Tara enjoyed the ride on the back of Jax's motorbike. It reminded her of the early times of their relationship together, before things got complicated with Gemma, crow-eaters and college applications. There was a freedom that could be felt on the back on a motorbike. Taking in the scenery as they zoomed down the streets, past a construction site and then into the street of her house. But it felt like the ride had ended before it even began, she was already off the bike ''Appreciate the lift''.
Jax looked at her, noticing her worry ''what's the hurry? The worry I am getting here, have anything to do with the car that's been following us?'' he questioned, hoping to finally get answers to some of the the questions that they had been avoiding. Such as the black eye she had the night they slept together, her sudden return home to the place that she swore to never come back and the concern written all over her face.
Tara looked down at the street, noticing the silver car parked a little bit down the road. The person in the car had parked it far enough down that she wouldn't really notice but still close enough so that he could watch her. Deciding that it was best for Jax not to get involved, for Christ sake Jax is Samcro and Joshua is ATF. A recipe for disaster, deciding to just go inside and shut the world out for a little bit longer. ''Tara what the hell is going on?'' he asked, moving closer towards her. He was now in her personal space, all she wanted to go was unlock the door and go inside. He was close enough that she could take in his presence and feel safe. Looking at the ground to calm herself down, she looked up at him ''The ATF agent that's been looking into you guys. He's here for me'' pausing for a second ''I was with him in Chicago and it got violent, I ended it.''. Jax grabbed the keys off her unlocking her door and pushing her gently inside ''Jax don't, he's dangerous'' he looked at her before shutting the door.
Jax had been cornered by the bitch Stahl in the precinct after he had stabbed Kohn with a pair of scissors. He wasn't concerned about getting locked up for it, as he knew the barber had his back. People in this town supported the club as they keep the bad out of Charming. They are the lesser of two evils. Stahl was talking about how Tara must have been scared and returned to the only person who see would protect her. Returned to the only person she knew that loved her enough to take on an ATF agent. Jax didn't want to believe it, but it made sense. She wasn't back for him, having hardly seeked him out unless she saw him at the hospital until now. Now, because Kohn was back, she had gone to him for help. Growing up with Gemma as a mother, he knew how manipulative the women in his life could be. It all made sense; she was running scared and wanted him to fix the problem.
Deciding he had heard enough, he left the precinct walking out of the interview. Pulling into the clubhouse, he walked inside and grabbed a bottle of Jack heading towards his dorm. Bumping into Donna on his way ''did you know?'' he asked. ''She begged me not to tell you until she was ready, she's scared Jax. She may not have wanted to get pregnant but she wants this baby''
''WHAT?... she's pregnant'' Donna's face turned white, thinking that was what Jax was talking about. ''How far along is she?'' he further pushed. ''You need to talk to Tara, Jax'' Donna encouraged.
How could she hide it from me, he thought to himself. Looking at the bottle of Jack in his hand, he decided that this would help. Taking a swig of the bottle, he started walking away towards the dorm hoping he would find clarity in the bottom of the bottle. ''Jax, please, wait'' he heard Donna call ignoring her, he continued on his mission.
Tara was woken up to the sound of a knock at her office door. She originally planned to meet Donna but Donna had to cancel something to do with the kids. As the pregnancy was wearing her out, she had stopped to take a nap knowing that she couldn't sleep at home with the thought of him watching her. Donna had been acting a little weird with Tara since the fair but she got this way when her mother came to visit. Donna's mother absolutely hated the club and by association Tara, she wanted nothing more to pack up and grab Donna and her grandkids, leave turn and never turn around. Tara figured that Donna was just trying to cope and wasn't too concerned, yet.
Hale had stopped by to check on her, Jax had apparently felt it necessary to pay him a visit about Kohn stalking Tara. He was surprised to find that Hale already knew. After letting Hale know that if he didn't fix the Kohn problem, that Jax would deal with it. Hale had made arrangements to get Kohn away from Tara and out of Charming. After assuring her that Kohn was leaving, she leaned into his embrace while he was apologising for not knowing ''you are a good guy David''.
Tara pulled up at her house, as she wasn't concerned because everyone assured her that Kohn had left town earlier that afternoon. She wasn't on alert so didn't notice Jax sitting on her door stoop, until she stepped out of the car. Walking towards him, he continued looking at the ground. Finally looking at her with a heartbroken look on his face, ''did you come back because you knew I would take care of this guy and then you could leave again?''.
''No'' Jax looked down at the concrete again. ''Well you're safe now'' he muttered. He looked back up at her; the look on his face was horrible. He was looking at her as if he had no idea who she is ''were you going to tell me, about the baby?''
Tara was shocked, she had no idea how he found out. He looked like she had broken his heart; her quietness must have said everything he needed to hear, answering his question about whether she would have told him. Taking her quietness as the answer that she wasn't going to tell him. Standing up from the stoop, he looked like he was about to break into tears. She instinctively wrapped her arms around her stomach, protecting herself and the baby from whatever he was about to say.
Glancing at her arms around her stomach ''Is it mine?'' he finally managed to get out. Her face must have answered the question, tears streaming down her face, she nodded. He took one more look at her, and running towards his bike and pulling out of the driveway.
''JAX Please'' she yelled but it was too late. He had already gone. She fell to her knees sobbing.
