Chapter 8

Normal Day?

"So to get the value of x and y you must…" Blah Blah... The teacher keeps mumbling nonsense as my eyes keep on opening and closing. I am currently forcing my body to stay awake as I play with the strands of my blonde hair.

Everyone in my class is very tired and some are already snoring on their desks. I wonder what's with this teacher, not minding even if all of his students are not listening to his non ending discussions.

Krrriiiiiiiing

The bell rang and everyone quickly got up from their seats and went out the doors. I was left back with arms stretching wide and I stifled a yawn as I pushed back my chair and got up.

"Hmmmm…. I really need to sleep." I said to no one in particular.

"Keep it down will you Luce…." I looked over to my left and saw Natsu burying his face onto his desk. I chuckled a bit and slammed a book down the wooden surface.

"AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHH!" He shot his head and up and screamed as I laughed.

"Hahaha…. Get up sleepy head! It's currently break time so move around a bit."

"Just leave me alone Lucy… I just want to crawl somewhere comfortable and sleep peacefully." He pulled my arm and wrapped his arms around my waist. I struggled to get out from his grip but what happened next shocked me.

"Hmmmmm…. Lucy you're so soft…" He mumbled as he buried his face onto my breasts. He had a big grin on his face as his eyes were shut close.

"Oi Natsu! Where do you think you're putting your head on?!

"Hm?"

"Pervert!" I quickly kicked him in the leg and stomped away as he cowered in pain at a corner.

Flipping my hair, I walked through the halls trying to avoid any contact as possible from anyone. No one seemed to be even aware of their surroundings while they keep on walking like lifeless dolls. Almost anyone here had the mark of being a victim by that horrid game.

I continued walking through the halls when I felt a little tap at my back. I quickly turned around and saw a little blue haired girl with big brown eyes staring at me. She trembled a bit as she bit her tongue from trying to say some few words.

"Lucy Heartfilia-san?" She softly spoke and I can't help but smile at her as I nodded back. Her face then suddenly brightened up and quickly gave a small white envelope to me with excitement.

"This is for you! Someone dropped it by the office yesterday afternoon and I was tasked to give it to you today." I took the letter from her hands and she bowed her head as I said my thanks. After a few seconds, she took off and ran to somewhere else.

I stared at the small white thing on my hands and when I saw the neat calligraphy on it, I definitely knew whom this was from. I ran to a secluded corner and ripped the paper quickly trying to force the small folded paper out as soon as possible. When I was finally able to do so, I read the very short message it contained.

"You've got to be kidding me…" I grumbled as I crumpled the envelope and message in my hands and left the corner to go to the incinerator outside. I watched the paper burn as the words continued to play back inside my mind like a broken CD. I didn't expect to get a message from that person but there was no way I'll follow what he ordered me too. No- not anymore.

I turned on my heels and went back inside the building after making sure that it all burned into ashes. No one should ever see that. Never.

I released a breath that I didn't even know I was holding when I saw that petite blue haired girl again running around the high school building. She was desperately avoiding the huge students walking through the halls as she sped down the stairs and kept looking at her watch. I silently chuckled from where I stood when I heard a familiar laughter from the back of my head.

"Oi! You guys are cheaters! Cheaters!"

"Haha just admit you're slow in catching us!"

"Will not!"

HAHAHAHAHA

I closed my eyes and supported myself on the wall and leaned my head to my right palm. My head was currently undergoing a massive head ache and it got even worse as those various child voices continued to ring inside my head.

"Haha now you're it! Catch me if you can!"

"Just wait until I catch you!"

"If you can chase me that is!"

"Hey who's that?"

"Huh? OH yeah who is that?"

"Don't know…"

"Hey you!"

"Oh… That person hid behind the tree."

"Way to go stupid! You scared that kid."

"Did not!"

"Lucy?" The chain of voices broke when I felt a hand on my shoulder and saw Natsu behind me with a worried face. "Are you hurt anywhere?"

I stood up straight and released myself from my grip. I forced a smile on my face as the pain quickly subdued. Somehow, I felt a bit hot and sweaty after that head ache.

"Not really. Just a little head ache." I laughed but it took a while before he smiled and pulled me right beside him.

"Hey what are you doing?" I tried to kick his leg again but this time he carried me like a sack of rice on his shoulders.

"Natsu put me down this instant!"

"No way! I'm hungry and you're treating me."

"What? Whoever said I'd treat you?"

"You did Luce!" He gave me a toothy grin and began running through the halls.

"SINCE WHEN?"

"Since I became your best friend!"

Huh? Best Friend? Really? Natsu? O_O

"Come on Luce! It's back ribs today!"

"Natsu you Idiot!

"That's why I like you Lucy!" He then slapped my butt hard and I punched his back many times due to embarrassment.

Come on… You guys won't consider that as sexual harassment? I will but this was a first for this dense dragon slayer carrying me on his shoulders.

Well… This could be a start of many firsts…
