AN: Okay, here's Chapter 2. It's going to be a little shorter than chapter 1, but it's pretty much just a filler chapter. Just to get things moving along. Hoping to get this hashed out tonight (3/10/15) because I have to work tomorrow and don't want to postpone it any longer! Keeping my fingers crossed! Let me know what you think!
Disclaimer: I still don't own the characters.
RACHEL
At the loft
Rachel pattered around the kitchen, cleaning up the dishes she had dirtied earlier that day. Having the loft to herself since Kurt had moved out a year ago had been nice. No one was upset when she wandered around the house, singing and dancing about. But it did get rather lonely.
She thought back to the time that she and Finn had been making plans to get married and find a home in New York. The slight twinge in her heart let her know she still wasn't over the death of her first love. Setting the thought aside, she dried the last few dishes before grabbing her tea and going to settle in her bedroom.
She looked around and smiled. The posters lining her wall were no longer of her childhood dreams. She no longer needed the posters of Barbara to keep her going. Instead, she had posters of herself debuting as Fanny. She had a few posters from her time doing Wicked with her mother, Shelby. And the one poster that was ever released for her own TV show, That's so Rachel adorned her wall as well.
She had pursued her dreams. And they had gone above and beyond. She had three Tony's and a few other awards all safely tucked away. Those were prizes she wanted to keep to herself.
But now; now she was pursuing a new dream. Shortly after her failed attempt of a TV show, she had gone back home to Lima. There, she had directed The New Directions for a time. It had been fantastic. She loved being back in that choir room, with some of the people she had learned to love throughout high school.
She had watched as Quinn and Puck's relationship had flourished. She was giddy when Blaine and Kurt finally fixed their relationship and tied the knot. She should have been more upset when Brittany and Santana didn't work out that one last time. But somehow, she felt relieved.
A year after her failed show and move back to Lima, she was offered a teaching position at NYADA and was all too excited to take it. So she said goodbye to The New Directions and moved back to the city that stole her heart.
Smiling to herself, Rachel sipped at her tea and poured over her lesson plan for the following week. Ever being the multi-tasker, she also planned her girls-night-out for the following night before texting Santana the details and settling down for bed.
The following night
The music in the club was loud and booming. Rachel had already had a shot of tequila and watched as Santana and Dani took to the dance floor. Santana had invited her new friend, Tony to the monthly event, and Rachel was happy to have another girl around. Ever since Kurt and Blaine had married and started their fashion line, Kurt has been a fleeting addition to girls night.
Tony walked over to Rachel, handing a drink to the brunette.
"So, how did Santana meet you?" Rachel asked above the music.
"She was out for drinks with her partner and he had to bail on her. She looked a little lonely at the bar, so I struck up a conversation." Tony responded.
"Six years ago, she would have pegged you with the HBIC glare and you would have wet your pants! She didn't take kindly to strangers back then."
"HBIC?" Tony asked.
"Head Bitch In Charge," Santana shouted, coming off the dance floor. "It was Quinn's signature look, but I kinda modified it with a little Lima Heights Adjacent attitude." Rachel laughed. "Come on, hobbit. You know I mastered that look. Everyone was terrified of me!"
Rachel smiled, taking a drink out of the glass that Tony had brought her. She could taste a hint of butterscotch in it.
"Yeah, you had everyone terrified all right. But it might also have had something to do with you shouting obscene and foul words in spanish all through the halls."
"Esa es toda la razón, Berry. Y yo te digo; Todavía tengo el toque."
Rachel laughed loudly. "You don't scare me anymore, Santana. Don't forget, I learned quite a bit of spanish while in college, bonito."
Santana flipped the diva off as Dani pulled her back out onto the dance floor. Rachel just downed her drink and laughed.
"I'll be right back, Tony. I'm gonna go get another drink," Rachel shouted. Tony nodded.
Rachel weaved her way through the crowed to the bar and waved down the bartender. The tall, blond woman made her way down the bar.
"What can I get for you, beautiful?" she asked Rachel.
Rachel smiled, "Can I please have a bahia breeze?"
"On one condition," the bartender responded.
"Oh?" Rachel asked.
"Let me take you to dinner tomorrow night?"
AN: Phew. Alright! I did it! I feel pretty accomplished. But goodness...Rachel is in a pickle, isn't she? What will she say? What will Santana say when she finds out? This could get ugly. Leave me comments, folks! I hope you like it so far!
