-Sif blinked and realized what she had done. "I'm so sorry- I shouldn't have kissed you- It-" Sif stuttered. "I'm not magical at all. I don't understand why that happened. I don't normally-" Loki cut Sif off this time with a kiss. He pulled back but only just slightly. "Why-?" She asked breathlessly.
"It just felt right. You know? I don't understand why it does but kissing you just felt right." He replied. "Perhaps, I shouldn't have kissed you back but you kissed me first. I only reacted to your actions." He pulled away more.
"You were complimenting my character. I didn't think about what I was doing, I just did what I wanted." Sif said defending herself.
"So what do you want now?" He stared at her.
Sif broke eye contact with him. "I want-"
"I want-" Sif sighed, picking at the grass beneath her. "I want everything to go back to the way it was before Jotunheim." She answered, standing up and pratically running away from him.
Loki stared after her, confused by her actions. Why did she run away? He asked himself, the cold in his veins coming back once again. He looked down at his hands. They were blue once more and Loki stared at them. Why was he changing? Was it because of Sif? He gazed over to where she had been sitting and gently touched the ground, wondering to himself if he would change again. When no transformation took place, Loki exhaled the breath he had been holding in. He heard footsteps approaching him and he turned his head to see if it was Sif returning.
It was not Sif but Queen Frigga. She kept a bit of a distance between herself and Loki. "A few of the guards had seen you wandering around but not as you appear now."
"You mean to say that they saw me for the brief moment when I looked Asgardian," Loki corrected her as irritation filled his words. "You came to see if I was back to normal."
"I came to see my son-" Frigga began but Loki quickly interrupted her.
"I am no son of yours!" He snapped at her while the coldness that filled his veins started to change the atmosphere around him. Frigga took a step back from him, hurt by his statement. "Why can't you get that through your head?" Frigga took a moment to compose herself before conjuring a small orb and handing it to Loki. He looked at her skeptically until the orb lit up and he turned his gaze back to it.
An image began to appear within the orb. Upon closer inspection, it was a much younger Frigga and a younger Allfather inside the orb. The Allfather was holding a bundle- a sleeping baby with dark hair was inside, "I found him abandoned on Jotunheim. They were going to let him die because of how small he is."
"He is a Frost Giant? Why does he look like us?" Frigga inquired, gently touching the baby's cheek. Odin was right. He was small for a Frost Giant.
"He changed when I picked him." Odin explained to her. "I think he sensed I was not going to harm him. Here, hold him." Frigga took the baby when Odin handed him over, carefully supporting his head.
"What are your plans for him? He has no family here." Frigga rocked him back and forth gently.
"I would have him raised by the court. Eventually, he is to become a symbol of peace- of unification between Asgard and Jotunheim. He will be the end of all disagreement." Odin told her as he sat down in a chair.
"Those fools would fill his head with biased opinions from the war. No, I won't allow it." Frigga argued with him as the baby opened his eyes, yawning. Odin opened his mouth to protest but Frigga cut him short, "I will raise him as my son."
"Your son?" Odin asked her.
"Yes, I will claim him as my own son." Frigga answered, smiling at the child she wanted to claim. " I will teach him to be smart enough to learn what it takes to be an ambassador between our people and theirs. He will create a new chapter for Asgard and I'm sure Thor would love to have someone to play with."
"Then, we will claim him together but we will wait to tell him about the truth until the time comes for us to tell him." Odin countered.
"Fine. He still needs a name. I think we'll call you Loki."
Loki felt his mouth go dry as he watched the events taking place inside of the orb. The blue light inside of the orb faded away as the scene ended. "All of my memories of you are in there if you wish to see them- the good days and the bad days."
"Did I own any of these orbs?" Loki inquired, as he turned the orb over in his hands.
"If you did, you hid them away in places only you would know." Frigga told him, stepping toward him once again. Loki turned his head toward her as she set a hand upon his shoulder. "I miss my son but things have changed now and if I am his mother, he will seek me out like he always does when he needs me." She squeezed his shoulder before turning away from Loki and heading back in the direction she had come from.
