Marcus and Katie lay together on their bed, cuddling and whispering sweet nothings to each other.

„I can't believe I told you I love you after four days." Katie giggled, hiding her face against Marcus chest.

„I can't believe I told you I love you after knowing it four years." Marcus shot back.

The blonde lifted her head to kiss him. „You, Mr. Flint, are such a romantic." she smirked at him.

„Don't worry, I wont tell anyone."

Marcus just looked at her funnily. "What?" Katie asked, her smirk fallen.

"I just found out I can't wait to call you Mrs. Flint." he answered solemnly.

"Oh stop it. I can't believe how greedy you are. I think I'll have to talk to your mother about it. Instead of being grateful I agreed to this little plan of yours, return your feelings AND have unbelievably great sex with you, here you go and want even more as soon as possible." Katie slapped him. Not as hard as she could, he knows what she's capable of, put hard enough to hurt a little.

Marcus held his hands up in surrender. "Ok ,ok. I'm sorry. Please don't be mad at me princess."

Katie squinted her eyes together and kept her lips pursed but kept quiet, though she was back to lying her head on his chest, her arm around his waist.

"Marcus? Why... Why didn't you just ask me out?" she asked after a while.

Marcus clutched her close with one arm, using his free hand to run through her long blond tresses.

"I was sure you'd reject me. Mock me for being fool enough to think I'd have a chance with a woman like you. I never thought I'd stand a chance. I just knew I had to save you somehow. Didn't really think about the consequences." was his low reply.

Katie could feel his voice rumbling through his chest. She could also hear the vulnerability in his voice.

She turned around slowly, now lying halfway across his chest, tracing his jaw with her fingers.

"I would've said yes. I've been half in love with you since I first saw you playing Quidditch, Marcus. I would'nt have rejected you."

"Well, you did a damn good job hiding it. I couldn't have known... " He led out a deep sigh. "Fuck, Katie can we just skip this part? We both liked each other, we both had our reasons to hide it. Love makes one do crazy things and I'm absolutely nutters about you. We're together now. If you want out of this it's too late, because I don't plan on ever letting you go." Marcus had untangled his hand from her hair but otherwise made no move to let go of her.

Katie leaned up to kiss him. "I don't want you to let me go. You told me you love me, you're not going to get rid of me now. Plus, I have this fancy ring telling the world I'm going to be yours." She arches a brow and licks her lips in a flirty way before kissing her way down his chest.

"Now I'd love to get to the 'Fuck Katie' part, but my fiance promised me lunch." she shot him a wicked smile and stood up abruptly, starting to get dressed.

"You're such a tease." Marcus mumbled under his breath, before getting up and looking for his clothes as well.

After apparating them to Diagon Alley, Marcus mood was gradually increasing with how happy Katie seemed. She held onto his hand all the way to the Restaurant, chatting away about how she and Cassandra Nott became friends against all odds, during shared detention, and how excited she was about the wedding.

By the time they were ordering their lunch he was even sporting his Katie-reserved smile again.

"The Wedding will be a pretty big event, right? I think that's kinda intimidating. Is our wedding going to be like that too?" Katie asked him after the waiter took his leave.

"Yes, Terence is a business millionair, after all. And marrying your friend will only gain him more money and more influence. Our wedding will be exactly like you want it. It'll be your only wedding after all, I want it to be perfect for you." Marcus remarked.

Katie smiled at him brightly. He always has my best interest in mind. "You know you're my hero, Marcus, but you are a Quidditch star, and I think there are expectations of your wedding.

Plus, with both our mothers in the picture I think there are a few things neither of us will have any say in." Marcus laughed out loud at this.

"You're probably right princess. But I'd try anyways." he reassured her.

"I've always liked when you called me princess. Back in Hogwarts, remember? You voiced it like an insult, but I've always liked the sound of it." A light blush marred Katies cheeks whilst confessing this.

Marcus eyes darkened, his hand reaching across the table to gently grab hold on one of hers.

"I always meant it as a term of endearment, not an insult." he assured, his thumb stroking softly over the back of her much smaller hand.

Katie leaned over the table to press a chaste kiss to his lips.

"I am afraid 'Quidditch-cheating-trollblooded-Slytherin-prick' was not meant as a term of endearment. Rather one of my favorite insults for you. But you know, I just wanted to get your attention." Katie shrugged apologetically, trying her best to keep a straight face.

Marcus smirked at her knowingly. "Uh huh. That's why you were always shouting at me in the hallways. I knew it. The rest of the team never got you all riled up like I could." he wiggled his brows at her.

Katie giggled. "You were the only one worthy of my attention. Bletchley tried a few times though."

Marcus head snapped up abruptly. "What did he try?"

Katie waved her hands around animatedly "You know, the usual. Insult me, shove me off my broom, trying to cop a feel or dropping hints as to what exactly he thought belonged between my legs instead of my broom."

To Katie it wasn't a big deal even back then, but Marcus seemed furious.

" He touched you?! I'm going to snap his neck next time I see him. There's nothing that belongs between your tights except your broom and me." he growled rather possessive.

"It's been years ago, Marcus. He's not worth the trouble. Now, lower your voice before we cause a scene. It's not like anything happened. I never had the hots for braindead." Katie wrinkled her nose.

"He'll be at the wedding, I'll settle this." Marcus announced, as if Katie hadn't said anything at all.

The blonde huffed in annoyance. "Fine, be that way, make a fool of yourself."

Marcus seemed deep in thought and, as their food arrived, Katie decided she would enjoy her lunch now and argue later.

After they finished their lunch in silence, Marcus paid and tried to help Katie back in her cloak, only to have her stomp on his foot and turn around sulkily.

"Baby.." he mumbled, not even letting out a wince. Katie continued to ignore him and made her way out of the restaurant, trying to also ignore the people starring at them.

She made about ten steps before a huge hand grabbed her shoulder and turned her around.

Immediately she found herself pressed to her fiance's chest.

"I'm sorry princess. I shouldn't be mad about that. I won't say anything about it again and I'll leave the sodding prick alone. It's just... I meant everything I said, ok? I am absolutely crazy about you and I might tend to get a bit possessive... I'm sorry." Marcus rumbled, his voice sending shivers through Katie.

She let out an audible sigh. "It's ok. I don't even mind you being possessive. Maybe I'd have even wanted you to be a little jealous back then. Just... It's in the past. You have nothing to worry about. I'm yours now. None of your friends will harass me like back in school, they're all afraid of you anyways."

Marcus had started to rub his hand in slow circles over her back.

"They better are." he chuckled. "So we're good?"

Katie tucked him down with a hand on his neck to kiss him.

"Of course we're good my favorite Quidditch-cheating..." Marcus cut her off with a playful growl and pressed his lips to hers once more.

"Good. You'll be ok at home? I promise I'll be home for dinner. As much as I'd like to spend my every waking moment with you, I can't skip training, seeing as I'm already skipping tomorrow." Marcus said, one corner of his mouth up in a half smile which made Katie swoon.

"Of course I'll be ok at home, silly. Maybe I'll talk to Alicia about the work situation. You know, finding out what exactly she's been doing all day since she married." Katie waved her hand and scrunched her nose up sceptically.

Marcus chuckled lowly before tucking his arms back to himself slowly, raising one of her hands with his and pressing a kiss to her knuckles.

"Well, princess. I'll see you for dinner then." he smirked, walking backwards.

"Bye." Katie answered, smiling at his retreating form before turning around.

She wasn't really paying attention to her surroundings and was utterly surprised when someone pulled her to the side. Her head snapped around to find the faces of Angelina Johnson and Oliver Wood.

Pulling herself free from Oliver's grip on her upper arm she regarded them with a cold look.

"Might I get informed of your reasons for manhandling me?" she asked her former friends snippy.

"Gods be good, he's brainwashed her!" Angelina pointed her finger accusingly at Katie, looking to Oliver for support.

The later ignored his friends outburst.

"Hello Katie." he said calmly.

Katie just raised a brow expectantly, keeping her head held high and her face disdainfully indifferent. "Well?"

"We were taking a stroll and happened to see you and your betrothed's disgusting PDA." Angelina throws in, her revulsion obvious on her features.

Katie was determined not to show any weakness again. She was not a little girl anymore.

"You could've looked away." she remarked, schooling her features in a challenging smirk.

Angelina gaped at her friend in shock.

"What did Flint do to you?" Oliver demanded, taking a step closer to Katie and gripping her arm tightly. Katie hold back a wince. This would likely bruise but she promised herself to push any weakness in the back of her mind.

"I highly doubt you want to know that. Wouldn't do for you to have even more reasons to be jealous of Marcus." Katie answered, smirking in a way that stated exactly what it was she was thinking of.

Angelina let out a horrified gasp whilst Olvier's face turned an alarming shade of red.

"Now, it would be better for all of us if you'd take your hands off me. This is a fairly public place. Someone might get a wrong impression." she stated coldly.

Oliver pulled his hand back as if he'd been burned. "Katie... If you're doing this to punish me..." he started.

Katie's lips curled in a cruel smile. "Always about you, huh? Sorry to disappoint, you have not meant anything to me in years. Me living my life has absolutely nothing to do with you."

"Why are you like this? What happened to sweet, kind Katie?" came Angelina's unusually quit voice.

The blonde witch frowned at her former friend.

"I am like this because you are strangers who attacked me. I am no little girl, I know how to protect myself." she declared.

"Strangers? We're your friends Katie!" Oliver shrieked outraged.

Katie let out a very unladylike snort. "I've not heard from either of you in months and you are clearly opposed to the way my life is developing. Better you keep staying away then."

Katie raised her chin and turned back to the way she was headed before this. Her former friends clearly to baffled to follow her stood planted were she had left them while Katie made her way home.
