Prompt- Jealous Regina. From LoveOutlawQueen on Twitter.

If the circumstances had been any different, Regina may have congratulated herself on her restraint and growth. Not so long ago a situation like this would have had her reacting in an instant and likely left many casualties in her wake. However, that all paled in comparison to the burning, intense rage she was currently feeling.

She took a deep breath as she tried to control her raging emotions, this was new to her and she was still learning. She had spent years just letting her emotions guide her reactions, no matter what the consequences were or who she hurt in the process. She was getting better, even she could tell how far she has come but she still struggled when a particularly strong emotion was triggered and that was what was happening right now.

Her teeth were clenched so hard her jaw ached and her eyes narrowed almost into slits as she observed the scene across from her from the booth she sat in at Granny's Diner. She was oblivious to the conversation going on around her from Emma, Snow, Charming and Hook, who also sat in the booth with her. All she could focus on was the sight of Robin a few feet from her, or more pacifically the blonde slut of a waitress currently fluttering her eyelashes at him.

It was four months since he had returned to her after a painful six-month separation, after their heartbreaking goodbye at the town line. She had fought tooth and nail to get him back, it had been hard, the fight with the Queens of Darkness had been her hardest one yet, partly because they were strong but mostly because Maleficent had once been a friend and she was now the enemy. She had something she hadn't had before though unlike her other battles: help from loyal friends. That along with Rumple's rehabilitation back onto the side of the heroes had meant they had defeated their latest foes and managed to drop the spell on the town line.

Her anger subsided slightly as she recalled the moment Robin had stepped back over the town line and the feeling of his arms around her as she launched herself into them, sobbing into his chest as he repeated over and over again that he would never leave her again. They had gone through so much and their time together since he had been back had been nothing short of bliss.

So why was she letting this bother her?

She didn't have an answer. She just knew that the sight of the blond tramp twirling her hair round her finger as Robin gave her a friendly smile made her want to burn said hair off, but even worse was the feeling of unease and panic in her chest.

She was drawn out of her thoughts by a hand on her arm and she looked up to see Snow looking at her with concern. Snow followed Regina's gaze and gave her a small smile of understanding, her voice was gentle as she spoke.

"I know what you are thinking Regina and believe me when I say you have nothing to worry about."

Regina forced her expression into one of indifference as she dragged her gaze away from Robin to focus on Snow.

"I have no idea what you're talking about." She answered coldly.

Snow smiled gently and lowered her voice so not to catch the attention of the others at their table.

"So you're not currently considering burning Lucy from the inside out? Because your expression tells me something different."

"Who?" Regina snapped at Snow who just chuckled lightly before answering, her voice teasing.

"Lucy. That would be the waitress currently trying and failing to flirt with Robin."

Regina glanced back over to Robin and clenched her hands together until her nails dug into her palms. It took all her strength to not march over to where they stood, especially when the waitress giggled and placed her hand on his forearm, she wanted to rip that hand off.

Snow gently placed a hand on top of hers and squeezed before speaking softly.

"I get it Regina, believe me I do. The pair of you have had your share of ups and downs since you got together and I understand that would make you feel uneasy about what could possibly come next but trust me if there was ever a man in this world that wouldn't play away from home it's Robin. He adores you, you only have to see the way he looks at you to know that. Like you're his sun and moon wrapped into one."

Regina logically knew Snow was right. Robin never made her feel anything but loved and she trusted him completely, and that was a huge thing for her because she did not trust easily but she trusted him, strangely enough since the moment they had met. After all, she had entrusted her heart to him after knowing him for only a short time. Yet she couldn't help the feeling of panic at the sight of him with this other women, smiling with friendliness and letting her touch his arm.

"What are you babbling about Snow?" Regina snapped.

Snow squeezed her hand again before answering her plainly.

"You're jealous Regina."

Regina abruptly pulled her hand away from Snow's grasp and glared in her direction, her voice was cold as she stated.

"I am not jealous."

Snow was about to answer her but was interrupted by Robin coming over to the table. She didn't see him approach so she jumped slightly when she felt him gently squeeze her shoulder. She gazed up at his face smiling down on her as she tried to hide her feelings from him, she was too late and the smile turned to a frown at what he saw. She couldn't shake her irritation with him as the image of the waitress's hand on his arm burned into her mind and she had the sudden need to get out of there, she felt like she was suffocating. She shook his hand off her shoulder and slid out of the booth, stepping around him and avoiding eye contact as he reached for her. She tried to make her voice sound indifferent as she spoke but it came out as small and hurt.

"I'm going home, feel free to stay."

Robin's frown deepened and his voice was full of confusion as he began to speak.

"Reg –"

She didn't give him chance to finish as she waved her hands over herself and vanished in a puff of purple smoke.

...

She knew it wouldn't take long and it didn't. She had been home for ten minutes before she heard him let himself in, damn her for giving him a key, not that the absence of one would have stopped him. She had just had time to kick off her heels and pour herself a glass of wine when he came into view, leaning against the kitchen door with his arms folded. She glanced up at him briefly before dropping her eyes again to the kitchen counter, his eyes were a mix of confusion and hurt as he regarded her. His voice was calm as he spoke to her for the first time.

"I'm afraid you are going to have to help me out here Regina because I can see you're mad at me but I can't for the life of me figure out why."

She didn't look at him as she lifted her glass to her lips and sipped at her wine, hoping the alcohol would calm her. She took a deep breath before answering him coldly.

"I'm not mad."

Robin sighed deeply and moved further into the room before speaking.

"Really? Because you ran out of Granny's quite abruptly and right now you are barely talking to me or even looking at me. Now I'm assuming that whatever I have done took place while we were at Granny's, because you certainly didn't appear cross before then, quite the opposite in fact."

Regina's irritation gave way to another feeling and she felt a blush to her cheeks and a fluttering in her chest as she recalled them in her bedroom earlier. An image flashed in her mind of her backed up against the wall, his hand reaching under her dress and his other in her hair so her could tilt her head back, giving him access to suck on the curve of her neck as she weakly told him they were going to be late.

She only allowed herself to dwell on the image for a moment, remembering she was mad at him she scowled in his direction before snapping.

"I said I'm not mad."

Robin took a deep breath before lifting his hands and pressing the heels to his eyes before looking at her seriously.

"Regina, I can't fix anything unless you tell me what's wrong. You are driving me insane."

Anger rushed through her veins and she slammed her glass down on the counter, she glared at him and her voice was a harsh snap directed at him.

"Well if I irritate you so much then you could always leave. I'm sure there's a certain blond waitress that would happily gave you a bed for the night."

Confusion and hurt clouded Robin's eyes before he seemed to process what she said and realisation settled onto his face before giving away a look of disbelief.

"So that's what all of this is about? You're mad because I was talking to that waitress at Granny's?"

She didn't answer him, just looked down at the counter and she knew he had his answer. What she wasn't expecting was to hear the bitter chuckle from him and her eyes shot to his as fury overtook her.

"You think this is funny?!" She barked at him.

He slowly began to approach her and she tried to back up but she had nowhere to go and he carried on with his approach until he was inches from her, trapping her against the counter with his body with one hand braced on the counter behind her. His voice was calm but she could tell he was struggling to hold back his irritation as he spoke.

"Oh trust me my love, I find this situation to be many things. Funny is not one of them."

She raised her eyes to look into his and she was surprised by what she saw shining back at her.

Hurt, and anger.

Regina almost let out a sob as she fought to hold back her tears. He was never angry with her, irritated yes, after all she was a complex person to live with. But he was always unbelievably patient with her and she couldn't take the look in his eyes right now, she didn't understand why he had the right to be mad. He leaned in closer until he was only a breath away from her ear and she involuntary trembled as his lips brushed her ear as he spoke.

"You think I would stray from you? You think you're not enough for me? Tell me Regina last night when I touched you, did I come across as uninterested to you?"

She took a deep breath to try and steady her raging emotions as he continued to whisper lowly in her ear.

"And when I kissed every inch of you, did it seem like I would rather be with someone else?"

She was overcome with the images of the night before and she let out a gasp as he brushed his lips against her pulse point before continuing to speak.

"And when I was inside you, gasping your name and telling you how good you felt did it seem like I no longer wanted you?"

A low moan escaped her mouth as he settled his hand on her hip before trailing it upwards, brushing the side of her breast as he went.

"Has it escaped your notice that I can barely keep my hands off of you?"

She bit her lip to stop another moan and closed her eyes against the many images that flashed through her mind. Since he had been back they had both been insatiable, it was as if they were trying to make up for the time they had missed. Even when in public they had to touch each other. They held hands, stroked each other's backs, placed their arms around each other until they could be alone again and they would come together in a rush of frenzied passion they couldn't seem to ever calm down. She allowed herself to daydream for a few moments longer before she placed both hands on his chest, pushing him away firmly. Her voice was shaky but she managed to still sound strong as she snapped at him.

"Stop, Robin. I'm serious."

His eyes softened slightly as he looked at her and his voice was gentler as he told her.

"Oh I know you are Sweetheart. That's what I find most troubling."

She looked at him and saw that the anger was mostly gone from his eyes and the dominant emotion shining in them now was hurt. It also rang out in his voice as he spoke again.

"Regina, being separated from you was the hardest thing I've ever had to endure in my life and I fought tooth and nail to get you back. There were times that I thought I would never see you again but I kept on fighting because that thought was enough to drive me to the brink of insanity. So giving up was not an option."

Regina felt the tear slide down her cheek and she choked back a sob as she recalled how she had felt the same, she had felt the same emptiness and loneliness from being separated from her soulmate but also strong determination to never give up on him. She took a deep breath as he continued.

"When I finally got back to you I swore to myself that I would never go through that again. If anyone wanted to take me away from you again it would be over my dead body. And you think that all that becomes void because some blond flutters her eyelashes at me? Believe me when I say this Regina she could flutter them until her eyes fall out of her head, hell she could dance around naked in front of me and it would make no difference to me because I'm not interested in any woman that isn't you, not now and not ever."

Another tear slid down her cheek and she took a shaky breath in. She felt relief when he stepped forward and lifted his hand to cup her cheek, wiping the tear away with his thumb. His voice was only gentle now as he spoke.

"She came to talk to me darling. I was just trying to be polite, I never imagined for a moment it would upset you so much."

She knew this to be true, Robin was a warm person, friendly and that drew people in. It wasn't in his nature to dismiss people. To ask him to do that was asking him to be someone he wasn't and she didn't want that, she loved him just the way he was. The weight of her actions weighted heavily on her and the guilt of the way she had treated him made her let out a small sob. He moved closer to her and his hand slid downwards to caress her jaw before lifting her chin so her eyes met his. His eyes regarded her tear filled ones with dismay and his voice sounded sad as he asked her.

"What's this about Regina? Don't you trust me?"

The thought of him thinking that sent a rush of panic through her and she frantically nodded her head while her hand grabbed his wrist, stroking over the inked lion she knew was there. She did that frequently, as if to remind herself that it was there, the ink that marked him as her soulmate. Her voice was frantic as she rushed to reassure him.

"I do, I do trust you, Robin. I trust you more than I have ever trusted anyone in my life, more than I ever thought I was capable of. It's just that..."

She trailed off and tried to drop her eyes but he lifted her chin higher until she was forced to lock them with his again. His voice pleaded with her.

"Regina, please my love, talk to me."

She wanted to dismiss the whole thing, insist to him that everything was fine and go back to being blissfully happy but she knew he wouldn't let it go and it would have been pointless, he would know she was lying, he always did. She took a deep breath before speaking, her voice tired.

"I've just got you back and I'm so happy but at the same time I feel like I'm just waiting for the next thing to take you from me. I feel like everything and everyone is a potential threat to us, Robin. I'm so happy with you and I can't help but feel like fate is going to step in and go `Regina's happy, can't have that' and you will be gone again and I don't think I can handle losing you again, it would kill me."

Understanding shone in his eyes as he listened to her confessions of her fears and he cupped her cheeks in both hands, soothingly running his thumbs over her cheekbones. His voice was reassuring and it calmed her as it always did.

"Regina I want to so badly tell you that nothing will ever happen to us again, that the worst is over and it will be nothing but plane sailing from now on for us. But I can't do that, because you know as well as I do that life is tough and its unpredictable. What I can promise you however is that it will never be my choice to be separated from you and that I will fight with my last breath for that to never happen."

She saw the conviction in his eyes and knew he spoke the truth. He would fight for them always as she would. She suddenly felt so stupid for her reactions earlier and so incredibly guilty for making him believe for a second she doubted his loyalty to her.

"I'm sorry." She whispered, her voice thick with tears. He pulled her into his arms and she went willingly, resting her head on his chest, as her arms wrapped around his waist. He tangled one hand into her hair and his other coasted soothingly up and down her back as he pressed a kiss to the top of her head.

"It's ok sweetheart, I understand why you are anxious. We haven't had the easiest of starts, but in the future please talk to me, don't run, don't ever run from me."

She nodded into his chest and pulled back to gaze adoringly into his eyes, warmth flooded her when she saw him return the look just as strong.

"I love you." She whispered.

"I love you too." He returned without hesitation.

She held his gaze and bit her lip, he knew instantly what she wanted, knew that she was unsure whether or not he had forgiven her enough to grant it. He gave her a bright smile before leaning towards her and catching her lips with his in a hungry kiss. She moaned on impact and that allowed him entry into her mouth to tangle his tongue with hers as she reached up to grip his hair. His hands trailed down her sides to her hips and he gripped them to pull her closer to him, their chests pressed together. Her free hand gripped his bicep and she felt a thrill go through her at the ripple of muscle under his skin. She nipped at his bottom lip and he groaned into her mouth before gripping her hips harder and lifting her up to place her gently upon the kitchen counter without parting their lips. She whimpered at the action and wrapped her legs around his hips to pull him closer to her, as far as she was concerned he was never close enough. He tangled his hand in her hair and tilted her head back allowing him access to trail his mouth from her lips, down her chin and down her neck in open mouthed kisses, making her gasp as she felt the scrape of his teeth. The action made her grip his hair tightly and he grunted against her neck in reply before lifting his head to crush their lips back together in a heated kiss. They kissed frantically for several more moments before the need for oxygen became too strong and they broke apart panting, foreheads pressed together. She gripped his shoulders possessively and her voice was almost a growl as she spoke.

"Mine."

For a moment she thought she has crossed a line as she saw his eyes widen in surprise but then all she saw in them was lust as he gripped her hips to pull her closer the the edge of the counter making her lock her ankles at the small of his back.

"Always." He whispered back.
