I shot them open and started to dye parts of my hair.
"Will?!" Bri gasped when she saw me in the morning.
"Morning." I smirked grabbing a piece of toast with jam on it.
Mana stared at me in awe before smirking "Dante's gonna flip…"
"But it is really pretty and it suits you…" Bri grinned.
"At least its only the tips, but why did you cut your beautiful long hair?" Mana asked.
"It was too long." I shrugged.
Bri pulled at the shorter front strands and smiled "I like how these are also tip dyed, can we do mine as well? Just green for me."
"Oh! I want pink!" Mana giggled.
Nodding I ran a hand through my hair and pulled it to the side "Lets go to school."
"Whoa! That looks amazing Will!" the gang yelled feeling my hair.
I stood there awkwardly as they felt my hair and rolled my eyes as I got glares from other students and teachers.
"You know that this is against the rules right?" Ms. Chrono had asked me in first period.
I had simply shrugged "Only a few weeks left anyway."
"Will, Bri, Mana." someone called out.
Turning around I smiled at Dante "Hey Dante."
His jaw dropped when he saw me and he stopped dead in his tracks before his eyes turned cold and he walked towards me and grabbed my arm. "You have gotta be…"
"Willow!" Renee screamed running up and mauling me before sending glares at Dante.
"Bri…" Dante turned for an explanation.
As Bri explained, Renee started to stroke my hair and say something about it being silky and amazing, ignoring all of them I stared at the top of KC.
"What do you want Dante?" I asked after a while breaking my siblings conversation.
"Oh right, we're here for one reason. HAPPY BIRTHDAY!" he smirked before hugging me and picking me up onto his shoulder.
My eyes widened, with everything going on I had forgotten about my birthday "Right…"
"You forgot didn't you?" Renee laughed.
"Maybe." I smiled scratching the back of my head.
"Here." Mana grinned giving me a small bag.
Raising an eyebrow I opened it before my eyes widened and I jumped her with a hug "How did you afford this?!"
"I have my ways." she shrugged.
"What is it?" Bri asked looking over my shoulder before grinning widely.
Pulling it out of the bag I held it up to the sun and watched as it turned from white to blue, it was a small blue and black batman key chain. There were only about four of them ever made making them rare and expensive, even for the sister of the man who owned the world's fifth largest music industry.
"Wow." Atem grinned kissing Mana's cheek.
She blushed and squealed quietly as she hugged him "Thank you!"
"Hey Seto." I smiled walking into his office two days later.
"Hey." he grinned "Its Saturday, you cant tell me a girl like you doesn't have anything better to do than hang out in an office."
"I could say the same about you." I laughed walking up and sitting on his desk with my feet on the side of his chair.
"I have a company to run." he shrugged.
"Well then, I'll stay as well, but lets make it a little more fun." I grinned reaching into my pocket and pulling out my phone, Bri had gotten me the phone I wanted for a long time, a Blackberry Q10.
Playing Uncle Kracker 'You make me smile' I grabbed Seto's hand and pulled him up.
"Wha..?" he grunted.
"You need a break." I laughed.
"What are you going to make me do?" he groaned.
"Nothing if you don't want to do anything." I shrugged before laughing and singing.
"At least these offices are soundproof." he joked.
"Rude!" I grumbled.
He laughed "You have a good voice but I'd rather my worker not hear singing from my office."
I smiled and nodded "I guess its understandable."
"But you do have a great voice Will." he said.
Laughing I stood between him and his desk and wrapped my arms around his neck "What about you?"
"Cant sing, I can play guitar and piano though." he said.
Laughing I dragged him into the middle of the office before grabbing a blank paper with just a page number on it out of the recycling, giving it to him I grabbed one for myself and folded it into a plane.
"Come on, you cant say you've never wanted to do this." I laughed opening the huge window.
Getting down onto my knees I motioned for Seto to come sit as well, it surprised me how easily he came and even more when his paper was also a plane.
"You first oh great CEO." I teased.
"Fine." he smirked launching it.
As we watched it float down both of us pressed our noses to the window, suddenly a gust of wind blew and it landed in some lady's hat. Both of us laughed loudly as she looked around oblivious to what hit her before she shrugged and kept walking with it in her hat.
"Wait I have an idea, get as many of them as you can that don't have anything that says Kaiba Corp on it." I smiled getting up and running to his desk to grab a pen.
"What are you doing?" he asked as I wrote on the papers he gave me.
"Well I think its neat if they have something on them." I shrugged holding up a plane with writing on it.
" 'Shine bright'?" he asked.
I grinned "I'm horrible at this kay?"
Rolling his eyes he made the planes while I wrote, when we had about fifteen we ran to the window to launch them. Laughing at the quotes on them we threw them down.
"You suck at throwing paper planes." Seto laughed.
"I could probably throw you across the room." I smirked.
"Great, but you still wont be able to throw a paper airplane." he laughed.
"Teach me then." I shrugged.
Reaching around me Seto grabbed my hand and held it up "Go light, make it glide don't make it go flying, its in the wrist and your grip so loosen it."
I blushed lightly but followed his tips "Like that?"
"Less force." he whispered.
I nodded and picked up another one, with his help I launched it out the window and watched as it sailed down and landed on the ground in front of a man in a suit. He looked at it and grinned before launching it himself.
"We created a chain!" I smiled looking at him before blushing even harder when our noses touched.
Letting go of me he stood up and looked down "That was the last one."
"Yeah it was." I said looking down at my legs.
"Is the break over?" he asked.
I shrugged "I guess so."
Kneeling down he lifted my chin and smiled softly "It was fun though."
Grinning I hugged him "Yay!"
