Tessa managed to make it fifteen miles away from her house before she turned around.

No, she wasn't going back home. That place wasn't even home to her anymore; she didn't have one. She was going where her heart was begging her to, and that was wherever Sam and Dean Winchester were.

She knew it was foolish, and they were probably already long, long gone, but the chance was one that Tessa Lynn was willing to take. She suddenly stopped her car in the middle of the street, earning a lot of middle fingers and honks, and did a completely illegal U-turn, now speeding in the direction that Dean and Sam went.

Tessa knew that she was practically guaranteeing herself a ticket, and possibly an arrest for reckless driving, but she didn't care. The only thought on her mind in that moment was reaching Sam and Dean.

It had been roughly fifteen or so minutes since the boys had left her house, and it would take her another twenty to reach the last place she knew they would be, the run-down gas station right at the edge of town. With that thought in mind, she pushed her car, which was already groaning with her speed of nearly eight miles per hour, to eight five.

Tessa didn't know what had changed inside of her, but as she was driving down the freeway, the radio blasting Don't Stop Believin', something inside of her clicked. She remembered the stolen kisses with Dean, the hours spent pouring over dusty books with Sam, and her heart felt full. She barely knew the brothers, and there was still a chance that they could turn out to be crazy-ass serial killers, but the three were now connected by some unexplainable force. Tessa wondered if she was insane, but also if the boys felt the connection too.

She didn't have time to dwell on this, however, because it would be a miracle if she reached the gas station and Dean's Impala was still there. Tessa also had no absolutely idea what she would say when she got there, or where she would go from that point on.

"Piece of shit car," Tessa groaned, watching as the speedometer crept past eighty eight and up to ninety. All she could do was pray that she didn't run into any cops along the way, and that no one would turn her plates in.

Three miles to go. The closer and closer that Tessa got to the little gas station, the more foolish she felt. They probably wouldn't even be there. It doesn't take half an hour to fill up a gas tank. Tessa couldn't just call the brothers, either, after she turned down Dean's offer so many times. It would make her look like an even bigger ass than she already did.

Then, Tessa rounded the final curve, and the gas station came into view. She scanned the little parking lot, and her eyes lit up when she saw it. There, parked at the very edge of the lot, was a glossy '67 Chevrolet Impala. Dean's baby had never looked more beautiful to her than it did in that moment. She idly wondered if that was how Dean felt every time he looked at his beloved car.

"Thank God," Tessa murmured as she threw her car into park. The brothers must be inside the convenience store, probably stocking up on food for Dean.

Tessa jumped out of her car, giving an affectionate pat to its hood before running into the store. She didn't really know why she was in such a hurry, it might have been residual adrenaline after breaking what was close to 20 state laws.

Dean and Sam were at the checkout counter, and like she had suspected, were buying a ton of junky, gross snacks. They turned as the little bell over the door dinged, announcing Tessa's arrival. Sam merely raised an eyebrow as a small grin crept on his face, but Dean promptly dropped his wallet and a packaged pie onto the ground.

"Hey," Tessa whispered breathlessly. Now that she was here, and standing in front of the Winchesters, she had absolutely no idea what to say. She hadn't thought this far ahead in her brilliant plan of catching them.

"Hey there," Dean said back, not breaking eye contact as Sam picked up the dropped items and paid for their food. He murmured a thanks to the cashier, who was confusedly watching the exchange between Dean and Tessa.

"Let's go outside, okay?" Sam grabbed the bags off of the counter and shoved Dean a little to keep him walking.

The group kept a steady silence as they walked over to where the Impala and Tessa's car were parked. She cringed as she noticed the terrible parking job she had done; Dean would have killed her if she scratched his car, accident or not.

"Good job there, sweetheart," Dean broke the silence, grinning as he motioned to Tessa's car. She rolled her eyes at him as she leaned on the hood.

"So, you're probably wondering why I tracked you down and barged into there like a bat out of Hell," Tessa cleared her throat. "I was driving, and for some reason, it didn't feel right. Of course I want to leave still, but I didn't feel like I was going the right way... Or with the right people," she smiled shyly at Dean and Sam.

"Are you saying what I think you're saying?" The beginning of a smile was tugging at the corner of Dean's mouth. He didn't want to believe it; Tessa coming with them seemed too good to be true.

"You bet your ass, sweetheart," Tessa teased, using Dean's nickname for her against him. "I'm in."

"That's great, Tessa!" Sam grinned widely, glancing at Dean, who was staring at Tessa like a lovesick puppy... Again. He shook his head slightly. "But we have one problem... What're you going to do with your car?"

"Oh," Tessa's smile faded a little. "Um, I guess I'm leaving it here? I think I fucked it up on the way over here, it started to make some weird noises and I'm pretty sure it's smoking... Can I do that?"

"I guess," Dean shrugged, wrinkling his nose as the smell of Tessa's fuming car hit him. "Let's get your stuff."

The boys piled Tessa's bags into the trunk of the Impala, Sam slamming it shut once they had everything securely inside. Tessa was standing beside her old car, looking slightly nervous.

"What's up?" Sam threw his arm around Tessa's shoulders as he led her to the Impala.

"Nothing... I just can't believe that I'm actually doing this. I'm getting out. Holy shit," Tessa laughed breathlessly, trying to ignore the fluttering of her heart in her chest.

"You'll get used to the idea, trust me. Being homeless isn't too bad sometimes." Dean teased as he opened Tessa's door for her.

She climbed into the Impala, inhaling the scent of old leather as she did so. The last time she was in this car, she was filthy, and she and Dean had just burned Rose's body...

So much had changed in Tessa's life over the past week. It was too much to wrap her head around at times, but she was okay with that. Like Dean had told her, she should take life as a challenge, and accept the bad with the good. Tessa knew this new life that she was embarking on would not always be pretty, and probably sometimes downright Hellish, but that would all come and go, and good things would be woven in with the bad.

Dean turned up the radio, and a familiar AC/DC song came blasting through the speakers. She began humming along with Dean as he pulled out of the gas station parking lot, laughing as Sam pleaded for the two to shut up. She was already feeling lighter than she had ever felt in her life.

The first step is the hardest one to take, Tessa had always heard. But when you're out of that place, it's all over, and you can't look back.

And this time, she wasn't looking back.

A/N: And that's a wrap! I can't believe that we are actually finished with Untouchable. Writing this last bit has truly been an emotional experience.
As sad as I am for the first book in Tessa's story to be over, I am thrilled to begin telling you the story of Unfixable, the continuation of Tessa's life with the Winchesters. The first chapter should be up sometime within the next week or two.

I have big things planned for Tessa, Dean, and Sam, and although I will be following the show's storyline pretty religiously, I will have my own twists and turns thrown in there! Unfixable will be a lot more episode driven, unlike this one, where the plot was completely my own, and I hope you're all okay with that!

Before I wrap things up here, I want to thank every person who's ever taken the time to write a review or press the "follow" or "favorite" button for this story, or even read a chapter or two! And to those who have read this whole story, right down to this author's note... Thank you, so much. You are amazing. When I posted the first chapter of this story nearly a year ago, I never thought I would have much success, so to have nearly 7,000 reads is absolutely incredible. I am so, so grateful for all of your support, and I hope to see you all again when we pick up in Unfixable!
As always, all of my love.
