Chapter 9

Spring

A/N: P.O.V. not indicated. ;)

"Here you go missy." I took the box of cupcakes from the grinning old man and handed the right amount of jewels.

"Thank you." I smiled and turned to leave the small shop, smelling of coffee beans and bread.

The small bell rang as I stepped out of the door and I took a deep breath right away of the clean river passing through the city of Magnolia. This city was too perfect to be true and I can't imagine it to be polluted or over crowded. Yes, I really do love living here and I won't mind if this will be the place where I'll lay to rest. How I miss this place!

I made small steps on the stone pavement, saying hi to people along the way. The box on my hand was swaying slowly from side to side as I hummed a familiar tune from my childhood.

Hmm Hmmm Hmmm

If I'm not mistaken, this song is Spring by Vivaldi. I used to hear it being played by someone. A girl maybe? I can't really remember though for it was only for a short span of time yet this tune keeps on lingering within my mind.

I continue to walk and take in the beautiful scenery of Magnolia, while kicking some stray pebbles along the way. I would also hop and skip from time to time but the stares I get from people from doing such actions would paint my face a color of red due to embarassment.

Still on walking around, I saw a small flower shop at the corner of the street, overflowing with colorful bunches of flowers. It emitted a sweet smell that would tickle my nose yet I smiled as I remember the field of flowers me and my friends used to play in. I wonder. . . Can we visit there once again?

A man came out of the shop and looked at me while he dropped the sack he was carrying around on the ground. He took a few steps forward and picked out the white rose infront of me then held it between his gloved fingers while he returned his gaze to me.

"Aren't you supposed to be in school?" He handed me the single white rose and I gladly accepted it with a sweet smile.

"Oh yes but I'm not expected to come in until tomorrow." The man nodded his head and went back to his work while I continued on my way.

"School. Should I just go today? But judging from the time. . ." I glanced at my watch and found that it was past three in the afternoon. "Hmm. It wouldn't hurt to surprise them."

Immediately, I turned on my heels and ran to the opposite direction which led to the famous academy in Magnolia which is Fairy Academy.

As soon as I enetered the gates, I immediately passed through the students which were making their way home.

After a few twists and turns and a lot of stairs, I took a second to catch my breath still carrying the box of cupcakes in my hands.

Student Council Room was engraved on a bronze plate outside the door I'm standing infront of.

Slowly turning the knob clockwise, the door creaked open and I saw an unfamiliar girl inside. Wait. . . She's not part of the council and I don't remember her from around here. Is she new?

I pushed the door wider open and she turned her head as she placed down some papers on Erza's desk.

"Hi can I help you?" She asked with a smile and I quickly returned it too.

"Yes. I'm looking for Erza and the others." I walked in and closed the door behind me. The girl walked over and offered me to sit on the couch which I did.

"They are out for the moment but I'm sure they'll be back soon. I just dropped some papers here and I'm heading my way out now." I nodded in return which made the girl smile even more.

"So are you new here? I haven't seen you around the campus before." I shook my head to her question and smiled.

"No I'm not." She also nodded and held her hand out to me.

"If that's the case. . . I am Lucy Heartfilia. And you are?" I reached out and shook her hand in return with a big smile.

"I am Lisanna Strauss." Heartfilia. . . Now where have I heard of that name before?

A/N: Short update but very important. Sorry for the long wait everyone. Ran out of ideas.
