CH.24 A Dream Come True
Sure enough, Stephanie emailed her back the next day, telling her she loved her idea and narrowed five ideas down to one picked one. The head of the Creative Team also booked a photo shoot for the following Thursday morning and seven a.m., telling her to inform the pair who would be taking the photos and that she would be in charge of the whole event. Yelena was beyond excited and was walking on clouds as she searched the arena for AJ. She found her in catering eating a bowl of oatmeal and running over her script for the show tonight. She slid into the chair in front of the small Diva, grinning. AJ raised an eyebrow at her
"What are you so happy about?" she asked
"I finally got the okay for the No Way Out poster and Stephanie booked a photo shoot."
"That's great! So who's going to be on it?"
"Oh... just this girl I know." Yelena sing songed, her grin getting bigger.
"Someone I know?" AJ asked
"You might... she has become very popular over the past few months. She's been referred as being a little...crazy at times." Yelena laughed. AJ's eye went wide as a grin of her own bloomed across her face
"No way!" she shrieked, almost knocking over her bowl of oatmeal as she bounced up and down in her seat
"No way indeed. How would you like to be on the poster for No Way Out this year?"
"Yes! Yes! Yes! A thousand times YES!" the Diva cried, mocking her own screen ex-boyfriend. She pulled Yelena into a hug across the table and Yelena smiled, hugging her back.
When AJ pulled away, her eyes glistened with tears "You don't know how much this means to me. Thank you so much Lena." the small Diva said tearfully
Yelena was touched at the sight of her friend's happiness. She indeed did know how much this meant to her and she was glad she was the one giving her the good news. AJ worked her butt off all year to get to where she was now and had single-handedly broken through a new barrier in this era of the business. If anyone deserved this, it was her
"You're welcome. I have to go and find Daniel. He's going to be doing the photoshoot too."
"Oh this should be good." AJ said, wiping her eyes with a small laugh.
"I'll see you bright and early at seven a.m. on Thursday."
"I'll be there. I'm going to go call my mom. I'll see you later." AJ squealed
Yelena watched as the Geek Goddess skipped off, an extra pep in her step as she went. She watched as she waved at Phil as she passed him and her waved back. When he spotted Yelena he made his way over.
"What's shakin' bacon?" he said as a greeting "What's got her so excited?" he asked, jerking his thumb in the direction AJ had went.
"She's going to be on the poster for No Way Out." Yelena told him
"That's great! She's worked so hard." he said with a grin, his lip ring glinting in the lights "Although, I'm a bit sad. Did no one listen to my promo last year? I want to be on cups and posters too." he said, poking out his bottom lip
Yelena let out a laugh. She remembered June 27th, 2011 like it was yesterday. CM Punk had single handedly set a fire under the WWE Universe with one promo and has been burning down the business ever since. The fans couldn't get enough of the proclaimed "Best In The World". He chuckled along with her too
"Give me some time. I promise if I ever get picked again to do this, you'll be the first person I think about." she promised
"I better be." he snorted "So... talk to Randy lately?"
Yelena shot him a sheepish grin "Yeah." she said, biting her lower lip. She turned on her heel and gestured for him to follow
"You two are getting pretty close." he said, falling into step beside her
"I guess." she said, hiding her blush
"You liiiiike hiiiiiiim" Punk accused with a goofy smile
"Shut up" she hissed, blushing madly
"Awww that's so sweet. You guys would be so cute together" he said in a girly voice
"Stop it." she whined with a laugh "We're just friends. No one said anything about a relationship."
"Oh it's getting there, from what he's told me. I see the way you act around each other. You're like a bunch of teenagers."
"You talk to him about me?" Yelena asked
"Maybe" he snorted, withholding information "Trust me. He likes you. A lot. And I'd rather see you with Randy than..." he cut his sentence short
Yelena ducked her head shyly. His name didn't need to be said out loud for her to know who Punk was referring to.
"Sorry." he said, scratching the back of his neck. God, he'd done it again. Way to go Brooks
"Don't apologize. You're only saying what you feel" she said, not meeting his gaze. She knew that he was just speaking his mind. It was his nature to do so, but it still stung a little
Punk wanted to kick himself for once again bringing up her personal problems. They arrived outside of the locker room and she plastered on a soft smile
"Would you mind finding Bryan and asking him if I can have a word?" she asked
"Sure." Punk said, ruffling her hair, hoping that he hadn't upset her too much "We should celebrate. April being on the cover and all." he offered, trying to smooth things over a little
"Absolutely." she said with a smile. Punk smiled back, his lip ring sparkling in the fluorescent lights "I'll go get Bryan now. See you later."
"Later." she agreed
Punk went into the locker room and shut the door softly behind him and Yelena let out a breath that she hadn't realized she was holding. Placing her back against the wall, she ran a hand through her brown locks. She hadn't thought about Chris in weeks. She had been so exhausted from work and helping out with the photos for the website on top of working ringside and still having to take pictures for Instagram that she hadn't realized that Chris would be back in a matter of three weeks and the thought made her nervous. She didn't have time to dwell on the thought because the Locker Room door swung open and the bearded man stepped out and she tried to put on her best smile. She had never worked with the World's Toughest Vegan and she was looking forward to doing so
"Hi. Bryan Danielson." he said offering her his hand
Yelena shook it "Yelena Ulyanova. I work in the photography department and I wanted to talk to you about an offer."
"Go on." he said
"As you know. Yours', April, and Phil's story line have been the most successful story line of the summer and I'm in charge of the poster for the up and coming pay-per-view and I want you and April to be on the cover."
"I've seen your work and I would be honored to be on the cover." the bearded man said
"Excellent. So the shoot is Thursday morning at seven. Why don't you give me your number and I'll send you the information"
They swapped numbers and she went about her business. After the show, she spent the whole night making sure every detail for the photo shoot would be perfect before she even attempted to get some shut eye around four a.m.
So I've been working on something new. Since I don't want to make this story too long, I've been working on a little something on the side while writing this. I decided I'd switch it up a bit and work with someone new. I've noticed that there aren't any really good Uso fanfiction stories and I don't know why! They're pretty damn sexy to me along with their gorgeous cousin, Roman so I've decided to do a story on Jey Uso. What do you think? Would you be interested after "Teach Me How To Love" is wrapped up?
