I was holding my chest and breathing hard.
"Oh God no!" Roman, Dean, Seth, and James all yelled as the nurse ran in. The nurse ran over and took my wrist in her hand.
"Angel, please breath! You're having a panic attack." The nurse demanded.
"I'm-breathe- trying- breathe! I-breathe-can't- breathe."
"Angel you have to concentrate. Go get another nurse and tell her to bring some Buspirone." The nurse ordered over her shoulder. Dean was the first to bolt for the door. A minute later a nurse came in with a syringe and handed it to the other nurse.
"Angel, I'm going to give you a shot of Buspirone. But you have to try and calm down was well." The first nurse said. I took a small breath as she gave me the shot. I took another one. And I felt the tightness in my chest starting to ease. Five minutes later I was breathing better and the heart monitor had stopped blaring. "You're going to get tired now. Just go with it ok?" the nurse said softly. I shook my head as my eyelids got heavy. Dean stepped up to the foot of the bed his face a mask of worry.
"Is she going to be ok?" he asked the nurse in a soft voice.
"Yes, she will. The anger and stress in the room overwhelmed her and it gave her a panic attack."
"That medicine you gave her it's not going to affect the baby is it?"
"No, but it may upset her stomach so let us know if it does. We should be able to give her some Pepto."
"Thank you for getting in here so fast. You guys are the best nurses I've ever dealt with." Dean said as he gave a sheepish smile.
"It's not a problem. Angel has become a favorite of a lot of the nurses." The nurse said as she patted Dean on the shoulder.
"Yeah, she has a way of doing that." Dean said with a lopsided smile.
Two weeks later
"Seth I can get in the truck by myself." I sighed in frustration.
"Okay Angel lips. I just don't want you to pull your stitches." he replied with a worried look and his hand hovering near the small of my back as I climbed into the truck. He shut the door after I got situated and went around to the drivers side and got in. He put the truck in drive and headed home. I was glad the doctor had finally released me into the care of my boys.
"Seth, where is Dean and Roman?" I asked.
"They're at home setting things up for you to come home. You know cleaning the house, getting the fridge stocked, and what not." he replied without looking away from the road. I put my hand on the small bump that was my belly. We pulled into the drive a short time later. I got the shit scared out of me when I opened the door and half the WWE roster jumped out from behind my furniture and yelled Welcome home. I slapped Dean hard on the arm when he came and pulled me into his arms with a smile.
"We didn't mean to scare you baby girl." Roman said from beside me as he put his arms around me too. Seth put his hand on the small of my back as the other two released me from their embrace. Seth pressed his palm against my back in an effort to get me to start walking. I headed toward the couch disappointed when I didn't see Wade among the group. My feet started to drag until I heard that familiar deep throated laugh come from the doorway of the kitchen. I looked up and there was my Wade walking toward me with his arms wide open. I practically ran into his arms. He picked me up and spun me around as I let out a squeal. He set me down on my feet again and set me away from him. His eyes devoured my face.
"I never thought I would see those violet eyes smiling up at me again." Wade choked out softly. I palmed his cheek and pulled him into another hug.
"I've missed you Wade. Where were you? Why didn't you come to the hospital?" I asked rapidly. Wade took me by the hand and led me out of the living room to dining room. He rubbed his neck and looked at me with tears in his eyes. He leaned with his hip against the wall and crossed his arms over his chest.
"I couldn't see you like that Angel. It tore my heart out seeing you covered in your own blood and then hearing you might die. I wanted to have a good image of you in my head if I was going to lose you."
"How could you have a good image of me?"
"The last image I had of you was right before they did surgery. You were lying there with your eyes closed and covered with a sheet. You looked like you were sleeping. I could handle that image, but not the ones that Dean told me about. Seeing them shocking you to get your heart to start again was more then I could have handled. The nightmares I had of you lying there in Dean's arms looking lifeless were bad enough." Wade said through his tears. I walked over and pulled him into a tight hug.
"I understand sweet face." I whispered. We pulled apart and he wiped his eyes.
"Let's head back out there. There are people who are dying to see you." He said as he put his arm around me and led me back out to the living room. I was rushed by tons of people wanting hugs. I hugged people for what seemed like hours and then was able to sit down on the couch. We ate and talked for at least two hours. I was exhausted as I headed toward the stairs after the last person left. I was glad to see my boys following me up the stairs.
"I get to sleep next to Angel." Roman said loudly from behind me.
"Why do you say that?" Seth asked from behind Roman.
"Because you and Dean got to sleep in the hospital bed and I didn't."
"He's got a point Seth." Dean said. We all practically fell into the bedroom. We were a tangle of arms and legs as we all fell into bed after we all got our pjs on. We settled with me lying with my head on Roman's chest and Dean and Seth's arms draped over me and Roman. Seth rolled away long enough to shut the light off and then he rolled back over. I nuzzled my cheek against Romans chest and smiled feeling his heartbeat against my cheek. I sighed in contentment.
"Goodnight boys. I love you!" I said into the darkness.
"Goodnight and we love you too." the three of them said in unison. The four of us drifted off to sleep together for the first time ever and I knew I was where I needed to be.
