Sister of the Crimson Dragon: Yo, readers! This chapter is more of a filler, featuring Rin and Phobos' relationship and the prophecy, thus this chapter is called "Discoveries". This is pretty random and has close to nothing to do with the real plot. I ran out of ideas, so please PM/e-mail me or leave a review!
Yes, it's been awhile. I just haven't been on much. Sadly, the original files of the previous chappies were deleted by the site, sooo... yeah. -.-' This story also needs a revision. ^^
Enjoy!
Review reply:
Sakamae: I know, and I feel bad because, also, I think this chapter sucks.
Sadie: Suzume (once was Aki ^^') does not own W.I.T.C.H nor the songs mentioned.
SPECIAL MENTIONSSS!
Sister of the Crimson Dragon: *giggles and bounces*
Will: Is she okay?
Athena: Yes. She's just really thankful and grateful... And before anyone says they're similar words, I'm reading from the Authoress' script; I'm only a devoted following muse. Dark-Automaton made the K.A.R.M.A girls' outfits on DeviantArt. It's now the cover of this story, but cropped. Phobos' P.O.V:
[a week later]
I was pacing my room, angry. My black rose have grown some thorns. Her birthday, hmm? When is it? Her friends said something about 'Christmas', whatever that it. That's what I've been trying to figure out all week! Finally, my curiosity took over my pride and I decided to get some... advice.
"Cedric!" I called.
"Yes, milord?" my servant replied, in his human form.
"What's this 'Christmas' celebration?" I asked, genuinely curious. If anyone, who's my ally, originated from Meridian would know, it was him.
"It's a celebration the humans celebrate. I do not, though."
"Hmm, go check on Rin and keep an eye on her. It doesn't matter if you're spotted by her alone; not her Guardian friends."
"Yes, sire." and he left. Now all I had to do was wait.
Cedric's P.O.V:
I left my master's room and Meridian and arrived to Earth in modern clothes. With a hood covering my face, I went on the pursuit of finding Rin. I don't know what made her so special, but I'm doing this on my master's behalf.
My thoughts were interrupted when I bumped into someone.
"I apolo- Orube?!" I gasped, looking at the short, raven-haired girl in front of me.
"C-Cedric! I-I, uh, I-" Orube blushed, her hands covering her mouth. "It's... it's been awhile!"
I gave a small smile. "Yes, it has, hasn't it?"
"Um, I... I gotta go, now... Sorry."
"Yes, so do I. Well," I sighed. "Good day!" and I left her.
"Bye." I heard her say softly.
I wish I could be with her, but I must obey my master.
I kept walking until I passed a school. 'Sheffield Institute', the sign read. That was the school Elyon used to go to. From the gymnasium, I heard singing-male and female voices mixed together.
'Long ago in the ancient past
I remember a life when we first met
In a dark shadow world
Under a big full moon
There and then I could tell
You'd try to break my will
But now watch as I rise
To a whole new height
And my mad battle cry
Will be heard all night
You keep on playing
Those dark shadow games and
No I won't be beat again
You keep on playing
Those dark shadow games and
Oh this time I'll claim my fame
So now you know after time has passed
You can never be sure you're always the best
Cuz I'm back from the shadows
Coming after you
On the brightest day
Of your darkest hour
So now watch as I rise
To a whole new height
And our mad battle cry
Will be heard all night
You keep on playing
Those dark shadow games and
No I won't be beat again
You keep on playing
Those dark shadow games and
Oh this time I'll claim my fame
You destroyed the future with your past
Forgot the lesson of the test
You never understood the blessed
Too bad today will be your last
So now watch as I rise
To a whole new height
And our mad battle cry
Will be heard all night
You keep on playing
Those dark shadow games and
No I won't be beat again
You keep on playing
Those dark shadow games and
Oh this time I'll claim my fame'
My eyes were closed. I was drunk by the beautiful voice that sang the beautiful song. When I re-opened my eyes, I saw Rin standing there, a black electronic guitar in her hand. A group of people stood close to her, instruments in their hands; a female and two males.
"Awesome, Rinny!" the second female said, playing with her drumsticks, grinning.
"Yeah," the black-haired male agreed. He could easily fit in with Rin's family. The whole Goth theme; it suited both him and Rin. "Now which song?"
"Well, I'd like a break from singing, so how 'bout the Simple Plan Song?" Rin offered. I had no clue who this Simple Plan was. Elyon was not very much exposed to the music industries.
"Great idea!" the eccentric blonde girl said.
Soon, they were playing some other song, the males singing instead, with the females as back-up on vocals. I decided to show myself to Rin after her band practice. And it didn't matter if those humans saw me; they do not know about the I went to go wait on a bench outside when I bumped into someone... again.
"Oh, I'm so sorry-! Cedric?"
I shook my head and looked at the person who bumped into me. My eyes widened. It was Orube, once again. She had bags in her hands. One almost fell until I caught it.
"Yes. I apologize. Do you need help?" I offered.
'If Karma existed, is must really hate me.'
"Um, sure!" she responded. "What're you doing in the gym?"
"I heard some lovely music and decided to go find the source." I replied. "And you? What are you doing here?"
"Oh! Upon my Ms. Rudolph's request, I came to plan the gym for the Christmas gala that will be held here."
"Mm-hmm. And who's this musical group?" I asked.
"They call themselves the Striped Shadows, although I don't remember them having a lead female singer. I only remember three members, not four." she stated.
"Hmm..."
"This song saved my life!" I heard the male sang, finishing the song, I suppose.
"I must go now. See you-" I interrupted her by kissing her forehead, then handing her the last bag.
"Good-bye." and I left from her sight, but still stayed close to the gymnasium's door entrance.
A few minutes later, Rin came out, waving good-bye to her band friends. Once her friends were out of sight I followed her.
"Hello, dear, Rin." I grinned.
She spun around quickly, looking surprised and almost dropped her guitar case.
"Cedric! What're you doing here?" she demanded, putting on her "street" attitude.
"I just came to visit you. Is that a crime?" I replied innocently.
"Phobos sent you, didn't he?" her eyes narrowed, sighing.
"He's worried about you! He truly cares about you!" I tried sounding convincing and persuasive, as I have on my lord's younger sister. But obviously, she didn't buy it.
"Then tell him to buzz of and leave me!" the Keeper snapped, than her eyes soften and whispered, "Tell him to come here himself."
I chuckled. "Naive. He can't. Since him powers were stolen on Kandrakar, he must stay in Meridian, where the source of his "new" powers comes from." 'Only if the Light of Meridian is locked away.' was the real answer.
"Hmph." she huffed and walked away. "Follow me and I'll call the authorities. You may not be an Earthling, but I doubt you'd like to share the fact that you're from a different universe."
"..."
Once she was out of sight, I found a portal that led to Meridian and went back.
"Sire," I called once I was in the castle.
"What, Cedric? Haven't I given you a mission?" he growled.
"Yes, milord, but I already have a report for you. Plus, it does not seem like the Guardian wishes to be watched, especially by me." I smirked. "It seems that she'd rather have you with her, instead."
At this, Prince Phobos' eyes widened a fraction. He seemed slightly stunned. "Ahem," he coughed awkwardly. "Did you explain to her why?"
"Yes, sire."
"Did you mention my dreaded sister?" he asked, ready to pounce if I nodded or did whatever the sort.
"No, milord. I doubt the girl even knows Elyon." I replied.
"Hmm..."
"Maybe we could find some way to get you to Earth, even if temporary. Ms. Rin is part of a musical group and they are preforming at the Christmas gathering at her school."
"Christmas... Yes, that sounds like a good idea." He closed his eyes in thought. "But what of the original Guardians? Or Rin's friends? They can sense me. I doubt Kandrakar would take away the original Guardians' ability to sense a Meridiannite."
"I will find a way to make sure the W.I.T.C.H won't make it, with the help of Miranda. It will be hard, though, to distract Rin's friends." I paused. "I can find something."
"Good. Inform me when you have a plan. you are dismissed." the prince waved his hand absentmindedly.
I bowed and exited the throne room.
'He must really love that woman to be risking losing his powers.' I thought chuckling softly.
Meanwhile...
Rin's P.O.V:
I sighed and plopped onto my bed. I was so confused with my emotions.
I knew Phobos was the enemy, but I felt attracted to him, in a way. Even though he could be faking it, he treated me lovingly. I was drawn into him.
In simple terms, I'd fallen in love with him.
I thought of the warning and the prophecy the Oracle gave to me, and that I forwarded to my friends.
'The five Guardians are in peril,
The old nemesis has returned with more blood to spill,
Five new heroes shall end the gore,
But the new leader must choose between love and war.'
It baffled me. Who should I choose? I don't want to let Earth, my friends, the original Guardians and Kandrakar down, but I didn't want to lose the man I loved, either. Usually, I'd be selfish and be like, "Screw it! I'm choosing my love!", but the world is resting on this decision. This is one of those "teenage crisis" moments I hate.
I heard a soft knock on my door. I sat up and saw my kaa-san, meaning my mom, standing there wearing grey pencil jeans and a white, paint-covered, form-fitting T-shirt.
"Rin-chan? Anata ga aisuru, daijōbudesuka?" [1]
"Hai, okāsan. Watashi wa daijōbuda."[2] I responded with a small smile. "Watashi wa hontōni tsukarete iru. Sorede zenbudesu. Gakkō wa watashi ni ōku no shigoto o ataete iru." [3]
She nodded. "Sate, sonogo. Nanika ga machigatte iru baai shikashi, anata wa itsumo watashi o tsutaeru koto ga dekimasu." [4]
"Hai." I responded. With that, my mother left the room. I sighed.
If you're wondering what all that blabber was, the Authoress has posted the definitions below.
"Well, time to start packing." I muttered. I threw myself off my Fruits Basket anime-covered bed and got my lightning-patterned suitcase from the hall closet and started to pack clothes I needed, wanted and wasn't going to wear on the last few days of the first semester. That left me with plain shirts and old ratty pants. My grey heeled boots stood at the end of my bed on the floor.
I looked at myself in the mirror and decided to add blue highlights... So that's what I did.
During the whole preparation, I thought about him.
Ugh, that jerk. Can't come to see me, yet poisons me with his love.
I call it a poison because I feel as though a bit of me is dying when I realize that I can't be with Phobos without leaving Earth.
After I finished re-dying my hair, I laid back on my bed and turned to look at the window on the east side of my room... only to give a small shriek when I saw a girl's face.
She kept tapping on the glass and slowly, I got my baseball bat and went to open the window. As soon as I did, she jumped into the room and I got in a defensive position.
"Phew! Thanks for letting me in; I thought I was about to let go, just about now!" The strange person had fair skin and short, dark hair.
I stared at her, then my window, then her.
"My room is on the second floor of a tall house." I stated.
"And?"
"There's hardly a ledge."
"And?"
She was strange, and I felt a weird aura coming from her person. It was... magical, and familiar. And like the one of a spider...
"Whaddya want?" I asked.
"Oh! I'm Miranda, by the way. I'm a servant of the Prince of Meridian. I came to see if you were worth getting distracted upon."
"What do you mean?" I asked.
"Well, ever since you first stumbled into the palace, Phobos has been getting distracted, as of late. And I wanted to see if you were appropriate for him." Miranda walked to my open closet and got out a short black leather skirt, a black lacy corset with silver accents and black leather knee-high boots. "Put this on." I blushed.
"W-why? And... Don't you think that outfit is a bit too, um, revealing?" I stammered. She rolled her eyes.
"Stop being so modest. Now try it on." I shook my head, but regretted it. Black legs, like a spider's, appeared from her back, and she walked up to me. "Don't make me force you. Now, c'mon. Put these on!"
Out of fear, I tried to run, but it was pointless. Using her spider legs, she got me into the outfit, and managed to add some makeup to my face; clear lip gloss, black eyeliner and eye-shadow. She then took my Polaroid camera and snapped a picture of me, the picture already developing.
Miranda took the picture and left my room, saying, "I know Phobos would love this. And, Rin? You passed." She grinned and used her extra legs to get down.
I groaned and sank to the floor, tired.
Phobos' P.O.V:
I was minding my own business in the throne room when Miranda came in with an oddly sly smile on her face.
"What do you want, spider?" I wasn't in the mood for jokes.
"Oh, nothing, really. I just wanted to show you a few things that I just know you'll enjoy." I raised an eyebrow, but before I could ask anything, a picture was shoved in my face. At it, I turned red.
"Miranda... What's that?" I asked.
"Isn't it obvious?" the spiderling tried to act innocent. "It's your beloved."
I growled. "Gr, I know that. Where did you get it?"
She shrugged. "I went to Earth." I stood up, about to scold her about visiting Earth without my knowledge. "Yell, hit, do whatever. But I just know you can't deny that this," She shook the picture. "is hot."
I think my blush deepened and I took the picture into my hands. It was my black rose, wearing dark makeup and wore very revealing clothes. A corset and a short black skirt, and black boots. Her long raven hair covered most of her blushing face, and she held her hands together behind her back.
She was beautiful.
"You're drooling a bit, Sire." Miranda grinned. I scowled, regained my posture and ordered her to leave.
Once she left, I sat back down and stared at the picture of the woman I loved, and sighed.
'Soon, my rose. Soon, we can be together for eternity.'
Lyre/Laurel: Hello, I'm Lyre/Laurel. Here you are! R&R and see you later!
The series doesn't mention how old Phobos really is. According to the W.I.T.C.H Wiki, the age difference between Elyon and Phobos is 13 years, and the K.A.R.M.A girls are 16, like W.I.T.C.H and Elyon, so Phobos would be 29 and Rin is 16... (not weird at all, if you watch a LOT of anime...)
Suzume/Sister of the Crimson Dragon: Songs mentioned (that I do not own): Shadow Games and This Song Saved My Life. Also, rating may go up to T. Should it? Also, if Rin becomes or is Mary-Sue, please tell me! I try not to make my OCs Mary-Sue...
And it's exam time! Whoopdee-flippin-doo. -.- I'm so glad I got this chapter out, though.
[1]: Are you okay?
[2]: Yes, mom. I'm alright.
[3]: I'm just really tired. That's all. The school has been giving me a lot of work.
[4]: Okay, then. But if anything is wrong, you can always tell me.
