Here you are! A Big thank you once again to Blackhawkschiq9 for helping me out! This chapter is very sectioned off because it switches from Randy and Yelena's P.O.V a lot, I hope it doesn't bother you.
*I wanted to let you all know that as of June 12th, I will be going on vacation to California and Hawaii (My first real vacation!) and I won't be returning until July 27th. A long time, I know, but I'm still going to try my best to keep some updates coming, I promise!*
So, Get comfortable. This is a long one and I hope you enjoy it as much as I enjoyed writing it!
Randy woke up with a splitting headache. He wasn't sure what time he had crawled into bed next to Yelena. He had gotten so smashed, he wasn't even sure how the hell he made it back to her place. He glanced at the clock and saw that it was nine a.m. How the hell was he even up this early? A horrible noise sounded from somewhere in the large condo, making him wince. Ah. That's why he was up. He stumbled out of bed and went into the bathroom to take a leak and brush his teeth before venturing out of the bedroom. The horrendous noise got louder the closer he got to the kitchen. Yelena stood in front of a electric mixer, her hair in a messy ponytail, looking as gorgeous as ever. How this woman managed to look so damn good in the morning was a secret only she knew.
"Morning." he said, placing his hands on either side if the counter behind her and kissed the side of her neck.
She didn't respond as she dumped a bowl of strawberries out onto the large wooden cutting board. She pulled a large knife from the block and Randy couldn't help but swallow nervously as she diced the fruit with expert precision
"Yelena." he tried gently
"Yes?" she said emotionlessly
"Are you upset with me?" he asked, taking her by the hips and turning her around so she was facing him
"Why on Earth would I be mad at you Randy?" she asked, playing with the tip of the large knife she was holding with ease, not meeting his eye
"Put the knife down and we can talk about this." he half joked. She was truly making him nervous with that thing
"Don't you know better than to joke with a woman with a knife in her hands?" she shot at him, her voice laced with annoyance, despite the smirk playing on her lips
"Are we fighting?" he asked cutely
"Randy" she warned
He held his hands up in mock surrender
"You told me you weren't going to be out late. You promised you'd help me and I was looking forward to this being as painless as possible. You know that I'm very stressed out about today and you staying out all night with Mike didn't help the matter."
"I tried to tell Mike I couldn't be out too late, he wasn't having it." Randy tried lamely
"Oh, trust me, Mike is getting a tongue lashing when I see him." she promised "Now if you'll excuse me, I have to finish this up." she said, turning back to her task
"Babe." he said, wrapping his arms around her waist "I can still help." he said in her way sweetly "Just tell me what to do and I'll do it."
"You want to know what you can do?" she asked
He set his chin on her shoulder nodding
"You can get out of my kitchen." she told him
Randy groaned "Yelena." he whined, turning his blue eyes heavenward
"I'm serious. Out. Go watch ESPN or something." she said over her shoulder
He stopped just where the tiled floor met the carpet "You're really going to kick me out?" he asked smartly
She turned, to him "Do I look like I'm joking with you Randall?"
He stepped towards her, a snide remark on his tongue but stopped short when she held the knife up defensively
"Try me." she said, mischief glittering in her green eyes
"I'll... be in the living room if you need me." he told her begrudgingly
"Good choice." she said, turning her back to him once again
That was how things were for the next few hours. She worked in the kitchen while he sulked in front of the television contemplating how to get out of the dog house
Phil emerged from the guest room, the smell of sweets enticing him out of bed and plopped down next to the Viper "What time did you get in?"
"To damn late. She's upset with me now and I'm banned from the kitchen."
"Are you serious?" the Chicago native snorted
"She threatened me with a very large knife Phil. My manhood feels endangered."
"I'm glad I dodge that bullet last night." Punk teased, getting up and heading into the kitchen. You would have thought the angels in heaven were cooking, the way in there smelled
"Morning." he said
"Morning Punk. How'd you sleep?" she asked cheerfully, dusting baking sheet with flour
"Surprisingly well actually. So... Randy's in time out?" he asked with a amused grin
She rolled her green eyes "Yup. Serves him right. He has no one to blame but himself. And Mike." she said, glancing at the Viper. He hadn't stopped pouting like a baby since she kicked him out
"Don't talk about me with him!" Randy called from on the sofa
"Shut it Orton!" she called
Phil laughed as he peeled a banana. Yelena tossed him an apple "Give that to him. If he comes into my kitchen, I might have to skin him." she said nastily
Phil was a bit taken aback and exited the kitchen with haste to give Randy the apple and returned with caution, leaning against the counter. He didn't want her pointed any knives his way "Need any help?" he asked hesitantly
She turned to him with a weary smile. She was really tired and ready for the day to be over with already and it hadn't even begun yet "There's a bowl in the fridge with dough in it. Can you roll them into small balls for me?"
"Sure thing." Punk said
When they were finally done, they started getting dressed. Yelena was showered and standing in front of her full length mirror in nothing but her bra and panties. She had just pulled the last hair roller out of her hair when Randy came in.
He let out a tortured groan at the sight of her and went to stand behind her, his tattooed arms snaking around her curvy waist. He brushed his lips across her bare shoulder "Are we still fighting?" he asked
"That depends. Are you sorry?" she asked in return
"Very. Can we kiss and make up now?" he pleaded, turning her in his arms
"Its the least you could do." she said cheekily. She let him kiss her tenderly and melted against him
"Our first fight." he said against her lips
"Thank god its behind us." she said as he attacked her neck. She squealed when he grabbed her behind the knees and picked her up, carrying her over to her bed
"Randy" she breathed "Phil is here." she reminded him
"Why is he here again?" Randy asked, claiming her lips.
She had to force herself to push him away. "I have to finish getting dressed."
Randy rolled off of her and let her up even though he really didn't want to "Don't let me stop you."
She pulled on a pair of dark Hollister jeans and a dark red tank top with a V-Neck cardigan with a fairisle print. She went into her closet and pulled out her UGG AUSTRALIA Chestnut Jardin soft leather mid calf boots to complete her look then started on her makeup. She went with soft brown eyeshadow and a little bit of mascara just to keep her mother at bay. It was after she finished that she took a good look at Randy, in a pair of loose khaki slacks and a simple tucked in white button down shirt. He had it rolled up at the elbow, making his tattoos look vivid against the light color.
"Did I tell you how handsome you look?" she asked
"It may have slipped your mind." he said, that infamous smirk returning
She returned his smirk as she stood in between his legs and straightened his collar "Are you nervous?"
"A little bit. But I'm sure they'll love me. I am Randy Orton after all." he grinned
Yelena rolled her eyes at his cockiness. They went to the kitchen where Phil was shoving a Baba, a Italian pastry, into his mouth
"Phil!" she barked at him
He froze on the spot, holding his hands up, his mouth full. Yelena went over and started packing the desserts up
"Phil! You already had like four, don't be fat." she laughed
"I can't help it! Its sooo good." he said, chewing the rest of the contents in his mouth "Did you have one of these yet?" he asked Randy
"I've been banned from the kitchen, I'm not going to press my luck." Randy said, smiling innocently
Yelena narrowed her eyes at Punk "You can have one, but no more." she said, feeding him one out of the container
Randy's eyes went wide "Oh my god." he muttered, reaching towards the container for another one
"Right!" Phil agreed
Yelena smacked his hand away "No more until we get to my parents house." she told Randy. She saw Phil's hand creeping in her peripheral "Phil, touch it and you'll be thankful for one hand today." she threatened.
Yelena put the Strawberry Hazelnut Pavlova in the container gently. She'd worked really hard in that dish in particular because it was her father's favorite. She arranged everything perfectly before snapping the lids on. If anything happened to them, she'd simple blow a gasket. They were on their way out the door and Yelena stopped in front of the small mirror by the door to give herself a once over. Should she have put on a little more makeup? She fluffed her brown waves a little and applied some lip gloss. She was putting on more mascara when Randy's face appeared next to hers
"You look perfect, you know."
Yelena let out a huff. Her palms were sweating and she wiped them nervously on her jeans, her stomach in knots "There is always room for improvement according to my mother."
"Everything will be fine. I'll meet your family and they'll love me and we'll have fun." he promised
She wanted to believe him, but something in her gut was telling her that this was going to end in disaster. If she made it through the day without puking, she would be surprised
"Okay." she said finally
He smiled and pulled her out the door where Phil was waiting. She locked up and they were on their way. She drove to her parents house without really seeing and were pulling into the driveway before she knew it. She parked next to Irina's BMW and they got out.
Punk let out a low whistle "Nice digs."
Randy helped her get everything out of the car and they went up the driveway. Yelena took a deep breathe before pushing open the front door
"Mom?" she called
Irina's little rat of a dog yapped loudly, running into the foyer and danced around her feet
"Yelena! Hi honey, I was wondering when you'd show up." Emilia said, hugging her daughter tightly
Punk's eyes went wide "That's her mother?" he whispered to Randy, incredulously
"There's some damn good genes in this family." Randy muttered back
"Mom, this is Phil Brooks. He works for the company. He couldn't make it home, so I invited him, I hope you don't mind." Yelena said, turning towards her company
"Of course not, the more the merrier. Happy Thanksgiving!" Emilia said cheerfully, hugging Phil and kissing his cheek
Phil froze at the embrace, but relaxed into it "Happy Thanksgiving Mrs. Ulyanova." he said politely
"Please, call me Emilia." she insisted with a wink. She turned to Randy "And you must be Randy!" she said excitedly, opening her arms to him
Yelena smiled at how Randy had to lean down to hug her mother
"I've heard a lot about you. I'm so glad you could join us." she said, kissing his cheek "Come in, make yourself at home!"
Yelena led them into the large living room where her father was on the couch, watching the football game with who she assumed was Frederick. He was medium built with dark hair and brown eyes. A pretty good looking guy. Tall, dark, and handsome had always been Val's type
"Daddy!" Yelena cried happily, rushing over to her father
His face lit up and he smiled broadly when he saw her "Yelena, dorogaya. How are you?" he said, hugging her
"I'm fine." she said, pulling back to look at him "You're getting gray on me." she teased, touching his stubble on his cheeks
"You can thank your mother for that." he retorted
"I heard that!" Emilia yelled from the kitchen
"It was meant to be heard!" her father called
"You must be Frederick." she said to her future brother in law
Frederick stood and offered her a shy smile "Nice to finally meet you."
"You too." she said, giving him a friendly hug
Yelena went over and took Randy's hand and motioned Phil to cone along "Daddy, I'd like you to meet Phil Brook and Randy Orton."
"Nice to meet you sir." Punk said, shaking her father's hand
Randy and Frederick exchanged pleasantries
"Nikolai, you can call me Nik." he said in his thick Russian accent before his green eyes landed on Randy "You must be the keeper my daughter told me about." hr said, still shaking Randy's hand
"Papa." Yelena said, a blush creeping across her face
"I'm sure she has it all wrong, sir. It's your daughter who is the keeper."
"Smart man." Nik said in approval before turning to his youngest daughter "Your sisters are in the kitchen."
"Excuse me guys." she said
"Here, let me help you with this stuff." Randy offered
Phil and her father had already made themself comfortable in front of the TV, so they went into the kitchen
"Yelena!" Valilisa said, dropping her oven mitts and hugged her sister
"Hey Val."
Randy set the containers on counter
"Val, this is Randy. Randy, this is my sister Valilisa." she introduced
Randy gave her a dazzling smile "So nice to finally put a face to the name."
Valilisa looked a lot like Yelena. He had seen a few photos of her in Yelena's place. The only difference was that her eyes were hazel green and her hair was a darker shade of brown. She was petite and she had a sweet face and that same shy smile. Yelena had mentioned that she was the more mellow sister and Randy could tell they would get along just fine
"And you remember Irina." Yelena said, not so enthusiastically
Irina was stood from her seat at the table, where she was peeling potatoes, a glass of wine in front of her.
"Wow little sister, you look... rounder than the last time I saw you." The Victoria Secret model said, air kissing her sister "Randy, So good to see you again." she told him, batting her long lashes as she hugged him
Yelena fought the urge to push her off of him when her hug lingered a little too long for her liking "Stuck on Mashed Potato duty again this year, huh Rina?" she said smartly
"I wasn't made to be in the kitchen like you and Val." Irina said, rolling her green eyes "Shoo, Randy so we can talk about you." she said, sending a sultry wink his way
Randy placed a quick kiss on Yelena's cheek before going back to the living room
A few hours later, Randy was laughing it up and have a great time. Yelena's father wasn't half as intimidating as he thought and Valilisa's fiance Frederick was a riot. Irina had came in, a full glass of wine in hand. She said hello to Punk and took a seat next to him like it was left empty just for her to be and lightly touched the sculls tattooed on his exposed forearms
"Did those hurt?" she asked, crossing her legs. The little skirt she wore left nothing to the imagination, the only thing saving her being the sheer pantyhose
"Nah, not that much."
"It must have felt like forever before you were done. How long did it take?" She asked, leaning in closer, tracing a skull with her manicured finger
"About a day and a half." he said, trying to turn his attention back to the game, but Irina was a persistent little thing
"I've always wanted a tattoo, but being a model doesn't make it easy. Plus I'm a big baby when it comes to needle, but you make them looks so good, I might reconsider." she said, her green eyes dragging over him
"Thank you." he said politely
She went on and on. If she wasn't talking about traveling and meeting celebrities, she was reminding him that she was a Victoria Secret model and how important she was. He glanced up and Phil held his fingers like a gun to his head and pulled the trigger and he tried his best not to laugh
Val came in and seated herself on Frederick's lap, Yelena poking her head through the door. He had never been happier to see her.
Her eyes found his before they landed on her older sister, sitting a little too close for comfort. The annoyance was palpable on her face "Hey guys. Need anything?" she asked
Randy could tell by the tense set of her shoulders that something was off with her
"We're fine honey." her father said
"Yeah, if you're not salivating at the smell coming from in there. How much longer?" Phil asked
Always the charmer
"Not much, we're waiting on the turkey." she promised, her smile not quite meeting her eyes. She glanced at him. He smiled easily at her, but she didn't bother to return it and turned to go back into the kitchen. Randy got up and followed
"Hey." he said softly, grabbing her by the wrist softly in the hall just outside the kitchen "You alright?"
She folded her arms around herself "Yeah I'm okay, I just... Irina is being Irina and my mother is pestering me about everything I'm not doing correctly. I just realized that I haven't eaten anything since yesterday, I'm just a little cranky I guess and-"
He pulled her arms away, taking her hands in his "It's going to be okay. You have to try and relax. This is suppose to be a happy occasion, remember?" he asked
She glanced down at her shoes and he tilted her face upward so she was looking at him. Her usually bright green eyes looked dull and lifeless, like a storm was brewing in them
"Breathe." he told her
She took a deep breathe and exhaled slowly and he folded her into his arms, resting his chin on top of her head
"Better?" he asked after a few seconds
"Much. Thank you."
He was glad to see the small smile on her face when he pulled back
"Anything for you." he said, touching his forehead to hers "You know, I think your dad approves of me, what do you think?" he asked
She grinned "Did he point out the shotgun on the mantle of the fireplace?"
There was a shotgun on the mantle? How the hell had he missed that? "No, why?"
She kissed him lightly "Nevermind it. I think he likes you well enough."
Val poked her head outside the door, smiling innocently at the couple in an intimate embrace "Mom needs you."
Randy kissed her again and let her go.
She disappeared through the swinging door and he returned to the living room, glad to see that Irina was long gone.
After a while Emilia showed up with a family album and a box of pictures
"Oh, and this one was taken at a family picnic." Emilia said, showing the picture to he and Phil
Randy smiled. The family was seated on a large blanket. Her mother was seated in between her husbands legs, feeding him an apple wedge. A young looking Irina was laying on her stomach, supporting her weight on her elbows, her chin resting on her hands, that ever present flirty smile on her face. Valilisa was sitting on her heels, her hair in pigtails, smiling sweetly. And finally sitting next to her was Yelena, smiling shyly. Her face was a bit fuller. He noted that she often wore baggy clothes. As her mother flipped through more photos, he could tell that she was losing the childish roundness. She showed them everything from dances and award ceremonies. Why wasn't he surprised that Yelena was a straight A student?
They came across a picture Yelena and Val. Yelena's brown locks were dyed onyx and streaked purple. Emilia had told him that it was taken during her rebellious stage
Randy was shocked at how drastically different she looked. She wore dark eyeliner that made her green eyes stand out, but he saw the dark shadows under them, but that wasn't what caught his attention. She was noticeably thin, almost Irina's size, which was bizarre. It didn't fit her, maybe because he appreciated her fine curves so much. She wasn't smiling like her sister. The more they flipped through, the smaller she looked and he could practically see the light dying in her eyes. What had happened? Was she sick? Did she have a condition of some sort? He didn't recall her mentioning any illnesses
"Oh god, she's showing them that damn box of pictures!" Valilisa groaned in horror as they came into the room
"Oh lord" Yelena thought to herself "Mom, put that thing away, you're embarrassing us!" she groaned too
"No please, keep them coming!" Phil objected "I am so going to blackmail you." He laughed, picking up a picture he had set to the side "Nice hair." he said, flashing the picture at her
It was one from the rebellious years. It must have been Halloween or something because she wore a Joker costume and her hair was an interesting shade of green. She wished the floor would open beneath her feet and swallow her.
Phil was one to talk! She had seen pictures of him throughout his wrestling career! Yelena tried to snatch it away, but Punk snatched it back before she could grab it, her cheeks red with embarrassment
"Mom please put all of that back in the hole you dug it out of. Dad, how could you let her do this?" Val whined, snatching an Elementary School picture away from her fiance, who only grinned
Yelena scooped up all the photos, dumping them back into the box "The table is set." she said irritably. She was annoyed and all she wanted to do was eat
"Oh, good. Lets go be seated everyone!" Emilia said, clapping her hands together
They all filed into the dining room and took their seats. Their father sat on the one side of the table, of course, with their mother flanking him to his left. Valilisa sat the right with Frederick beside her. Irina sat next to their mother followed by Punk. Yelena took her seat next to Frederick with Randy to her right.
"Join hands everyone." Nik told them
They did so. Yelena smiled as Randy gave her hand a squeeze as they bowed their heads
"I'd like to thank god for all of my family for making it home safely on this day. Thank you for our guests for sharing this day with us for which I am thankful." Nik said
Yelena peeked an eye open, not surprised that Phil was doing the same. She knew that he was an atheist, but glad to see he was going along with it. She crossed her eyes at him and he winked at her before they both screwed their eyes shut again
"I am also thankful for this meal and pray that it doesn't run off the table from us before I am finished being thankful for it." her father joked
Everyone let out a light laugh
"I ask that you bless this food and may we all be in good health. In your name, we pray. Amen"
"Amen." they all said in unison
"Dig in!" Nik told them cheerfully as they took their seat.
They began passing dishes around, a mixture of a little bit of everything, the only sound being heard were the clattering of utensils hitting plates. Yelena's stomach growled in anticipation as she spooned a large helping of mashed potatoes and gravy onto her plate, followed by green beans and turkey. Everyone dug in and conversation flowed easily. Yelena was happy to see that Randy and Phil was fairing just fine. As she ate, she felt her appetite die out halfway through her plate.
"What's wrong hun, you feeling okay?" her mother asked, noticing her daughter looking uneasy
"I'm fine mom. Just ate a little too fast is all." Yelena assured
"Slow down Lena, the food isn't going anywhere." Irina snorted
She narrowed her eyes at her older sister. Irina was truly trying her patience today. She done nothing but make digs at her all day so far about her looking "Healthy", or "More solid". She had been calling her fat without actually saying it and her mother was turning a blind eye
"Don't be so sensitive Yelena. Your sister is only joking." she had told her
She didn't bother to reply for fear of cursing her out like a sailor. Randy's hand found its way to her knee, stroking it gently with his thumb
"You okay?" he whispered in her ear for only her to hear
"Peachy." she said scornfully. She wasn't hungry anymore and if she had to sit there and take her sister's snide comments while her mother ignored it, she'd snap "I think I'm going to take a breather." she told him, dropping her napkin on the table as she stood.
"Where are you going, dorogaya?" her father asked, seeing her get up
"To check on the pies." she lied
"The pies are fine. Why don't you sit back down and enjoy dinner with your family." Emilia instructed
"I'm not really all that hungry anymore." she insisted
"Could have fooled me." Irina muttered under her breath, downing the rest of her glass
Yelena couldn't stop the words from spewing from her mouth "And what the hell is that suppose to mean?" she spat at her sister
Randy reached for her hand "Yelena." he cautioned
She snatched her hand away rudely "No." she said glancing at him before turning back to her sister "You have something you'd like to say then please, by all means, do so. The floor is yours as always." she challenged
Everyone was silent now, staring at her then at Irina and back
Irina sat back in her chair, her facial features matching her baby sister's "Fine, if you insist."
"Irina, fermarlo!" their mother demanded in Italian
"No mom! She asked. It's no secret that you've gained a few Yelena. I was just hinting that you might want to slow down. You're looking a little hefty."
"Irina!" Nik said sternly
"You might want to be careful or they might have to let your dress out again. Or worse, have to start over altogether, but is your dress. If you want to look like a cow, then be my guest." Irina finished, a nasty smirk on her face
She had heard enough. She hated how everyone was looking at her, their faces full of pity. What she hated the most was Randy's blue eyes gazing at her in confusion. Her green eyes filled with tears. Her worst fear was happening and she did the only thing she could: Flee. She ran from the room, mounting the stairs, making it to the bathroom just as the bile rose in her throat and heaved violently. So much for getting through the day without puking
The room was silent before Nik turned to his daughter, yelling at her in Russian. Randy was frozen. What the hell had just happened? He had the oddest feeling that he had missed something very important in that battle between the two sisters. Phil caught his eye across the table
"Go to her." he mouthed, directing his eyes to the door
He snapped out of it and got up without excusing himself and rushed out of the room and up the stairs. It took him a few tries, opening the doors of random rooms before he came across a locked door, the sound of sobbing catching his ears
He knocked on the door softly "Yelena? You in there?"
Her only response was a small sniffle. He jiggled the knob again "Yelena, baby, let me in." he begged
Yelena watched the door handle move back and forth. She didn't want him to see her like this. She was sure he was confused about why she abandoned the table. She was embarrassed by the way she acted. God, could her family have one decent holiday? She was glad that she didn't have to spend Christmas with this circus act. This was getting ridiculous. She was tired of it. She wished that she hadn't came at all. She'd had it up to here with them. Irina had only made a show of humiliating her because Randy and Phil were present. Something needed to be done. Something had to give.
"Yelena, please. Open the door." she heard Randy plead
She reached over from her spot on floor and unlocked the door. He came in slowly, shutting and turning the lock behind him. She could only image how she looked through his eyes. Her hair was a mess and she was pretty sure her mascara was running.
He sat down next to her on the floor "Are you okay?" he asked
She only shook her head no, fresh tears springing to her eyes. She couldn't control the sobbing that followed and she was thankful that Randy didn't ask anymore questions. He wrapped her up in his arms and let her cry
"I would understand if you want to leave if its too much for you." he told her
"I can't leave now. It won't change anything and Irina will think she won." she said honestly
"What the hell has she won?" Randy seethed. Irina was a piece of work. She was a nasty human being who took joy out of hurting others and he realized that now. She was everything that Yelena had warned him about
She pulled back, touching her hand to his cheek "I wish I could tell you."
He placed his large hand over hers "What can I do?" he asked
She smiled sadly "Val. Can you go get her please?"
"Of course." he kissed her forehead and stood, pulling her up with him and eased her down to sit on the toilet "I'll be right back."
"Okay." she said softly
He didn't want to leave her, but she needed her sister and he would do anything she asked. He pounded down the stairs. Val waiting at the bottom. Everyone had disbursed into the living room except Irina and their mother. He could hear angry voices yelling in Italian in the kitchen.
"How is she?" Valilisa asked
"She's in the upstairs bathroom. She needs you." he told her
She touched his arm gently "Thank you."
"You don't have to thank me." he said modestly
She gave him a smile before heading up the stairs. He sighed and joined the others, taking a seat next to Phil
"She okay?" he asked eagerly.
Randy could tell that he was just as worried about her "I wouldn't say that she's okay." he sighed
Irina came in, her face in a scowl and took a seat away from everyone. Her little dog jumped into her lap and she pulled out her phone to have a reason to not look anyone in the eye, especially her father. Randy rolled his eyes in disgust. How she and Yelena were related, he'd never know.
Yelena sighed as Val wiped the black streaks from her face and applied fresh makeup to her face. When she was done, she looked like a whole new person, but she didn't feel like one.
She stared at her reflection blankly "I can't take this shit anymore Val." she finally told her sister
"I know." she said, gently touching her sister's shoulder "What are you going to do?"
"I don't know." Yelena sighed heavily "When I think of something, you'll be the first and only person I tell." she said begrudgingly
Val nodded in understanding "Ready to go back out there?"
"Yeah."
Yelena took her sister's hand and together they went back downstairs
Randy breathed a sigh of relief when Yelena came into the room. She didn't speak and settle onto the couch beside him, snuggling into his side. He wrapped his arm around her
The atmosphere had definitely shifted, but he tried to make the best of the rest of the evening. He wasn't going to let Irina being a complete bitch ruin his chance of leaving a good impression on their parents. Irina excused herself and made herself scarce for a while, which was fine by him. Phil was due to leave for his flight and everyone said their goodbyes to him. Yelena volunteered to drive him to the airport
"Do you want me to come?" Randy offered
"No, I'll be fine. Unless your afraid to be alone with them." she said with a small smile
It was the first joke she'd made all day and that was enough for him
Phil came out of the kitchen with a plate of Babas and Yelena shook her head at him "Alright man. I'll see you Monday." he said, giving him a bro hug
"See ya. Enjoy the rest of your vacation." Randy said
"I'll be back in a bit." Yelena said, kissing his cheek.
The drive was silent. She could feel Punk's gaze on her until he finally asked if she was alright
"I'm not going to lie to you, I'm not." she said truthfully "I've been doing a lot of thinking today and I've come to the conclusion that I have to get away from them."
"If anyone understands where you are coming from, it's me."
Yelena knew he was referring to his non existent relationship with his mother and father, who treated him like he was invisible and treated his brother like the golden child
"There's an Irina in almost every family but yours is truly the worst."
"There's nothing like the original." she chuckled darkly
"You can't let her get under your skin like that or you'll never get over what you've been through."
She glanced at him curiously "You know?"
"Yeah... I noticed a while back and asked Aksana about it, I hope you're not upset."
"Its okay." she said with ease "If you didn't know before, you would have guessed it today. Can't say the same about Randy though."
"Are you going to tell him?"
She smiled wearily "Its on my list of to do's."
They arrived at the airport and Yelena pulled up next to the curb. Phil grabbed his bags from the trunk. She rounded over to his side and gave him a hug "See you at work."
"Thank you for inviting me. I had... Fun"
She snorted and released him "Text me when you land."
"I might." he said smartly "Later!" he called
She rolled her eyes and waved as he went inside
Randy went into the kitchen for a refill and instantly regretted his bad timing. Irina was leaning against the island, a glass of wine in hand
He was about to turn on his heel and bolt when she spoke
"You can come in Randy, I won't bite." she said with a smile
He entered slowly, going over to the fridge to fill his glass with water, his back to her. His spine tingled, sensing that she was watching him
She shot him what must of been an innocent smile, but he saw straight through her
"I didn't mean to upset her you know." she said
"I didn't say anything." he said flatly
"I know what you're thinking." she stated. "I was just trying to help her. She's always had a problem with her weight and I was only offering her my advice, but of course she got overly defensive as usual."
"She wasn't being defensive. You were poking the bear and she gave you the same thing you were giving her all day."
She stepped closer to him "Fair enough. Sometimes, I have a bad habit of speaking before I think, I'll admit that. Now she's upset with me and mom chewed me out for it and I'm the bad guy."
Randy felt a twinge of annoyance run through him. What, did she expect him to feel sorry for her? "Maybe you should try apologizing, that's a good start." he said bluntly
She smiled that devilish smirk "I will. When she gets back."
"Good." he said, wanting to be done with it.
She set her glass down and advanced closer "I'm not as horrible as you think I am." she said, placing a hand on his bicep
"I'm having a hard time believing that Irina." he said, glancing at her hand on his person
"I can be a good girl too. Like Yelena. You seem to like good girls, but everyone could use a bad girl every once in a while." she said, slipping her arms around his neck
"Irina" he warned, reaching behind his to free her hands, but she was fast, using the distraction of his hands to stand on her tip toes and crash her lips down on his. He could smell the alcohol on her breath. She had to be drunk. She'd been drinking all day.
"Come on Randy, I'm sure you can do better than that." she teased, trying to force her tongue in his mouth
He pushed his hands between them and shoved her away roughly "What the hell is the matter with you?" he barked at her
She had a crazed smile on her face, but she wasn't looking at him. She was looking over his shoulder. Randy whirled around.
Yelena stood in the doorway, her tears making her eyes glisten, her mouth agape in shock
Randy shut his own eyes, turning his face heavenward. Holy shit. "Yelena, babe-" he tried gently, but he stopped cold when he saw her eyes harden and her face turn red as she met her sister's eye
He didn't have time to react. She side stepped him with inhuman speed and in a blink of an eye, there was chaos. He saw her fist draw back and the rest was a blur. Irina's wailed like a banshee
"Yelena, don't!" he said, grabbing her by the waist, but she had an iron grip on her sister's hair and refused to let up
The thundering of footsteps were heard
"What is going on here?!" Randy heard Nik roar
Frederick appeared and tried to separate the two women, earning him and punch in the face
"Yelena, stop this right now!" Emilia yelled, but it was no use. Yelena was like a wildcat, thrashing and kicking to get at her sister. She was out for blood
"You psychotic bitch!" Irina yelled, holding her nose, blood was running heavily down her hand
That set Yelena off and she struggled hard against him to break free. Randy didn't think that someone that small had so much strength
"What the hell is going on? Yelena, why did you do this?" Emilia demanded, kneeling next to her bloodied daughter
"Why don't you ask her?" Yelena spat as Randy set her down cautiously on her feet
"She hit me! She's a fucking lunatic mom! I think my nose is broken." Irina cried
"Serves you right, you filthy slut! I walked in on her throwing herself at Randy! She's lucky I didn't break her fucking face!" Yelena yelled angrily
"That can't be true, why would your sister do such a thing?' her mother said
"Seriously mom?" Val asked, disgusted that her mother had to even ask
"I don't know mother, why does your precious daughter do half of the shit she does? You might pretend not to notice, but I've had enough of her bullshit and if she so much as breathes on Randy the wrong way-" she threatened
"You'll what?" Irina daringly challenged
"BITCH!" Yelena yelled
Randy was ready this time, holding her back firmly.
Nik had to come over and assist him "Is it true?" he asked him
"Of course it isn't Nik-" Emilia insisted
Their father shot her a look and she shut her mouth
All eyes turned to him, waiting
"Yeah." Randy finally answered
"Mom, my nose" Irina whined
"Oh, save it Irina! Haven't you caused enough trouble today?" Val barked as she examined Frederick's face
"Yelena, this whole altercation was uncalled for. Look what you did to your sister's face." Emilia said, helping Irina off of the floor
Yelena snorted in disbelief "ARE YOU FUCKING KIDDING ME RIGHT NOW, MOM? I CATCH HER KISSING MY BOYFRIEND AND ALL YOU CAN WORRY ABOUT IS HER FACE?!"
"We do not settle problems with violence and you know that!"
"Go to hell!" Yelena seethed
"Yelena!" her father exclaimed
"No! I'm done playing favorites with her! So fuck this, I'm leaving!" she said, pushing past Randy and disappearing
Randy followed, leaving the madness of her mom and dad arguing behind him
He found Yelena by the front door, shrugging into her coat
"Yelena, I didn't-"
"I know." she interrupted "I don't blame you. She knew what she was doing. Can we please just go?"
She didn't want to talk. All she wanted to do was get the hell out of this house and as far away as possible. Now
"Yeah."
They went to the car and he opened the door for her and she got in.
"Randy!" he heard Nik call from the porch
He crossed the lawn and stood before her father "Sir?"
"Take care of her. And tell her I'll call in the morning."
"Yes sir." Randy said
Nik reached out a hand to him and he shook it firmly before rushing back to the car. Once inside, he started it and pulled out into the driveway into the dark street and took off into the night.
Ah, a day with the Ulyanova family. Poor Yelena. I told you Irina wasn't as nice as you somewhat thought she was and their mother isn't any better. We definitely know where she gets it from. I hope you all enjoyed this chapter and I'm really looking forward to your reviews!
p.s~ The more reviews I get, the faster the next chapter gets put up, so I ask you all once again: HOW BAD DO YOU WANT IT!?
