"Penny for your thoughts, Archer?" came Cyra's voice as she approached the Gorgonite Leader. With the down time before they had to prepare to face the Commandos, the Gorgonites had decided to relax and settle into Alan's room once more. Each had found a certain activity to occupy themselves with. It was better than pondering what Chip Hazard had in mind for revenge against them, to say the least.
Archer had taken to the window seal of the room, sitting on the edge and watching the world outside the window. He had been deep in thought. While his brothers and sisters were occupying themselves and trying to avoid thinking of the commandos, their leader couldn't.
The leader was so deep in thought, trying to figure out what the commando had in store for him and his Gorgonites. It was fair from pleasant that was for sure. He was so deep in thought he didn't hear the other as she approached.
"I'm sorry Cyra," he began rubbing his neck,"Just thinking."
"About the Commandos?" she smiled before settling down next to him,"I don't think you are alone there in your thoughts."
Archer followed the female's gaze to the other. His brothers and sisters were getting to know one another, talking and chatting away happily. They looked calm and blissfully unaware on the surface but Cyra knew better. All their thoughts were on their enemy.
"Everyone is thinking of Chip and his Commandos." Cyra said looking back to Archer with a small smile,"It is the burden of a leader to worry but if you worry too much they will worry even more. It's best to just relax for now while we can."
"I don't think I can." Archer sighed with a light frown. He knew she was right, he didn't need to stress his fellow Gorgonites out over this any more than they were. But he couldn't relax not with the thoughts that plagued his mind. No, he need to figure out what Chip was thinking and stop him before hand.
A hand reached out as it rested against the one at his side, Archer looking up at Cyra. He didn't understand it much but that simple act seemed to calm him down.
"Try." she simply stated,"For them."
Both looked out to the Gorgonites. Insaniac and Opal seemed to be rather interested in one another, the speedier Gorgonite telling joke after joke as the other laughted more and more. Baron was talking to Scratch-It and Punch-It, Baron and Punch-It watching Scratch-It as she hopped up and down on the bed. Craigrock, Nightshade, Ocula, and Slamfist were busy watching TV. Alan having to step in and remove Ocula from the TV screen when the little Gorgonite attached himself to it. Lastly was Weaver and Troglokhan, seeming to sit in silence with one another and watching their fellow Gorgonites.
Archer smiled softly. He didn't want to disturb this. Maybe, he should wait to worry about what Chip was up to and take a breather. The leader was certainly glade they had got away the first time unschaved. They had their new siblings to thank for that.
"I didn't thank you properly for earlier." the leader began as his attention shifted to Cyra.
"You mean the rescue?" Cyra asked with a raised brow.
"Yes, without you we would've b-?" he was about to answered before being silenced by two fingers pressed to his lips. He gave the SIC a confused look before she just chuckled lightly.
"There is no need to thank us, Archer." she smiled slowly removing her fingers from their spot to the leader's cheek,"We are brethern after all. Family."
"I guess, still...thank you." he smiled back as he found himself leaning into the touch. Maybe he should follow the other example and get to know the other? After all, Cyra was essentially his second-in-command.
"So, shall we join the others?" he asked curiously.
"I actually like it up here for now." Cyra answered with a small smile,"It makes one forget their worries almost."
"It does, doesn't it?" Archer smiled back. He had jumped slightly when the female had scooted closer, laying her head on his shoulder. It took a few moments before he relaxed slowly and wrapped an arm around her.
It was...odd. This feeling he felt as they sat there, Cyra laying against his shoulder and his arm wrapped around her. He hadn't felt this before. What was he even feeling? It was hard to say really. How does one go about explaining a feeling they never had?
His eyes slowly turned from looking out the window to the female gorgonite. The feeling seemed to be connected to her and he didn't mind that one bit. His hand tightened slightly as it held her, pulling her as close as he could to himself. There would be a time for explination later. For now, he just wanted to sit there and hold Cyra close.
"See...this is better than worrying." Cyra hummed softly as she nuzzled against him. Archer couldn't help but chuckle in response.
"It would appear so." he smiled.
"I can't believe we lost to a bunch of cowards!" came the frustrated shout from Nuke as the commando went to kick at the consel. It was an embarrassement for them. How could they loose to the Gorgonites? They were suppose to be the 'good guys'. Good Guys didn't loose and especially to cowards like that.
"Calm down." Link stated as he watched his fellow commando kick parts away. They were all frustrated. The plan that Chip had cooked up was flawless, so where did it go wrong? And now, there were even more Gorgonites.
"Look, bitchin' 'bout it ain't gonna change it." Brick huffed as he handed Link parts to his latest communincation device. He wanted to join Nuke, but decided it was better to try and salvage what they could of their diginity. Plus prepping for the next time they fought the enemy. This time they would be prepared. Heavily prepared.
"Besides Nuke," Bonnie started as she stood up and stretched her arms above her head,"If anyone haz zeh right to be furious, it's Chip."
"Yeah," nodded Kip in agreement,"Ya don't see the Boss loosin' 'is cool do ya?"
"I guess." Nuke muttered before shooting a questionable stare,"But that's the thing...why ain't he? If I were him I'd be beyond pissed...so why is he so damn calm?!"
"Ya wanna know why soldier?" the group jumped as they turned to face their commander as he spoke. Chip was still wearing the same grin he had after picking himself up from the recent blunder. It honestly kind of creeped them out.
"Well?" he asked when he didn't receive an answer.
"Well...kind o'...I mean," Link began rubbing the back of his neck,"Why ya so cheery when we lost, sir?"
"That simple soldier." Chip chuckled as he hopped down from the upper grounds and walked towards them. All them were immedently up and on their feet as he approached. They were all curious, that much was clear to them. What did Chip have planned?
"Sir?" Bonnie questioned.
"I want this revenge to last." he began,"It be too easy to make them simply pay by killing them off the bat. Where's the fun if they don't have some fear or regret?"
"So...you're going to crush them slowly?" asked Kip.
"WE'RE going to crush them slowly." Chip corrected,"WE'RE going to make them wish they were never created. Besides, today proved very valueable."
"How so? We got out asses kicked." Nuke huffed.
"True, but we learned that they have 'new recruites' now." Chip nodded,"They had the element of surprise before but now, their numbers are exposed."
"But don't they outnumber us?" Brick added before holding up two fingers,"Plus they got them kids again with 'em."
"They may have numbers gentlemen and lady," Chip began,"But we have the element of fear. You remember the tape?"
"Ja." Bonnie nodded along with the rest.
"They only know we're back and out for blood," he smirked more,"But that's all. They don't know what our next move is and that fear will drive them crazy. That is what we're going to do troops. We're going to make them fear every second of their miserable lives...till the last."
"I can't believe this is happening again." Alan sighed as he headed downstairs with Christy.
The Gorgonites had all but turned in for the night, the teen taking extra precautions that the windows were locked. Didn't need the Commandos coming in after all though he was pretty sure if they really wanted to, they'd just bust through the glass.
"I know," sighed Christy as she flopped next to her boyfriend,"I keep wondering if I'll wake up soon."
"You and me both, babe." he nodded before wrapping an arm around her shoulder,"And there is still so much that needs to be answered. Like how Chip ever survived in the first place, last I recalled we fried his ass."
"That and where he got the chips to make more Commandos." Christy added.
They were still many questions that needed to be answered. Chip shouldn't even be here much less remember what happened last time. If there was a possibility that some of the factory toys got mixed up with the military ones, this Chip shouldn't know anything that happened. He should be basically be how the Commandos first were when they came alive, hunting Gorgonites as per their toy roles.
But no, Chip remembered and Chip was pissed. Which was understandable to say the least. Who wouldn't be after you got fried?
"UGH! This is stupid!" Alan hissed lightly as he ran his hand through his hair.
"I know," his girlfriend began as she planted a gentle kiss to his cheek,"But we'll figure this out."
"I hope so." he sighed,"Think Irwin might know anything about this?"
"It's worth a shot." Christy nodded,"Still got his number?"
"Yeah, I just got to find it." he answered before getting up to go check. Christy decided to wait on the couch, flipping on the TV and going through the channels.
"Miss Christy?" came the small voice as she turned in her seat as Cyra came into view. She immdently muted the sounds before getting up and heading over to the toy as she stood on the last step.
"Is something wrong Cyra?" she asked.
"No, nothing like that Miss Christy." Cyra smiled as she fiddled with her hair,"I was just going to ask if you had any blankets?"
"Blankets?" it wasn't an odd request but she didn't think the toys would need any,"Can I ask why?"
"Well, I hate to be a bother but it is rather chilly in Mister Alan's room." Cyra began to explain,"And I do hate to see my Kin shivering."
"O-Oh, okay." Christy nodded before getting up.
She carefully picked the female gorgonite up before proceeding upstairs. The blankets were easy enough to find, packed away in the hall closet just encase anyone needed them. She pulled out two, a thin one and a quilted one before heading with Cyra to Alan's room.
With a little aid from Cyra, they managed to place the sleeping Gorgonites all in one spot and under the blankets. All them instantly curled into the warmth and gave a sigh of relief, making Christy raise a brow in curiosity.
"That's better." the SIC smiled as she gently patted her sleeping daughter's head,"Thank you Miss Christy."
"It was nothing...just ask if you need anything else." she smiled softly as Cyra nodded.
She got up and headed for the door, pausing briefly as she watched the little toy climb under the sheets and close to Archer. Closing the door she hurried down the stairs, taking two steps at a time before she was back in the living room. She was greeted with the sight of Alan, already back and with an address book in hand.
"Where'd you wonder off to?" he asked as he looked up from flipping through the pages,"I managed to find my mom's address book. Irwin's number should be in here."
"Ah, good." Christy smiled as she sat down to help.
"What's wrong?" Alan asked when he noticed the look she had going on. It wasn't of worry or anything like that. It was one of confusion. The blonde turned to her boyfriend as she though over how to ask.
"...can the Gorgonites feel?" she asked.
