A/N: Hi all :D

I know I said that I was going to get a chapter up soon after the last because of all the long car rides that I had during thanksgiving, but that didn't happen, and I had exams and then getting home (I am now back in England!) and Christmas and I barely had time to sleep, never mind anything else! So I am so sorry that it has taken me this long to post another chapter, but here it is! And this chapter includes Baby Princess Braxton's name!

I am hoping to get another chapter of Tenuous Fighter up very soon. I've got the general frame of the next chapter, but I'm having trouble filling it out (Lydia is being very, very difficult just lately. She knows what she wants me to say, but she refuses to help me figure out how to say it...)

Anyway, enjoy! and please let me know what you think! (especially about Baby Braxton's name!)

Thanks,

xoloveJBox

P.s there's another A/N at the bottom, but it only really is relevant to a review I received about the way I'm portraying Phoebe, so if that's not something that interests you, feel free to skip it :)

Chapter Eight

The crying and screaming started around half one. Still wrapped up in sleep, the sound startled Kyle awake, and it took him a few long seconds to remember what was going on. When he was a little more conscious, Kyle threw back his covers and padded to the end of his bed. The baby wailed, and no matter what Kyle tried to soothe her, nothing seemed to work. He picked her up and cooed gently. He'd remembered to keep some nappies in his room, so he changed her in case that was the problem. If anything, when he lay her on the bed, she cried even more. The only other thing Kyle could think of was that she was hungry, but he'd forgotten to make up any bottles before going to bed, so he bundled her up and carried her downstairs before she could wake up the whole street.

Listening to her, he wondered if she couldn't wake up the whole bay.

The living room was dark when he walked in, and it was a struggle not to let out a long string of swears when he stubbed his toe as he made his way to switch on the lamp.

Once he could see what he was doing, Kyle went to put his daughter in the Moses basket, but again, it only elicited more howling from the small child that only lessened-albeit, a small amount- when he bought her back to his chest.

"Yeah, I know, I know," he grumbled as he waited for the kettle to heat up "I'm tired too."

He barely heard the front door open while he stifled a yawn, and he turned to see Bianca tying up her dressing gown.

"Sorry we woke you," he apologized quietly, and Bianca shot him a warm, weary smile.

"It's alright," she assured him gently, "Babies cry Kyle, it something we're all going to get used to."

"I think she just wants a feed." Kyle replied, hoping he was right because, if not, he had no idea what she could need.

Bianca stepped up to the counter and moved the bottle and milk formula in front of her.

"I can do it. You go back to bed." Kyle told her, and Bianca simply shot him an amused grin.

"Kyle, sweetheart," she chuckled "You can barely do it with two hands yet, and by the sounds of her, she's not going to let you put her down."

Kyle thought about arguing, but he couldn't deny that his sister-in-law was right. He smiled gratefully at her and wandered back towards the living room, swaying gently to rock the baby in his arms, hoping to calm her.

A few minutes later, Bianca came out to him, brandishing the made bottle, contents made and ready for the hungry child. Kyle settled down on one end of the couch while Bianca took the other end, and he was more than a little disappointed when the little girl refused to take the bottle.

"What now?" Kyle asked Bianca desperately, confusion etched into his dark features.

"The world's a scary place," Bianca told him softly "She's adjusting just as much as you are. But it won't take long to know that you're here to keep her safe. She'll settle soon enough."

For such a small creature, Kyle couldn't work out how she could make so much noise, and his distress was more than evident on his face.

"Kyle," Bianca started, reaching across to set a hand on his arm comfortingly "when you stop fretting, so will she." She looked over at the coffee table and picked up the book of baby names she'd left there that afternoon "Since we're up, why don't we see if we can find this little angel a name?"

For an hour or so, the baby continued to grumble, even after Kyle finally managed to feed her the milk. They lost count of the amount of names Bianca suggested, but to Kyle, none of them seemed to fit. He'd chosen a middle name- May, after his mother- but nothing came to him in way of a first name.

"Eliza?"

Kyle rolled the name over his tongue before shaking his head.

"Elizabeth?"

Again, it didn't seem quite right.

"Ella?"

For a moment, Kyle thought he'd suddenly gone deaf. It wasn't until Bianca started to laugh that he even considered that he hadn't. He looked down at his daughter and thought he might cry with happiness that she'd finally stopped crying.

"You like that, Princess?" he chuckled, a decision made before the words had even finished coming out of his mouth.

"Looks like that's settled then," Bianca cooed as she got up and pressed a kiss to the baby's soft, warm cheek "Goodnight Kyle, goodnight Ella."

"Goodnight Bianca," Kyle replied, pretending that there weren't tears sliding down his cheeks- his baby had a name! If Bianca noticed, she didn't say anything, and he was grateful for that. "And thanks."
Bianca shot him a wink and let herself out, ready to head back to her bed.

When they were alone, Kyle let out a sigh of relief when he saw that his daughter was asleep. He decided he was going to make another bottle before taking her to bed, so he gently placed her in the Moses basket, careful not to jostle her awake, and refilled the kettle. While he waited for it to boil, he slumped down on the sofa, and was asleep before it was even done.

The next morning, Kyle woke up late. He knew it wasn't early from the stream of sunlight flooding through the window, damn near blinding him.

"Sleeping Beauty finally awakens!" Brax boomed playfully as Kyle sat up and stretched out sore, cramped limbs. He nodded in thanks as Heath pressed a mug of coffee into his hand, and he looked around to see his daughter snoozing on her Uncle Casey's chest. When he glanced over to the kitchen, he saw that Bianca was bouncing excitedly in her seat.

"Are you going to tell them?" She asked eagerly, eliciting an eye roll from her husband.

"Babe, you just watched him wake up," he argued amusedly "give him chance."

"Tell us what?" Casey questioned, his brow creased with confusion.

"I decided on a name last night," he told them, trying to hide the ghost of a smirk "or rather, she decided her name."

"How does a baby choose their own name?" Ricky asked sceptically, and Kyle had them all chuckling as he relayed the story.

"She's too smart to be a Braxton," Brax joked "Are you sure she's yours?"

"Well, come on, tell us then, you goose," Heath demanded, feigning impatience "Or are we going to be calling her 'Princess' for the rest of her life?"

"Ella," Kyle told them with a wide beam "Ella May."

The boys were silent for a moment while they considered the name.

"I think it suits her," Ricky commented with a grin on her face, and there was a hum of agreement from Brax and Heath. Casey craned his neck slightly to look at his niece's face, letting a smile creep onto his cheeks as he said:

"Welcome to the world, Ella May Braxton."

A/N: Ok, so, first of all, I want to say that I am not a particular fan of Phoebe. The only thing I like about her is the fact that she makes Kyle happy, but that is about it. I do, however, agree with the reviewer, that she is feisty and free-spirited-sometimes I like that, sometimes I think it can make her appear somewhat selfish. I don't agree that Phoebe wouldn't give up her baby though; she states several times that she doesn't like children, and I think that she is too determined to make her music career work to keep a child, but I also can't imagine her having an abortion either (and, well, it's a work of fiction, I took a few artistic liberties :D).

I'm not saying that Phoebe is gone indefinitely, but I don't have any particular plans for her to come back anytime soon. If anyone has any thoughts/ideas about that, feel free to let me know! :D
