After emergency caesarean section, the baby was removed from Wendy. Wendy was in a stable condition and would recover nicely, with very little scarring. But the baby was a little tougher, born with a genital heart defect and a torn abdomen from his mother's drug use, already he hadn't had the best start to life. But any baby born to a Teller man would be strong. Wendy was being removed to the ICU and baby Teller would have to go the NicU and be put into a incubator. Tara left with the nurse, to get the baby all settled in and check that the equipment was attached properly so that they could monitor his progress.

Looking at baby Teller in the incubation was heartbreaking. He was so small and weak. Pressing her hand against his body, she leaned down and whispered so the nurse couldn't hear her "You are going to be okay".

Taking one more glance towards my baby's brother, Tara walked out the door. The nurse was waiting outside looking towards the Jax, Gemma and the crowd that followed. She looked terrified of all the people in cuts. Looking at her "It's okay, I have this", she nodded and she started making her way towards Jax and his family.

Although Tara hadn't seen or spoken to Jax since that night, eight weeks ago. All she wanted to do was rush into his arms and tell him about the baby. But she couldn't do that; she couldn't be selfish and force more responsibility onto him. Tara needed to tell him about his little boy.

Jax reached me before she reached him "What the hell happened?"

''When was the last time you saw her?'' Tara asked, hoping that Jax wasn't aware of her drug abuse and let it slide. ''A couple of weeks. I don't know, she wouldn't speak to me'' he replied looking guilty and like the whole world was on his shoulders. Tara wanted nothing more to reach over and grab him, tell him everything would be okay but it wasn't my place and hadn't been for a long time.

''Her hands and feet were full of track marks. Toxicology hasn't come back yet but is most likely crack"

Gemma moved forward at this stage, to be closer to Jax. She placed a hand on his shoulder, most likely to comfort him and maybe even herself. ''The baby?" Jax asked.

''We had to do an emergency C-section, he is ten weeks premature"

''Holy shit" Jax exclaimed. Tara tried to give him all the information so that they could understand baby Teller chances. She gestured towards the seating area, suggesting that they sit so that she could give them all the information. Jax shook his head "just tell me''.

Nodding Tara said "He has a gastric tear in his abdomen and a genital heart defect, the tear is from the drugs but the heart defect is" not getting a chance to finish before Gemma said ''the family flaw''.

"Yes" taking a pause. "Either would be serious but the two together, is life threatening. The other doctor gives him a 20% survival rate and I am afraid that's being optimistic".

"I didn't know she would talk to me" Jax said looking at me. Hoping that she could provide some comfort, tell him it wasn't his fault "she missed her last 3 appointments, no-one knew''

She suggested taking Jax to see his baby, which he had called Abel. A cute and strong name. ''Tara, you don't have to do this'' Jax suggested, providing her an out. But she had to "I asked for this, this is your son''. Tara wanted to do everything she could to make sure that her baby's brother survived.

''Thanks, go with Tara Ma. I have shit to do'' Jax said leaving Gemma and Tara all alone. ''You must be loving this''

Tara just looked at Gemma, rolling her eyes and walked ahead, ignoring her statement. Her pettiness wasn't important, Abel's survival is.

Opening the door to the NicU, she gestured her inside. Tara walked over to Abel, gently touching him again, hoping that he survives and knows that she loves him already, even though he isn't hers. Gemma looked to be almost in tears, knowing how much her family means to her. Taking one more glance at Abel "I'll give you some alone time with Abel and just go check on some other patients" before walking out of the door.

The next 3 hours of her 12 hour shift flew. Tara didn't have a chance to see Abel again that afternoon as there was a car accident. Both mother and child from the accident made it okay. Baby was delivered, healthy but a little under-developed; mother had a broken leg and some facial injuries.

After making a list of things that she needed to organise or get for the rest of the day. The best thing about finishing a 12 hour shift is that, the rest of the day is free. After arriving home and having a rest, Tara was all ready to get her list completed.

Locating the one paint and furniture store in Charming, she had organised for the house to be repainted on the inside using an off-white colour. Tara's old bedroom will be converted into the nursery, but it was still quite early in the pregnancy so she opted to instead just get it painted a light green with a white boarder. After paying for the deposit for the painters to come, and booking a time when she wouldn't be there. Paint fumes are not healthy while pregnant. Tara was doing everything she could to ensure her baby would be born happy and healthy.

The next item on the list was calling Donna to organise coffee or lunch. Donna was free tomorrow, as the kids were at school and then Piney would have them in the afternoon. They both had to get a few things from Lodi and Tara had a doctor's appointment. She had organised to pick Donna up at midday tomorrow as her shift ended at 7, giving her a chance to have a nap. Luckily Tara had the following day off work.
