A/N: Hey everyone! Here's chapter 14. Like I said in the last chapter, this is sort of setting everything up for the end of our story. Kind of... Anyway, I promise the action picks up in chapter 15! haha.
I just finished writing the last chapter of Untouchable today, and let me say... It was an emotional experience! ha. I can't believe we're nearing the end of this run with 1.6k reads & more than 50 follows! Thank you so much for believing in my story & continuing to read it, even through the crappy bits! haha. x S.

The first thing Tessa noticed when she walked inside her house was how quiet it was. Of course, no one was home, but the silence seemed... Unearthly. Still. Wrong.

She stayed close to Dean, practically stepping on his heels as she followed him into the kitchen. Sam was currently looking around the living room, and neither brother would let Tessa go on her own.

"Oh, I almost forgot," Dean turned for the first time since the hand incident to look at Tessa. He rummaged around in the duffel bag he'd brought in and pulled out a gun. "Salt gun. I don't think we'll be needing 'em, but just in case."

Tessa took the unfamiliar weapon into her hands and turned it over a few times. Even though it wasn't loaded with bullets, the gun could still do a good bit of damage. Growing up, her father hadn't been into hunting, so Tessa had never even held a weapon of any sorts until now.

"It's not gonna bite you, Tess," Dean teased, reaching out and taking the gun from her. She was grateful to have the object out of her hands.

"This is how you load it, but there should be enough rounds in here to last you a while. This is the safety lock, and it's on right now. You turn it off like this," Dean demonstrated. "And you cock it, and aim, then fire. Here, practice aiming."

Dean handed Tessa the gun. She held it up, careful to put the safety back on, and tried to line it up. Of course, she was very unsuccessful.

"No, no. You're not lining it up. Look," Dean came behind Tessa, wrapping his hands over hers as he stood behind her. "Focus on getting it exactly even, and try not to shake. Steadiness is the key."

Dean's breath was warm against Tessa's ear, and she suppressed a shiver. He was close, too close, and she feared that her already weak legs would collapse into jelly any second. It was confusing, but strangely wonderful, the effect that Dean had on Tessa.

"Just like that. You're a natural, Tess." Dean was grinning, Tessa could tell. She turned her head ever so slightly, still caught in his arms.

"Oh yeah? Maybe someday I'll be better than the great Dean Winchester," Tessa smirked, playfully sticking her tongue out at Dean.

"Why don't you put that little smart mouth of yours where your money is?" Dean carelessly set the gun on the kitchen counter, then drew Tessa into his arms again and kissed her hard.

This kiss was different than before, more frantic and rough, but Tessa would not have changed a thing. The way Dean's rough and calloused hands caressed her face, and the way she wrapped her dirty hands around his neck, it was all perfect. He was perfect.

All of Tessa's earlier angers and fears were gone in an instant. All that mattered was how close she could press her small body to Dean, how they could mold their bodies together. She knew no worry in that moment, because she was safe.

Dean's lips were surprisingly soft, an observation that Tessa reveled in as she continued to kiss him. He was rough, but somehow so very gentle with her. Dean slid his hands down from Tessa's face to her hips, and his large fingers nearly covered the entire surface when spread.

"What the hell?" Tessa and Dean jumped apart, the latter running his hands through his hair in embarrassment. Sam was standing in the kitchen doorway, his face contorted with surprise and confusion.

"Oh my god, um-" Tessa began, her face flaming with embarrassment as her eyes flitted back and forth from the two Winchester brothers.

For once in his life, Dean seemed to be at a loss for words. There was no clever remark to be made, no cover story readily available. Sam had caught the two in the act, and the look on his face told Dean that he realized what was happening. For the first time in his life, Dean Winchester was falling for a girl.

This time, he wasn't trying to just get in her pants. He was truly feeling something deep inside himself, different from the type of love you reserve for family, for Tessa. The kicker was, they'd only known each other for a day. Dean hardly knew anything about Tessa, hell, he didn't even know her favorite color, for God's sake. It was completely ridiculous.

"I was just, uh, showing Tess how to use a gun," Dean's story was feeble, and he knew it. Sam knew it too.

"Okay, then. Well, why you two were in here "practicing", I was checking out the rest of the house. From what i could tell, it all seems to be pretty quiet. I think we knocked out Rose for good."

As soon as Sam spoke, Tessa heard the distinctive sound of a car door slamming in the driveway. Panic took over her body, and she quickly began pushing Sam and Dean towards the back door. They were halfway off of the porch when she hissed, "Stay close, alright? I'll come out when I can."

Dean winked at Tessa, making her once again fill to the brim with warmth. "Will do, Tess. See ya," and the two hid themselves in the trees.

"Tessa? Are you home yet?" Daniel called, and Tessa hurriedly closed the door. Her father came into the kitchen, a scowl etched on his lined face.

Tessa swallowed nervously. "Hey, Daddy. How was Uncle Karl's?" She tried weakly to make small talk, but her question fell flat in the tense air.

"It was fine. Now, sit down. We need to talk about what's been happening with this boy." Daniel pulled out a kitchen chair and sat down, folding his arms across his chest. He motioned for Tessa to take the seat across from him.

"I don't know what you're insinuating, Daddy, but there's been nothing-"

"I don't want to hear the details. I'm concerned, Tessie. I understand these past few days haven't been the easiest, and I miss Tyler too, but hanging around a no-good punk like that boy isn't doing you any good." Daniel cleared his throat uncomfortably as he avoided eye-contact with his daughter. Tessa was stunned at her father's blunt statement.

"This isn't me "lashing out" or whatever the hell you think is going on, Dad. I've just been, um, seeing this guy, that's all." For some reason, Tessa was eager to defend Dean against her father's insults. If he only knew what good that Winchester was doing for their family, then he would be begging Dean to stick around.

"Tessa!" She flinched as Daniel slammed a clenched fist down on the table. In her entire life, she'd never seen her father more violent than he was then. "You're too young to understand the consequences of your actions! That's not your fault, of course. If only your mother was still around-"

That was the breaking point for Tessa. "Don't you dare bring Mom into this! I-"

The air was cold.

Too cold.

A small part of Tessa hoped and prayed that the thermostat was broken, that there was some sort of mundane explanation for the odd temperature in the room. But then the lights began flickering, and Tessa's heart sank through her ribcage.

"Tessa? What-"

She then remembered her father's presence. "I need you to go outside, now. Daddy, please. If you only listen to me once in your life, make this that time. Go outside, now-"

The chandelier flew off of the ceiling and crashed onto the table. Tessa and Daniel lept up from the table, but shards of glass had already lodged themselves into both of their bodies.

Tessa had only one thought.

It wasn't over.
