I was watching Jojo closely and Mikail was within shouting distance. Roman got up to go to the bathroom. Jojo was coming down the slide when I saw Britney step out of the nearby bushes. I stood, drew my gun, and yelled for Mikail. Before I could clear the space to get to Jojo Britney had her around the waist and was running with her. I was hot on her heels as soon as I dropped my gun by my side. I saw Mikail headed around to get in front of Britney. She saw him and stopped dead in her tracks. She turned to look at me and pulled her own gun. She pointed it Jojo's head. Jojo started to cry and flail her arms. I knew that Mikail had been teaching Jojo our private sign language so I suddenly called out to Jojo. Once I got her attention I said "Calm down Jojo. I'll get you out of this." I pointed to my eyes with my pointer and middle fingers. Jojo nodded her head imperceptibly. I made a knocking motion with the same hand and Jojo slammed her little head back into Britney's face, but that didn't seem to affect her. So I slid the same hand sideways telling Jojo to kick Britney right in her lady parts. That had an effect, she dropped Jojo and she ran right to Roman. I made sure she was safe with Roman before I launched at Britney. I had her on the ground pounding her solar plexus with punch after punch. Mikail finally pulled me off as the police showed up. In a matter of minutes they had her cuffed and in the back of the cruiser. It took the police a good hour to get everyone's statements and we were allowed to go home. Once we made it in the door, I feel to my knees and bawled. Roman put Jojo down and they both came over to me. I took Jojo's little face in my hands and kissed her soundly on the forehead and I let out a choked sob as I turned to Roman and pulled him into a tight hug. He pulled me up to my feet and helped me to the couch.

"She's safe Angel! You kept her safe. Your silent communication and faith in Jojo saved her life baby girl!" he whispered in my ear as he rocked me from side to side.

"You could have lost her Romie!" I sobbed into his chest.

"But I didn't. You treated Jojo like an adult and trusted she would react the way you wanted and she's safe."

"Angel I couldn't have done it without you! You had faith I could protect myself and that gave me faith!" Jojo whispered as she put her hand on mine.

"Jojo you are a very strong little girl and more people should give you a chance to prove that." I said as I placed my other hand over hers.

"That's why I love you so much Angel! You make me feel strong and self-assured. You make me feel important!" she whispered as she pressed her little forehead to mine. I pulled her tight against me and rocked until all three of us stopped crying.

"Let's get some dinner and good to bed. You're sleeping with us tonight Jojo!" I ordered softly.

"I totally agree with that!" they both said in unison. After dinner was eaten and everyone showered we got in our pjs and went to bed. I was brought sharply out of my deep sleep by the ringing of my phone. I looked at it and saw James name and the time it was midnight.

"Hello?"

"Angel, you have to pack Jojo up and leave." James blurted.

"What? Why?" I asked as I sat up further in bed.

"She was released 3 hours ago Angel."

"What? How the hell James?" I said as I got up and started packing things up. "Roman get up! Get Jojo ready to leave." I said as I shook Roman awake.

"There was a miscommunication and the Tampa police released her before I had a chance to get her into custody. You have to get out of there! She knows where Roman lives Angel and what's worse she has a decent amount of gun training."

"Fuck! Ok, James we'll get Jojo to a safe house." I spat and ended the call. Roman had gotten up and gotten dressed and was packing up Jojo's stuff.

"Tell me what happened Angel."

"She was released 3 hours ago Roman! We have to get Jojo to safety!" I said as I dialed Mikail's number. "Mikail get Jessie to the Wolf Creek safe house. Tell her to pack for like 3 weeks, lock up and leave. Roman, Jojo, and I will follow." I gushed without saying hello.

"You got it Angel! Tell us what happened once we meet up!" he replied and ended the call. Roman grabbed a still sleeping Jojo and ran out to the truck. I followed after with as many of the bags as I could. He came back and got the rest once he had secured Jojo.

"Roman give me the keys." I said. He tossed them to me and we got in. I started the truck and peeled out of the driveway. I got us out in traffic as fast as I could so we could blend in if she was anywhere following us. We got out on the highway and I sped the entire way to Wolf Creek. The safe house was out on the outskirts in a remote part of Florida, out in the middle of nowhere about 2 hours away from Tampa. Roman and Jojo slept as I drove like a demon down dirt roads to get to Wolf Creek. I pulled up beside the van. I woke Roman and Jojo and we got out of the truck. As we walked up on the porch I heard Mikail put the safety back on his gun.

"Glad you made safely Kira!" Mikail sighed. Just then Jessie came flying out on the porch and grabbed Jojo from Roman's arms.

"Would you mind telling me what the hell is going on?" she shouted.

"As you were told earlier there was an attempt to kidnap Jojo. The criminal who tried that was released 3 hours ago. There was some sort of fuck up on their end and she never made it to federal custody. So here you are. You and Jojo are in a safe house that only 4 people know exist and 2 of which are standing right here." I stated as I ran my fingers through my hair.

"You mean to tell me that that psycho that's been stalking Roman is out there?" Jessie said as her eyes filled with tears.

"That's exactly what I'm saying. But you and Jojo have nothing to worry about you're safe here. I'm sure Mikail made sure he wasn't followed. I know I did. And to be honest this place isn't even on GPS. No one can find you. Like I said only 4 people know this place exists."

"So you're expecting me and Jojo to hang out in the middle of nowhere? With nothing to do?"

"Oh, there is tons of things to do. There's TV, cable, pay per view, an untraceable sat phone, and tons of books. Oh and the internet."

"How can there be all this stuff if no one knows about this place?" Jessie asked skeptically.

"We wired it ourselves and don't worry about how it stays on. Just know it's taken care of." I said and motioned for Mikail to take Jojo and Jessie for the tour. I walked in and checked the fridge to make sure there was food. A while later Mikail, Jessie, and Jojo came into the living room.

"Kail did you show her the panic room?" I questioned.

"Yep and made sure she had the code in her phone."

"Ok Jessie this is how this is going to work. You and Jojo can still go out in public, but you're going to be surrounded by 6 men at all times. Food will be brought to you as needed. You can call whoever you want but only use the untraceable satellite phone and tell no one, I mean no one where you are. If you go to see someone it has to be in a public place so the guys can be there to protect you. And on no uncertain terms are you to be alone with anyone! Ever! Until this is over with." I pronounced. She sat there shaking her head.

"I hope this is over soon!" Jessie sighed.

"Roman it's got to be around 3 am, we have to get back on the road so we can button up your house and head out." I announced as I stood and headed to the door. Roman walked over to Jojo and hugged her tight.

"You be good for mommy and the guys. You do everything they tell you and if anything bad happens you call Jojo." He whispered as he smoothed her hair off her face. He kissed her forehead stood. He reached for my hand and I took it.

"You're right we better head out baby." He sighed as he ran his hand down his face.

"What did you just call her?" Jessie hissed as she stepped toward Roman.

"I called her baby Jessie. That's what most men call their girlfriends." Roman replied as he braced for what he knew was coming. Jessie slapped him hard across the face. I growled and took a step toward her. Roman tugged on my hand to pull me back.

"Jessie, we've been over this! We're done! Have been for a while now! I'm going to be with who I want to be with and you have no say in the matter." He gritted out between clenched teeth.

"Oh you think so huh?"

"I know so Jessie, because if you try to mess with this relationship like you have the others I'm going to go for full custody of Jojo and you'll be out of both our lives for good."

"Oh really? What makes you think you'll get custody?" she sneered.

"The fact that I have more money than you, I have a bigger support system, and I have the best lawyer on the planet." He sneered back.

"Oh? And who's that?"

"Alexander McIntosh." I purred.

"THE Alex McIntosh?" she asked shakily.

"The one and only. You know the one who has a 98% success record."

"You see Jessie not only is my girlfriend keeping you and our daughter safe she's also got friends in high places." Roman purred.

"Fine.. Fine…. Roman, just get out of here." Jessie said as she turned and left. Jojo walked over, took my hand and tugged me down to her level.

"You take care of my daddy Auntie Angel! I couldn't stand it if I lost him." She whispered. I pulled her into a tight embrace and whispered in her ear "I don't know what I would do without him either Jojo!"

She smiled, looked at Mikail and said "Take me to my room and read me a story Kailie!"

"Ok my little dumpling!" he said as he scooped her up and headed for the stairs.
