Chapter 6: True Colors
Tony's POV
It's been about 2 months since we had been sent to our "vacation" here in the safe house. Selena seems to be having some enjoyment out of this whole bad situation. She has been keeping busy with preparing meals for us, sketching designs in a sketch book and reading some books in the library here at the safe house. We also talked a lot and got to know each other better than I can ever get to know anyone else. I learned she is more of an amazing woman and I feel to be falling for her more and more each day. I mean, damn, she is just one amazingly beautiful woman. It's hard not to fall for a woman like her I mean she seems to always be there and helping me. I'm on the wrap around porch just looking out to the private lake here at the safe house. Selena was out near the lake on a bench reading. As I was looking out at her the sun was shining on her like an angel being sent from heaven. The sun would be blocked from time to time due to rain clouds rolling in. I looked back at her and smiled. She was just beyond beautiful and an amazing. There were times this week I just wanted to take her in my arms and kiss her deeply. I want to tell her how I feel, but I might feel rejected or just feel like someone who will just put her in danger. My heart calls out to her and I honestly just smile around her like a teenage boy who has a crush in high school. I let out a sigh and look back up at the sky. It was getting darker with the rainclouds coming in. I better go and get Selena before she gets rained on. I started walking towards her. It was a short walk from the house to the little bench she was sitting on. As I got closer I saw her features and beauty more. She was wearing a dark red V-neck t-shirt with a pair of black shorts and her converse high tops she found in the closet here. Her hair was down and flowed in the slight breeze. "Hey Sel." I said as I walked up to her as she looks up at me from her book. "Hey Tony. Everything ok?" She asked in a slight concerned voice. "Yes everything is fine. I just came over to let you know that it might start raining and I don't want you to get wet out here." She stands up and looks at me with her bright blue eyes. "Well that is very nice of you Mr. Stark." She lets out a small giggle as she closes her book and looks at the calm lake. "What book are you reading?" I asked as I was staring at the back of her head, but I still found it beautiful to see her looking at the lake with a heavenly gaze. She turns to me and smiles. "The Great Gatsby. It's my second time reading it, but nothing is better to read than a classic." "That's a very nice book. It was one of my favorites." I said as I look at her then at the lake. She moved closer to me as I felt her skin brush against my arm. I look over to her as she was also looking up at me with a slight blush on her cheeks. "Selena?" I called out her name in a soft tone. "Hmm?" She said as she then looked back out at the lake. "Do you feel safe with me?" She turned to look at me again with blush on her cheeks and a smile. "Of course I do! If I had to be in witness protection program I rather be with you than 20 S.H.E.L.I.D Agents. Tony I honest don't want anyone else to protect me unless it's you" As she said that she wrapped her arms around my torso and gave me a tight hug. "I feel safe when it you protecting me." I let out a small gasp, but then wrapped my arms around her and pulled her closer to me and I hug her tightly. This is just wonderful I thought in my head. Even though this situation is not wonderful, it still got me close to Selena and that made it all better. We held this hug for a few moments as Selena had her head on my chest looking out to the lake. I slowly move away from her, but still held her in my arms. She looked up at me and as she did I placed my hand on her soft cheek. I felt her flinch as I slowly caress her cheek. I stared down into her deep blue eyes are she stared up into my hazel eyes. She still had her arm around me. I don't know what I was doing, but I was in all awe just looking at her beauty. I honestly never felt this way about anyone before. She means everything to me, and I promise I will never let anything hurt her. "Selena…" I said her name softly and loving while I placed my other hand on her cheek. I was holding her face softly as I looked deeply to her. "Tony…" She said in response as she held on tighter to my body. As she said my name I got a shiver down my spine as she said my name so full of love and passion. I then started making my way down to her lips. I didn't know what I was doing, but I couldn't control my feelings for her anymore. I was centimeters away from her perfect lips. All of a sudden it's starts pouring rain. "Ah!" Selena says with a giggle as she looks at me with blushed cheeks. "I told you it was going to rain." I said as I let go of her and laugh. "Yeah now we are soaked! No thanks to you." I let out a chuckle as I then picked her up and put her over my shoulder and started to run around the pouring rain. I was laughing and so was she. "Tony!" She said with a giggle. "Don't worry I'll save you from the rain." After running in circles in the rain I made my way to the house still holding her over my shoulder. I ran up the steps then reached the front door. I placed her down slowly, but she still held on to me. She looked up at me with a bright white smile. I smiled back. "Was that fun?" I asked as I held on to her waist. "It was very fun, but now the book is soaked." She said as she stared into my eyes. There was a loud thunder crack, but it didn't faze either of us. "I'll just buy a new one. Sounds good?" She let out a cute giggle and smiled. "That sounds like a good deal." She looked me deeply in my eyes. She was still holding on tightly to me as I was holding on to her. Then I leaned down slowly while staring at her eyes and her lips. I was centimeters away from her lips as she held on tighter to me. I did the same. Suddenly my cold wet lips were against hers. I kissed her softly and sweetly. Her lips were soft and sweet. I ignored the fact that they were wet from the rain. After I kissed her sweetly I quickly removed my lips from her sweet lips. Damn it! What are you doing Tony? I felt like an idiot for just doing that. "Selena, I-I'm so sorry." I let her go and rushed quickly into the house. "Tony!" I hear Selena call out to me, but I didn't stop. I just ran up to the room I'm staying in. I walked in and slammed the door. "You dumbass!" I yelled as I face palmed my forehead. You're so stupid I kept thinking in my head. You're in love with Selena, but she doesn't want someone like me. Who was known for going on one night stands with women. I stood in the middle of the room looking out at the lake as the pouring rain still comes down. I didn't even look at her face after I kissed her sweet plump lips. They were just so wonderful and mind-blowing that I want her badly than ever. Selena Acevedo. She was someone I want. Someone I needed in my life. But, but she wouldn't want someone who seems unfaithful. I stood there thinking my thoughts as I slowly got out of my wet clothes. After drying off I put on a pair of black boxers with a pair of grey pajama pants. "I think it be best if I just stayed in my room for the rest of the night…"
Selena's POV
I'm in the kitchen cooking dinner, but honestly I felt that my mind was wondered off onto something else. Something like a kiss. I was just in awe and just couldn't get that kiss out of me head. Also on the reaction Tony had when he kissed me. That reaction kind of made me feel like I was a horrible person or a horrible kisser. I placed a plate on the marble kitchen counter as I wanted to make sure Tony ate something. He has been in his room all night and in which I needed to make sure he ate something. I placed sliced carrots with mashed potatoes and a sirloin steak on the plate. I placed the plate on a wooded tray and in which I also placed a glass wine cup with white wine. I looked at the tray and sighed. I felt like it was my fault that Tony reacted that way. He has just been ignoring me all day. After I came in the house I ran right up to his door and tried to talk to him but he just ignored be like I was just a piece of shit! Yes I'm upset about it because honestly what type of guy would just do that. Yet again he is Tony Stark, but I know that he is not like that. I fixed my shirt and grabbed the tray. I was changed after my clothes was soaking wet from the rain. I was now in a red and black plaid shirt with a black tank top underneath, and a pair of dark blue skinny jeans. I just had a pair of black socks on since I didn't plan on going anywhere since we can't leave. I started making my way of the kitchen slowly making sure I didn't drop anything while heading upstairs. As I walked ahead towards the stairs I remembered back to the moment he was carrying me and playing around with me outside in the rain. Honestly it felt amazing. I left happy and at peace as I was just there with Tony. The way he just makes this bad situation a good one is just amazing. Before I knew it I was up the stairs and in front of Tony's closed bedroom door. I sighed and softly kicked the door since my hands were full. "Tony?" I said in a soft voice. "I have some dinner for you. Please eat something. You haven't eaten since breakfast this morning." I waited a little bit for an answer but got none. I was starting to get really pissed off. I then balanced the tray on my side and with my right hand I turned the nob and opened the door slowly. I looked in and it was a low light coming in from the setting sun outside. I grabbed the tray and walked in. Tony's room was as big as mine and was painted a dark red color as the trimming was white and gold. He has a full walk in closet to the left of the door and a bathroom next to that. I look over to the bed that was on the right side of the room. His bed was about a king size maybe even bigger. The bed sheets are still perfect so they weren't used since this morning. I walked over to the bed and set the tray of food on his nightstand that was to the right of the bed. I looked over and notice the bathroom light was on and I could hear the sink running. As I was turning around to leave the bathroom door opened and Tony was coming out with drying his hands on white towel. I stopped in my tracks and so did he. I looked at him as he looked at me. My eyes open widely at his sight. He was shirtless and my oh my. Tony Stark had a great figure to him. His chest and arms are built with a great tone of muscle to him. His abs is noticeable and well built. He had the "V-shape" that went to his lower areas. He had on a pair of light gray pajama pants. His slightly tanned skin glowed in the low light of the sunset. "Selena!" Tony said in a soft surprised tone. I snapped out of my gaze as he said my name. "I-I'm sorry I just wanted to bring you your dinner I'll be leaving now." My cheeks were burning! I quickly made my way to the door. "No wait!" Tony said as he ran over and closed the door and stood in front of it. I gasped softly as I stared at his body as he stepped in front of the door. I then made eye connection with the ark reactor on his chest. It was in the shape of a circle with a triangle in the center of it and was glow bright blue. I than slowly moved my eyes up to Tony's hazel eyes. His eyes seemed to be filled with concern and sadness. "Selena I wanted to apologize for what I did earlier today. The kiss and the way I reacted. I'm so sorry. I was just caught in the moment. I mean…" Tony sighed and closed his eyes and banged the back of his head on the door. I looked at him with a confused gaze. "Tony?" I said softly. "What are you trying to say?" Tony sighed again and looked at me deeply in my eyes. "Selena I'm in love with you. I had been ever since I got to know you better and ever since you entered my life. I can't stop thinking about you or stop myself from pulling you into my arms and kissing you. That is why I reacted like that earlier today. Because I know you wouldn't feel the same way and wouldn't want to be with a man like me." I stared into Tony's eyes and felt my heart ache for him. To be honest I been feeling the same way. I had been feeling love and happiness whenever I'm around him. I placed my right hand on his cheek and softly caress it. He looked at me with his hazel eyes. I looked at him and softly caress his cheek and then my thumb softly rubbed against his bottom lip. I felt his lip quiver softly. "Tony…" He looks at me more deeply in the eyes. He then placed this hand on top of my hand that was on his cheek. Honestly I never felt this way before about any guy. Tony just brought the best side of me out and in which is something that is amazing to have is this feeling. I stood on my tip toes as I pushed myself up closer to Tony. I was moving towards Tony and I slowly made my way closer to his lips. Ding dong. The front door rang as we were centimeters away from each other. Tony opened his eyes and looked at mine. Ding Dong. "It's probably one the Agents for the checkup. I'll go open the door." I said was she took a step back from Tony. "Oh yeah sure. I'll just move out the way and put a um shirt on." Tony Said as he moved away from the door and opened it for me. I gave him a smile as I walked out of the door towards the stairs. I look back as I saw Tony smile at me then goes back into his room. My smile faded as I saw the concern that was in his eyes. I let out a sigh as I made my way down the white wooden semi-spiral stairs. I made my way towards to front door. As I was feet away from it… BOOM! An explosion sent me flying backwards into the grand foyer. I was in stun as I lay on my back in pain. I slowly got up from my back with a groan and looked at the front door. It was blown open by what seems to be a bomb. "Selena!" I heard Tony yell my name from upstairs. I couldn't reply. I was like paralyzed. I was in a daze as I try to move my body. I got up onto my feet as men started making their way into the house. I quickly ran as fast as I could to the living room as I hid behind the wall. I was hyperventilating as I covered my mouth with my hands. I looked around and I say the Mark 5 suit nearby. My eyes widen as I pressed the button on the bracelets I still had on. "Jarvis deploy quietly." I said inside the speaker.
Tony's POV
I was upstairs looking down into the grand foyer as the men started marching in. "Shit!" I said in a soft voice as moved into the room next to mine. Those men aren't S.H.E.L.I.D agents for sure. I made my way towards the stairway in soft movements. "Tony Stark! I know you are in here!" That voice sounds so familiar as I stopped in my tracks. "Come on Tony you don't want to treat an old friend like this!" My eyes open in shock as I figured out whom that voice belonged too. Aldrich Killian. "Tony come out for we can talk about some things. I promise that we won't hurt you or your friend." I let out a sigh as I fixed my black V-neck shirt I had on. "What do you want Killian?" I said in from upstairs against the wall. "I just want to talk. I mean you can't treat a villain like this." I gasp as I figured out that Killian is The Mandarin. "Come on Tony. Help a friend out. You are the key to my project in which will be great for both of us. Mostly me." He laughed with his SWAT members he had there. I opened my mouth as I was about say something when all of a sudden I hear gunshots and groaning. I ran over to the edge as say the Mark 5 suit taking the guards around it out. Killian was backing up as he seemed to get heated. Literally. He seemed to be smoking. He was wearing a grey suit with an open dress up underneath to show off his chest. His blonde hair was slicked back. "You fools he is just a suit commanded by Tony! Take him down!" Killian said as his skin seemed to glow from the inside. "Killian you might want to second think that!" I said from the second level. He looked up at me with an evil glare. "I'm not controlling it at all." I showed my hands as I moved them in a quick motion. "Yet again it's always best to look around the house before you try to talk." I said with a smirk as the Mark 42 comes towards my body form the living room. The pieces of the suit finished attaching itself to my body as I placed the face mask down then jumped down to the first floor. Killian's men came and started to attack me. I punched each of them in the face as they seemed to drop like flies. "Tony stop!" Killian said. "I'm here to offer you a job in order to help me." I placed my hands up towards his face in which I was getting ready to shoot him. "Anything you have to offer me, I will not accept." He smiled as he snapped his fingers in which footsteps started making their way towards us. Selena seemed to aim towards the door after she took out the last SWAT member. My eyes widened in shock. "Ana?" I said as she walked toward Killian. She was wearing a pair of black high heeled boots with leather black leggings and a black collared shirt. He brown hair was straighten and in a high ponytail. She smiled and came close to Killian and grabbed him around his torso. "Tony I believe you have met Ana before. In which she had I privilege of hacking the accounts of S.H.E.L.I.D and your home database to find out the witness protect houses that are under your name. It would have taken us longer, but some house had more S.H.E.L.I.D agents then others. Ana looked at him with a bright white smile. "But we took care of them in which was very fun." She said in an evil tone. Killian laughed and gave her a small kiss on her lips. "Tony are you ready to help me with my Project Extremis? I know that we stopped by your office asking in which you will help us, but you turned us down because it sounds too much like a weapon of evil. Which is funny in which all weapons are evil." I looked over at Selena who was standing perfectly still looking at me. "You heard my answer already and it's a no! I will not bother helping you with your idea of world domination." I said as I grabbed a smoke bomb from my left leg pocket in which I smashed the bomb on the ground in front on me and Selena. "Selena fly get out of here! Jarvis take her to site 53215!" I yelled into the walky talky in the helmet. I looked at Selena's suit made its way out of the house and the area. "Tony get out of there!" Selena yelled into the walky talky inside of the helmet. As I was about to take off Killian got a hold of my leg. "HA going somewhere?" He said as his hand started to glow and heat shot from his hand in which seemed to almost melt the suit. "Fuck!" I said as the alarm inside of the suit started going off. I managed to turn around and kicking him in the face to get him off of me. He yelled in pain as I managed to fly out of there to catch up with Selena. "So much for that house."
Ana's POV
I was coughing as the smoke started to disappear and the room became visible. I looked around and saw Tony and Selena where nowhere to be seen. I look to the ground a saw Killian squatting. "Killian?" I said softly as I placed my hand on his shoulder. He looked up at me as he stood up slowly. "We aren't giving up on this! We are going to have this work and have Tony pay for what he has done." I smiled up at him and then kissed his lips softly yet deeply. As we parted I smiled at him. "We will achieve greatness after the work you and Tony will do my love." I smiled as I patted his cheek softly. "You always know how to make me smile my dear Ana." Killian said with a smile as we started making our way back to the cars. "What about the men?" I looked around the groaning men laid on the floor. "They will be our message to the world that we play no games. In which we mean business."
