Emily's POV
The things that Hanna said to me hurt me a lot. I know she wasn't in a sober state but she meant every word she said to could you blame her? After I got that S.O.S text from Aria I didn't know what to think. She told us it was about Hanna I got so worried because I care about Hanna a lot. Even though earlier that day I was mad at them I still came because she is my best friend. Although I should have listened to my friends because I was wrong about Paige. After I left Aria's I was pretty upset so I went over to Paige's house. I think that was a big mistake because I have never been so hurt in my life.
Flashback
I can't believe Hanna said those things to me. I've never seen her so upset ever, even if she is drunk she is a happy, fun drunk. Even if she was mad she would never yell at me like that, she has something that is eating her up. But she hurt me, so why am I so worried about her? Hanna used to be the one person that made everything better when I was upset. I guess she isn't anymore, Paige could make me feel better. I start my car and head to my girlfriend's house. It took about ten minutes to get there, I parked and went to her front door with tears on my face. I knocked on the door waiting for an answer. The door opened and there Paige was looking at me like she saw a ghost.
" Uh hey Em, what brings you over?" She asked me looking up her stairs then back at me.
" C-can I come in?" I asked sniffling because I was crying a little.
" It's not really a great time Em. I'm going through uh family stuff." She said looking at the ground.
" But your parents aren't even here, their car isn't here." I told here looking at the drive way.
" Did I say family stuff I meant-" I cut her off and went pass her to get into her house.
" I just need someone right now Paige." I said sitting on her couch.
" I get that Emily but it is really not a good time right now." Paige said putting emphasis on the word really.
" Why? What is going on Paige?" I asked her standing up.
" Uh-" she was cut off by another voice that I didn't recognize.
" Babe what is taking so long?" A red headed girl asked coming down the stairs. " The movie is about to start." I looked back and forth between the girl and Paige. My heart instantly broke in half.
" Emily it is not what it looks like." Paige said to me.
" Paige are you kidding me? Why else would she call you babe?" I yelled at her.
" I can explain-" Paige was saying before I cut her off.
" Gosh I'm so damn stupid, I should have listened to the girls. You are nothing but a piece of shit Paige." I said crying.
" I think I should go." The red head said.
" No you stay I'll go." I said walking towards the door but Paige grabbed my arm to stop me.
" Emily I'm sorry." She said and I yanked my arm away from her.
" I stuck up for you Paige against my friends. I trusted you on this but now I know I shouldn't have because you are such a liar. I am so fucking stupid for believing you. So don't apologize because you don't mean it." I said pouring my heart out.
" I never wanted to hurt you Em." Paige said looking at her feet.
" Then what were your intentions? You didn't think cheating on me would hurt me? That is some bull shit. Hanna was right about me and definitely about you." I said looking at her.
" Em-" Paige started to say.
" No I am so done with you Paige. I don't want to speak to you or see your face ever again. Fuck you and your little side chick." I said walking out the door and slamming it shut. I ran to my car and just broke down, face covered with tears. I calmed down enough so I could drive home. It was an emotional night for me first I get upset at Hanna for saying Paige is cheating on me, then it turns out Paige was cheating on me. I can't believe Paige had the nerve so say sorry, like that would make everything magically better. This has to be the worst night of my life. I drove home, when I got there my mom asked me what was wrong. Of course I said it was nothing because I wasn't ready to talk about everything. I went upstairs to my room and changed into pajamas. Once I got into my bed I curled up, hugging a pillow and cried myself to sleep.
End of flashback
I woke up the next morning my brain was pounding, probably I was dehydrated from all my crying. I went downstairs to find my mom cooking breakfast. I sit down at the table and put my head down.
" Good Morning, are you alright?" My mom asked me.
" I'm fine." I sighed lifting my head up.
" Honey by the looks of it you are not fine. What's wrong?" She asked with concern.
" Paige cheated on me." I said trying not to let myself cry.
" Oh dear, I'm so sorry." She said coming over to my side to hug me.
" It's okay mom I'll be fine." I said sniffling.
" Okay do you want something to eat?" She asked.
" Yes please and some orange juice too." I asked her with a slight smile.
" No problem sweetie, here you go." She said as gave me my breakfast and juice. I ate all my food, my mom told me she had somewhere to be so she left. After I washed my dish I went back up stairs. I decided to take a shower, after that I went to put on some comfortable clothing. I went to my dresser and picked out some clothes. I put on a white tank without a bra and short shorts. I was thinking about going back over to Ar's and tell them they were right. I changed my mind because Hanna told me not to crawl back to her. I sighed and went back downstairs to watch some TV. After a couple of minutes watching TV I heard my doorbell ring. I wasn't expecting anyone, so who could it be? I walked to my door and opened it.
Hanna's POV
I woke up not knowing where I was until I saw Spencer and Aria asleep. My heading was pounding most likely because of the alcohol. I lay there staring at the ceiling trying to remember what happened last night. The only things I do remember is getting drunk, high and coming to Aria's house. I also remember yelling at Emily but I don't remember what I was yelling about or why. I am more than hungover, I seriously need an Aspirin. I nudge Aria an Spencer to get up. They got up I asked for an Aspirin and Aria gave me it and some water. They asked me if I remember anything about last night. I told them not much I told them I only remember a little. They told me what I said to Emily and I immediately felt bad. I would never In a million years mean to say those things to Emily. I told them they had to drop me off at Em's so I could apologize to her. I got up only to sit right back down because of my head. I asked Aria for some sunglasses and a beanie. She gave them to me and I put them on. I drunk all of the water she gave me earlier then I was ready to go. Spence told me I told Em not to crawl back to me but look at me I'm crawling back to her. I just love her too much to stay mad at her. I can not take this anymore, I need to tell her I love her as soon as I see her. I don't know how she is going to take it since she is with Paige still but I have to get this off my chest for myself. Aria asked me if I was ready I told her I was. All three of us went downstairs, Aria grabbed her keys and we were out the door. As soon as we got out the the sun was shining bright, thank goodness I had these sunglasses on. It seemed like every inch we drove my pulse was beating faster and faster, my palms were getting sweaty. It took about fifteen minutes to get there but to me it was like two seconds. We pulled up and Spencer and Aria wished me luck. I got out the car, we bid goodbyes and they drove off. I just stood there looking at Emily's house, my feet not able to move forward. I told myself it was now or never so I began walking up her pathway. The closer I got my nerves were all over the place. I arrived at her door, by this point my hand was shaking. I started to have second thoughts but my conscience told me to stop being such a bitch. I inhaled deeply and finally knocked. My pulse was banging in my brain, that didn't help my headache. I could hear footsteps coming towards the door, gosh this is so nerve racking. The door finally opened revealing Emily in tight, short shorts and a tank top. I looked her up and down thinking, damn she is so sexy. I shook those thoughts out of my head and looked her in the eyes, through my sunglasses.
" Hanna what are you doing here?" She asked me but not rudely.
" Uh can I come in?" I asked her.
" Yeah sure." She said letting me passed her. I walked into her living room and sat on the couch. Emily came in after and sat beside me.
" Em I would like to apologize for the things I said and called you last night. I was way out of line and you didn't deserve that." I said taking the sunglasses and beanie off. I looked over to Emily and she was tearing up.
" Hanna there is no need to apologize, in fact I'm the one that should be apologizing. Last night I went to Paige's after you yelled at me and I found out the truth. You and the girls were right, Paige was cheating on me. I was stupid enough to believe her and not you guys. I'm so sorry Hanna." Emily said breaking down in tears. I scouted closer to her and wrapped my arms around her to comfort her.
" Em I'm sorry you had to find out that way." I told her rubbing her her back as she laid on my shoulder. I can't say I'm not relived but I absolutely hate seeing Emily cry.
" To be honest I should have known because she was acting weird and you guys called it." Emily said calming down a little.
" Paige didn't deserve you, I know you love her but it was her loss not yours. If she couldn't see how wonderful you are she is out of her mind. I know your heart is broken so I am going to help you get over this. Maybe someday the right person will come along and treat you like the princess you are." I told her. As you can see I decided not to tell her how I feel because she just got her heart broken. Plus I don't think it would be a good idea if my heart would be broken as well.
" Hanna, I love you. Thank you for being here for me, making me feel better and loving me." Emily said sitting up meeting my eyes, our face were only a couple of inches apart.
" I'll always be here for you and I love you too." I told her. This would be the perfect time to kiss her but we all know why I can't.
" Since you are here, why don't we make the best of it?" Emily said getting up to put music on, of course she chooses Beyoncé. Emily wiped her tears away and smiled at me.
" Em can't we just sit here and enjoy the peace and quiet." I suggested because I was still hungover. She came over to me and reach her hand out for me.
" Come on and dance." She said and I told her no. " Come on Han, for me." She pouted and made a puppy dog face. Who can say no to her face? I rolled my eyes and took her hand.
" Alright one song." I told her. We ended up dancing for like an hour. My headache seemed to slip away as I spent time with Emily. She seems to make me feel better that's exactly why I would do anything for her. I love her so much but could you blame me?
Two Weeks Later ( Still in Hanna's POV)
I have to say I am more in love with Emily than ever. These past two weeks have been great spending time with her. It's has just been perfect without any fights or anyone crying. Everyday I go over Emily's house or she comes to mine and we just hang out. Spencer and Aria are glad that we are spending time together for my sake. I told them I was going to tell Em I have feelings for her tonight. I'm not scared anymore I might be nervous but I've grown some balls. Emily has been extra clingy but I'm not complaining. She texts me like every second, we are on the phone for hours talking about nothing. When we are watching a movie or going to sleep she instantly wraps herself on me. It's like we already are a couple except without the dates, kisses, and sex. If Emily doesn't feel the same way I won't be sad because I know we'll still be friends. Friends is better than nothing and I'll take what I can get. Tonight I am taking Emily to the carnival to " Woo" her I guess. Emily thinks Spencer and Aria are coming with us but there aren't. The plan is to "meet up" with them at the carnival but they won't show up. That way I'll have Emily all to myself, in fact this was Aria and Spencer's idea. I was just going to go over to Emily's house and tell her but they told me that was lame. I'm on my way to her house to chill before we go to the carnival. I get in my car and arrive at her house. As soon as I knocked the door flings open and Emily pulls me into a tight hug.
" Hey you." She says letting go of me and pulling me inside her house.
" Are you excited to see me?" I teased her with a smirk.
" I'm always excited to see you." She says sending me a shy smile. Gosh she is so cute.
" I'm glad to see you too, now what are we going to do for the next hour?" I asked looking at my watch and it was six p.m., we are going to leave at seven.
" Um I don't know. What do you want to do?" She asked me.
" Em this your house remember?" I asked jokingly
" Duh but it is kind of your house also." She told me.
" Okay I guess you are right. Uh let's play a game or something." I suggested.
" Okay what kind of game?" Emily asked with a smile.
" A game we played when we were kids." I said rubbing my chin to think.
" I got it, let's play hide and seek." Emily thought of.
" Perfect you count first." I told her because if I hide first she would never find me.
" No I came up with the idea, you count first." She told me.
" Fine but just know I could find you like in thirty seconds." I said because Emily I guess never understood the game when we were younger. The girls and I would always find her because she didn't exactly hide well.
" Alright sit on the couch because it is base. No peeking and you can count now." I did what she told me and counted until I heard ready. I get up from the couch and went into the kitchen first, I looked under the cabinets she wasn't there. I looked in the dining room both downstairs closets, the laundry room and the downstairs bathroom. I couldn't find her looks like she has gotten better at this game, I went upstairs to look. I looked in the hall closet, the guest room, even her parents room and bathroom. I still couldn't find her but there was only one more place to look, her room. I entered her room checked under her bed, closet and her bathroom she wasn't in there. What the hell? I looked all over this house , so where is she? It has been about twenty minutes since I started looking for her. I went back downstairs ad found Emily on the couch eating Ritz crackers and spray cheese.
" Where the hell were you?" I asked her taking a seat next to her on the couch.
" Did you check the pantry?" She asked me with a smirk.
" No." I said.
" Well that's where I was." She said the sprayed some spray cheese in her mouth.
" You've gotten better a this game Fields." I complimented her.
" Thanks, I wish I could say the same for you." She said laughing.
" Yeah whatever. You got anything to drink?" I asked her.
" I think so, let's go check." She said getting up to go into the kitchen so I followed her.
" Oh look what we got here." She said taking a pitcher of lemonade out of the refrigerator.
" Is that your moms lemonade?" I asked getting excited because I love her moms lemonade.
" Yep." She said while getting two cups and filling them up with ice.
" This is so good." I said after taking a sip from the glass and taking a seat on the kitchen counter.
" I know you love my moms fresh lemonade." Emily said setting down her cup. I looked at her and just noticed how outfit.
" You look cute Em, I mean you outfit is cute." I told her and she looked down blushing.
" Thanks I like yours too." She told me. I looked at my watch and it was time to leave.
" It's time to go Em." I told her and she pulled out her phone.
" Already?" She asked.
" Yes, now let's get going." I said jumping off the counter and grabbing her hand. She locked her door and we were off to the carnival. It was going to take a while because the carnival was in Philly. We finally got there and Emily jumped out the car before I even stopped the car. She is way to excited for this.
" Are Spencer and Aria already here?" Emily asked me.
" I don't know, I'll text them when we get in the carnival." I told her then we walked over and I payed for the tickets. I pretended to text Spencer, I waited like a minute to tell Emily.
" Oh no." I said looking at my phone.
" What is wrong?" Emily asked me.
" They aren't coming." I said looking at Emily.
" Oh well, did they say why they aren't coming?" Emily asked.
" They didn't say. You're okay with them not coming?" I asked her.
" It's fine that just means I get to spend more time with you." Emily said looping her arm with mine.
" Okay, What do you want to do first?" I asked with a grin.
" Let's eat first, I'm kind of hungry." She said.
" Alright what do you want? My treat." I told her.
" Han you paid our way in, I can pay for my food. Thanks anyway." Emily told me. Of course being her sweet self she didn't want me to pay for her food.
" Emily I wasn't asking to pay for you, I was telling you I was paying for you." I said laughing.
" Are you sure?" She asked.
" Of course, everything is on me." I told her with a smile.
" It's like this is a date or something, you're too sweet Han." Emily laughed.
" Well this could be a date if you want it to be." I blurted out.
" Okay then this is a date." Emily said laughing I don't think she took what I said seriously.
" What do you want?" I asked her poking her belly.
" I just want a snack maybe we should share some cotton candy." Emily suggested.
" I like that idea." I told her as we made our way towards one of the many food stands. " Could I get one cotton candy please ?" I asked the worker. She handed me the cotton candy and I gave her the money.
" I love this stuff." Emily said ripping a piece and devoured it quickly. I laughed at her. " What's funny?" She asked me getting anther piece and doing the same.
" Nothing you're just cute." I said admiring her and she blushed a little.
" Thanks but look a you and your cute dimples." She said poking my dimples and it was my turn to blush. " Open up." She told me trying to feed me some cotton candy.
" Woah lady this is only our first date, plus I don't know where your hands have been." I said teasing her.
" You know you want to silly." She said dangling it in front of my face. I rolled my eyes and let her feed me.
" Alright your turn." I said shoving a piece in her mouth.
" What are you trying to do kill me?" She said swallowing hard.
" Sorry. What do you want to do next?" I asked her putting the last piece in my mouth.
" Let's do bumper cars!" Emily said excited.
" Sounds like a plan." I told her and I throw what was left of the cotton candy stick.
" Come on there is already a long line." She told me and interlocked our fingers together. Immediately I felt electricity run through my body. Emily and I have held hands many times before but never like this. I looked over at Emily and this doesn't seem to have an effect on her. Unlike I am, right now I'm basically not able to breath. We finally get in line for the bumper cars. Emily let go of my hand, instantly I missed her touch. I looked down at hand and debated with myself whether I should grab her hand or not. I made up mind I reach for her hand, Emily moved up because of the line so I ended up touching her butt. She turned around and smirked at me, I scratched the back of me neck afraid of what she would say.
" You don't have to get all handsy Han, we're in public." She said laughing at me.
" I-I didn't... it was on accident sorry." I stuttered out and she laughed at the face I was making.
" Hanna it's okay I was just joking, but if you wanted to touch my ass just ask." Emily winked at me. Relief washed though my body because I'm glad we could joke around like this. Well at least she was joking.
" That's a good note, I'll keep that in mind." I smirked at her and she laughed at me. Things like this give me more confidence to tell Emily how I feel.
" You're so funny." She said poking my nose.
" I've been told." I said grinning and nudging her to move up in the line.
" I'm serious you always, no matter what seem to make me smile or laugh." She said getting serious now.
" That's what I'm here for Em, to make you happy." I told her with a smile.
" You do make me happy, I hope I make you happy too." Emily told me.
" I'm glad I can be the cause of your smile and you make me super happy by the way." I told her. I wanted to say something like this instead. Emily you make me more then happy, you make me fell like I'm floating and drowning at the same time. You make me fall in love with you over and over again.
" That's good." Emily said and I agreed. It was finally own turn to ride the bumper cars. It was so much fun crashing in to strangers and them chasing after me. I did a few hit and runs it was super funny. Emily was stuck with a couple of people on the other side of the track. I made my way over and bump into Emily which caused everyone getting unstuck. I kept on ramming into to Emily and she was laughing so hard. Our time had ended because it was the next people's turn.
" That was so much fun." Emily exclaimed.
" Yeah, did you see when I crashed into that one chick? She got so mad." I told her laughing.
" Yeah I saw you did that to a bunch of people, including me. What's next ?" Emily asked giggling.
" The carousel duh." I said grabbing her hand.
" Great idea, we should sit in one of those carriages." Emily said while we walked to the carousel.
" I loved these things ever since I was a kid." I told Emily.
" Same I think it is the best thing besides the Ferris wheel." Emily said squeezing my hand.
" Yeah I think we should go to the Ferris wheel after this." I told her. We got into one of the four seated carriages because all the two seated ones were taken. Emily and I sat down next to each hoping some freaks don't come sit across from us. Two girls came up holding hands and laughing, they sat across from us. They smiled at us and we smiled back.
" The lights are so pretty." Emily said looking all around as the ride began.
" No as pretty as you." I told Emily poking her nose and she blushed.
" Awe you guys are so cute." One of the girls sitting across from us said.
" Oh you think... we aren't-" I tried to explain to the girls but the other interrupted me.
" How long have you guys been dating?" The girl asked. I looked at Emily seeing how she would react to the question. Emily looked at me a smiled.
" Oh this is our first date." Emily told the girls. I looked at Emily in confusion but she ignored me.
" That's cool. We are here for our four month anniversary." The girl told us looking lovingly at her girlfriend.
" Nice. What are your names?" I asked them.
" I'm Rachel and this is Izzie." Rachel said introducing them.
" I'm Emily and this is Hanna." Emily said introducing us to them. The ride was slowing down indicating it was coming to an end.
" It was nice meeting you guys." Izzie said getting up pulling Rachel up with her.
" You too, I hope you have fun on your anniversary." I told them standing up.
" Thanks, you guys enjoy the rest of your date." Rachel told us.
" We will bye." Emily said pulling me off the ride. We started walking to the Ferris wheel but I stopped.
" Em?" I asked.
" Yeah." She answered.
" Why did you tell those girls that we were on a date?" I asked nervously not looking at her.
" You said this could be a date if I wanted it to be, didn't you?" Emily asked.
" Well yeah but-" I tried to explain.
" Hanna chill friends go on dates all the time." Emily said.
" Yeah but I want to be more than friends." I said under my breath so she couldn't hear.
" What was that?" Emily asked.
" Oh nothing." I said grinning at her. I have to tell Emily at the perfect time, which is at the top of the Ferris wheel.
" You ready to go?" She asked me.
" Yeah." I told her and we starting walking to the Ferris wheel line. As we walked to the line I started to get a little it more confident in myself judging by how Emily is acting. First we're sharing food and holding hands like a couple. Then Emily tells those to girls the we are dating and not to mention she is flirting with me. I mean I always flirting with her but she just blushes like crazy and now she is flirting back. I mean if she doesn't like me I'm going to be so confused. Don't mean to brag looks like Emily is falling for me. We finally got to get on the wheel, it was going to take awhile to get to the top because people still had to get off and on. Emily scooted closer to me and laid her head on my shoulder and looped her arm with mine. I looked down at her and then looked away. We stayed silent just listening to each other breathe. We were getting closer and closer to the top, my hands started to get sweaty. We were inches away to the top I took a deep breath.
" Emily I have to tell you something, something I've wanted to tell you for a long time." I said and take another deep breath.
" What is it Han?" Emily asked lifting her head up from my shoulder and looking me in my face.
" Okay so uh I've been having certain feelings towards you, as in I like like you." I told her straight forward, Emily let go of my arm and looked everywhere but me. I took this as a sign that she didn't feel the same, I was disappointed. " Look Em I understand you don't feel the same way. We could forget about this and go back to being fri-" I rambled on until Emily interrupted me with her lips. I was shocked at first so it took me a second to respond. I felt fireworks go off in my heart kiss Emily. Our lips moved in perfect sync, she placed her hand on the back of my neck and I placed my hand on her thigh. We finally pulled apart but that left me in a daze.
" I don't want to be just friends with you." Emily breathed out and then smiled.
" I can tell. What is that you have on, strawberry?" I asked touching my lips. " I never thought you would feel the same, this is like a dream come true." I told her truthfully and of course smiling like crazy.
" Well it's kind of hard not to catch feelings for someone who likes you, not to mention if you're really close." Emily said.
" Wait, you knew I liked you? Before I told you?" I asked her.
" Yeah." She told me.
" How?" I asked.
" Hanna are you kidding me? You were so obvious these past two weeks. Even before then I always thought our relationship was... different. Also believe it or not Paige even told me you liked me." Emily told me.
" So... you like me?" I asked taking her hand.
" We just kissed like a second ago." Emily joked.
" Anyone can kiss, I'm serious I need to know if you feel the same." I told her.
" Okay yes I do like you Hanna. I've liked you before Paige and I got together but she was just a distraction I guess. Spending so much time with you lately made me realize I wanted to be with you." Emily said smiling and squeezing my hand.
" That is good to know because I have liked you since forever." I told her we got off the Ferris wheel holding hands again.
" Thank you for taking me here Hanna, I don't believe that Aria and Spencer bull." She said and I laughed.
" Okay I have two questions for you." I told her.
" Ask away." She said playing with my fingers as we just walked around the carnival.
" Emily Fields a first date kisser? I would've never thought." I told her winking at her and she laughed. " Okay the second question is important. Emily Fields will you be my girlfriend?" I asked her.
" Of course Han." She said pulling me into a tight hug and kiss.
" Alright what next?" I asked swinging our arms as we walked. Tonight has to be the best night of my life. I finally get the girl of my dreams. After all this time of being a coward I finally had the balls to tell her, I am proud of myself.
