So I'm in a generous mood. The number of reviews are looking good and as a thank you, here's a short little something for all my readers out there. I've been told that Aksana is being missed. It's not a happy moment between the two friends, but enjoy it away way!
Yelena sat in catering, the hood of her favorite sweatshirt was pulled up, pushing the untouched pasta salad around and around on her plate. She didn't have much of an appetite as of late.
The chair beside her scrapped against the floor, causing her head to jerk to the side in anticipation
It was just Aksana
"This seat taken?" she asked, holding a plate of onion rings
She shook her head and the dark haired Diva sat down. There was an awkward silence before Aksana finally asked her how she was doing
"I'm okay."
The Lithuanian woman raised an eyebrow at her estranged friend "You don't look okay." she said, biting one of the enormous rings on her plate "You've been walking around like a zombie all week."
Yelena let out a sigh. Aksana really did know her so well "I just... Have a lot on my mind."
"You want to talk about it?" she asked
Yelena shook her head once again, fidgeting with a loose thread on her worn sweatshirt
Aksana rolled her blue eyes "Of course you don't want to talk to me. That's what you have Rosa for right?" she said flatly
Yelena pushed her hood off, running a frustrated hand through her messy hair "Are you seriously doing this right now?" Yelena asked, growing agitated
"We haven't talked in weeks. We barley spend any time together anymore. Its like you've morphed into a completely different person."
Yelena pushed her chair back "I don't need this." she spat " I've got enough shit on my plate as is. Forgive me for not wanting my brain picked at the moment. If your going to be a judgmental bitch, stay the fuck away." she spat
Heads were turning in their direction, but Yelena didn't care
"When have I ever judge you? I'm trying to be a good friend here!" Aksana defended
Yelena let out a nasty snort "Bravo." she applauded sarcastically as she walked away
"Great. Run. You've become very good at it. Running from your problems always work so well, don't they?" Aksana said testily
"Screw you Aksana." she spat over her shoulder. She stormed out of catering, pulling her hood back up, not wanting to be bother. She had been so caught up on making a hasty exit, she didn't notice John's concern gaze.
"Do you know what the argument was about?" Randy asked after John was done telling him about Yelena's heated conversation with Aksana
It was weird. Yelena and Aksana had always been the best of friends. He had never seen them disagree with each other, much less argue
"I don't know, but Yelena said something about having a lot of shit on her plate. She seemed pretty upset. Everything okay with you two."
"I don't think so. I did apologize for being an ass last week. She seemed okay."
"Well something is obviously bothering her." John said, pushing open the doors to the locker room
Yelena sat on on of the benches and hopped up upon seeing him
"Hey babe." she said, crossing the room to him
She gave him a shy smile as she stood on tip toes to kiss him.
He cupped her face in between his hands, enjoying the sweet taste of her lips. She seemed okay. He studied the face he had come to love. She looked exhausted. He knew that she wasn't sleeping that well lately.
"How are you feeling?" he asked, stroking her cheek with the pad of his thumb
John grabbed a few things and excused himself to give them some privacy
"Just a little tired." she told him
He chose not to bring up what John told him "Did you eat today?" he asked her. She hadn't been doing much of that either lately
She shook her head
"Come on. Let's go find you something." he said taking her by the hand, but she pulled him back
"Wait. I uh... I need to talk to you about something.." she said, her head lowering slightly
"What's wrong?" he asked
"I-"
A knock sounded on the locker room door, a stagehand poking his head in "We need you at the gorilla position Mr. Orton."
Randy turned to her, placing a kiss on her cheek with an apologetic smile "We'll talk later?" he asked
She nodded "Yeah."
"Eat something." he told her before hurrying out the door.
"Damn it!" Yelena cursed
That was it. Another opportunity gone down the drain. She was losing her nerve. If she didn't tell him soon, she wasn't going to do it
She left the locker room and ran straight into Dean
"Oh thank god!" he muttered, draping an arm around the photographer's shoulder "Protect me."
She actually let out a laugh "From what?"
She was abruptly yanked to the right into a busy hallway, almost tripping over her own feet. Dean peeked around the corner ad Yelena looked over his shoulder. She spied a leggy blonde coming down the hall that they were just on. She glanced around before turning back around and heading in the opposite direction
"Was that-"
"Fucking Summer. Yeah, they called her up last week." Dean said miserably "Fuck my fucked up life."
Yelena snorted at the Cincinnati native's discomfort "Not happy to see your one night stand Ambrose?"
"She's a one night stand for a fucking reason. The girl is a professional slut."
Yelena threw and arm around him "Let go get something to eat before I die."
Dean nodded "You just read my mind. I could eat a horse and a half."
They turned the corner again and she froze when she saw Chris come out of the locker room. He paused when he saw the pair. His crystal blue eyes zeroing in on her arm around Ambrose's waist.
She felt small under his gaze, knowing what he was thinking and immediately dropped her grasp as they passed each other, Dean nodding in acknowledgement at the Canadian.
She kept her eyes downcast, like her converse were the most interesting thing at that moment
"You okay?" Dean asked, squeezing her shoulder gently
"Couldn't be better." she lied.
She knew she shouldn't have, but she chanced a glance over her shoulder. Like she knew he would be, Chris was watching. He shot her a wink and continued on in the opposite direction.
All of this torment was amusing him and she was slowly creeping into hysteria and it was only going to get worse. There was only downhill from there.
Yelena is letting Chris get the best of her. Was she wrong for taking her frustrations out on Aksana? Do you think Aksana is right? Has Yelena turned into a different person? This story is going to be winding down soon and it's time to choose your side: Team Chris or Team Randy? Drop me a review! Thanks for reading!
