With hand and claw, I tried prying my head off, believing it had to be a mask. But the longer I tried, not only did I feel pain as my nails dug themselves into the "mask", but every time I would try to bite my lips, I could only feel me retract that straw-like thing that was my mouth. All the signs were there that this was my real face, but I kept denying them to myself.
"You're wasting time." the bigger bug suddenly spoke, "Time which we don't have."
The woman laughed, "I'm guessing what he said made more sense to you than it does to me."
I looked at her. She knew that I have a tendency to understand any language I hear?
"Being a fly, and all." she added.
"She's right." the smaller fly said, "Flies have a language of their own. And if you can understand us, it means we've successfully fused you with that part of the fly's brain that allows him to understand others of his own kind."
Successfully? This was a success to them?
"I'll leave you boys to your own business, then." the woman said, as she turned on her heel and left this lab, her footsteps slowly dying away. Why was it that I knew her, and yet couldn't remember why I knew her?

As I followed Andre, I came across that Cylon woman. I almost stopped flying. What is a Cylon? Why do I know that word?
"Friend of yours?" Andre asked me.
I blinked my eyes. In itself also odd, as I didn't remember ever being able to do that. But the word "friend" did trigger a memory. I do have friends. One that is called Merlin, another called Saya. But why would I remember names of people I don't know?
"I was afraid that would happen." Andre said, "When I got fused with the fly, it was an accident. Some parts of my brain went into this body, while the others remained with the other one. This time, they tried to control it, and that's what's causing the confusion. Isn't it?"
I didn't know what he was talking about, so I could only guess that he was right.
"Come on, let's sit down, and I'll explain what I'm planning." he flew on, and I followed him.
We eventually found a spot to land on. From there, I could see others in the room. Three monsterous bodies. I had seen two of them before, but this third one was new. But like one of the other two, he had the head of a fly too, as well as one of its claws. But did I see this right? That claw, it looked exactly like the one I used to have. This thing, whatever he is, he stole my head and claw?
"All right, listen to me." Andre said, "Those two are waiting for a man to arrive. This man has been collecting these electronic mosquitoes. Mosquitoes, which they hope to make fully operational again. But if we can reprogram them before they do, they will do what we tell them to. And when they do, we can stop those guys from doing what they're planning. You understand?"
Not fully, but the idea of a man collecting electronic mosquito did ring a bell to me.
"Of course, we have to wait until this man arrives, so we have to be sure not to be caught by then."
No we didn't, I thought to myself. I wasn't sure why, but I knew where to find one of these mosquitoes he was talking about. I flew up to look for it. Andre called after me, telling me to stay put, but that would mean I'd stay in this form for much longer than I'd like. So I ignored him.

Something kept telling me I had to tell someone about this woman. But who? What did these guys do to me?
"You're probably wondering what is going on." the smaller fly asked me, "It's simple, really. Ms. Godfrey asked us if we could help her take over the entire multiverse. Of course we'd love nothing more, but not for her."
"Why should we just do what she asks? Or what this leader of her wants us to do?" the bigger one added, "I'm sure you understand that much."
Only too well, I thought. But why? I vaguely remembered fighting people who are trying to control others. I even remembered faces. One young man, able to make things happen just by saying so. Another was a young woman, who carried some kind of weapon. One that even... hurt me. Who are they? Why do they keep flashing through my head? My head felt as if someone was sticking millions of needles through it.
"We are giving him too much to think about." the smaller fly said, "He's still trying to fully process his new brain."
"Think he can still follow simple instructions?" the bigger one wondered.
"It may be all he can do." the smaller one replied, "You, see that kitten over there?"
He pointed at an animal in a cage. If that was indeed a kitten, I nodded.
"Take it out of its cage, then take one of those little devices over there."
I looked at what he was pointing at. There was a tray, upon which there were several small ball-shaped devices. I had no idea what they were supposed to be, or what these bugs hoped to do with them, but it hurt too much to think about it. So I didn't question it. I nodded again.
"Take them both, then put them inside that pod over there."
He pointed at something that looked like that egg-shaped chamber I left before, but it wasn't the same one. I wanted to think about what he was up to, but that hurt too much, again. I just did as instructed.

I didn't know why, but I knew that this new monster had one of these mosquitoes in his pocket. So all I had to do was fly over to him, get inside his pocket, and take it out. But that soon proved to be easier said than done. This being, though he moved slowly, he was always moving. Every time I flew to where he was, he was already somewhere else. And what was he doing, anyway? He picked a cat from its cage, as well as picking up some kind of ball from the table, both of which he placed inside these large machines. But what for? I had to wait until he was standing still, behind the other two, and then I could finally reach him. I flew up to him, aiming right for his right-hand pocket. Closer and closer I flew. Until something caught me. Was I stuck in one of those sticky wires again? Was I about to be restrained by that eight-legged freak again? No, that wasn't it. This happened to me only once before, but I do remember I was still able to see then. This time, it was like all the lights went out. I punched the thing that held me, but it wouldn't let go. I could feel myself spinning around, and only then did "it" let go, and did the light return to me. As I watched, I recognized what it was that caught me. It was made of the same material as my new leg was. I dare even say it looked exactly the same, except a lot larger. It too had those five strange tentacles, which seeing them this large reminded me even more of that eight-legged freak. I tilted my head up, to see the other end of this thing. Horror started to creep up on me as I saw where it came from. It came from that thing that has my head and claw. What did it plan to do with me? Eat me? Squash me? I wished Saya and Merlin would help me, but I didn't even know who they were, or why they would help me.
