Recharge.
It hadn't felt this good for Airachnid in years.
Recharge.
The thing she needed the most.
Recharge.
The one thing she couldn't have in her old 'home'. She always laid in her berth with one optic open, armor on, blaster ready.
But now she felt…relaxed.
She had both her optics closed, her armor discarded, her servos hugging a big steel wool pillow, her soft protoform still adjusting to having a blanket covering it.
Airachnid yawned as her internal alarm went off. She slowly opened her optics, meeting the optics of Sylvania. She closed her optics again, muttering something.
…..Airachnid's optics shot open. Spotting Sylvania again.
Airachnid jumped from her spot on the berth, crashing into the wall on the other side of the berth.
She fiercely pointed at Sylvania. "WHAT ARE Y-"
The door suddenly opened revealing a concerned Tailgate. "I heard a bang, what-"
Tailgate froze as he looked at Airachnid.
She blinked and looked down.
The blanket fell from her chest.
Airachnid screamed.
Tailgate began to scream as he covered his optics with his servo.
Sylvania looked at both of them before screaming herself. Trying to join in.
Downpipe was at the door, watching the unusual scene with his helm tilted.
"CAN'T I GET ANY PRIVACY?!" Roared Airachnid.
Tailgate's scream went up another octave as he saw his nightstand fly at him from between his digits.
He caught the piece of furniture and fell onto his back in the hallway.
The door quickly shut. Downpipe looking at Tailgate with a confused expression.
Tailgate sighed and let his helm lean against the wall before removing his nightstand from on top of him.
He muttered jokingly. "Someday she will be the death of me." He then chuckled before starting to get back up.
The door snapped back open. Tailgate jumped in shock and fell again, landing on his aft.
"I said someday not now!" Tailgate yelled as he covered his optics again.
Sylvania stepped out of the room with her servos behind her back.
"Sorry." She Said to Airachnid, although not facing her.
Airachnid looked however at Tailgate.
"What did you say?" She asked with a ticked off tone of voice, her optics closed in annoyance. Her chest thankfully now covered by the blanket.
"TALKIN TO MYSELF!" Tailgate shot up from the ground and walked over to the door, gently pushing Sylvania to the side.
He cast an apologetic expression to Airachnid before closing her door.
Airachnid just stared at the door before blinking.
…
"Sylvania, why would you go into her room like that?" Asked Tailgate with a stern expression on his faceplates.
Sylvania pouted and looked at her feet. "…..It's still your room." She muttered.
Tailgate sighed as he clenched his optics with his digits.
"Don't act smart with me young femme. That's her room until I say otherwise and that's also her privacy. Do I make myself clear?"
Sylvania shuffled her pedes awkwardly under Tailgates stern gaze. She than nodded affirmatively.
"Good." Smiled Tailgate before looking down at his cluttered nightstand. "I'll leave this out here until Airachnid leaves the room, so I can put it back. I don't want yet ANOTHER 'walk in' situation Because this is just getting ridicules." He muttered as he moved the nightstand parallel to the wall.
"Now I'm going to get ready to go shopping, get ready as well, we'll be leaving soon."
Sylvania's mood instantly skyrocketed. "YAAAAY!" She jumped before giving Downpipe a frame crumpling hug. "Can Downy come?" She asked with hopeful optics.
"It depends on what Airachnid says." Said Tailgate with a smile, before walking to 'her' door.
"I know you can hear me." Spoke Tailgate against the door.
He heard a small thud from behind it. He shrugged it off and continued.
"We're all going to go out shopping. You best get ready."
Sylvania ran quickly to her room. Exited for today.
Tailgate went into the bathroom to clean himself off.
…
Airachnid lay on the floor in her room after Tailgate spoke to her from behind the door. She had previously had her audio receptor up against the door to hear what they were talking about.
She always wanted to hear what people were saying behind her back. Not to be rude, but to save her life. You never know what people might be scheming in order to destroy you. To her, it HAS happened before.
Although she had to admit, the only ones out there were Downpipe, Tailgate and Sylvania.
But she still listened. Until that is…Tailgate's voice spoke right next to her Audio Receptor.
This caused her to jump from surprise and fall down onto her aft. Although she quickly reacted to not make much noise in doing so on her 'dignified' landing.
'He knew I was listening?'
…
Tailgate waited at the door with Sylvania and Downpipe. The latter of which was in a vice hug by the former.
Airachnid stepped out from her room in her usual armor. She stopped when she saw the three of them waiting for her.
Tailgate looked up. "Oh, I see you're ready. Shall we?"
Sylvania quickly spoke before Airachnid responded.
"Can Downy come too?!" She asked with shining red optics.
Airachnid looked at Sylvania with an emotionless stare.
Her optics became amused after a few seconds. "Downy?" She grinned.
"Uh huh." Responded Sylvania with several nods in conformation.
Downpipe only whined, about the name and that Sylvania was hugging him harder now.
"She seems to have found a replacement for her plushy doll." Smiled Tailgate with his arms crossed.
Airachnid looked down at Sylvania with…. a warm smile.
"Sure." She said finally.
Not that Airachnid would have ever said no, Downpipe would have accompanied her regardless.
But watching the sparkling looking at her with…happiness, excitement, no fear, no hatred.
She liked that. She wanted to make her as happy as she could. She wanted that affection.
…For the first time in her life.
…
Lazerhawk: Cool Breeze
It was quite a sight for Airachnid. She looked up at the tall buildings and of course…the sky.
She could never see it where she lived due to being deep within the planet.
This being an 'upper class' district meant that they at least had a view of sorts.
"You okay?" Asked Tailgate, Sylvania's helm propped up on top of Tailgate's as she sat on his shoulders. Her faceplates showing curiosity.
Airachnid blinked and looked over at Tailgate.
She couldn't help but smile at how they looked at that time.
Downpipe barked and propped his front pedes on Airachnid's leg, looking up at her with a waggling tail.
Airachnid bent down slightly to pet his helm. "I'm fine just…getting used to the scenery."
Tailgate chuckled. "Nice isn't it?" He said as he continued to walk down the semi busy walkway. Airachnid following.
"Well…" She started. "…it is different…to what I'm used to." She muttered the last part.
"Heh…yeah I know that for a fact." He said.
Airachnid walked next to Tailgate as she looked around at the different stores and interesting places that surrounded them.
She also noticed the different Cybertronians as well.
Almost all of them she passed glanced at her, some even stared…the majority of them with disdain…disgust…pity even.
She hated the last one most of all. But in unfair 'fairness' she did stick out a lot due to the condition of her armor and her general color scheme. And of course the color of her optics.
She was from a different social class than the beings around her. She knew that and they knew that.
However a lot of people looked at all of them together. With general curiosity.
Some Cybertronians whispered to each other as the small group passed.
It was an odd sight indeed. A handsome white and blue mech with piercing blue optics carrying on his shoulders a dark grey sparkling, a FEMME SEEKER sparkling no less, with piercing red optics…both of them walking next to a tall slender dark purple femme with bright purple optics surrounded by an exited Turbofox.
It…really was an odd sight.
They continued to walk down the busier walkway until they reached a large store.
"We need more energon." Said Tailgate simply before walking in. "We might need other things but it'll come to me when we walk around." He said as he walked up to the automatic doors.
Airachnid behind him, still looking around.
"Can we get some grease brownies?!" Asked Sylvania with excitement.
"Only if you're good." Said Tailgate.
"YAAAY!" Shouted Sylvania.
Tailgate laughed before adding…"That also means controlling your volume Sylvania."
Sylvania quickly covered her mouth with her servos, optics wide.
She nodded in conformation, not wanting to lose her sweets.
Airachnid smiled at the scene. They looked almost like a Creator and sparkling.
Although Tailgate was a bit young to be a Creator.
Tailgate quickly looked back at Airachnid.
In turn she averted her optics and regained her stoic expression. With a small blush.
"You need anything?" Asked Tailgate.
Airachnid was silent. "…."
"Woah woah!" Said Tailgate chuckling. "Slow down I can barely understand you, you talk so much."
Airachnid looked at him with slight irritation. "I don't need anything…" She said simply.
"Yeah…sure." Said Tailgate with a dismissive wave and a grin.
Airachnid just looked at him with confusion. "…Why won't he listen?"
After a half an hour they walked out of the store carrying multiple storage containers.
Sylvania was bouncing with joy on top of Tailgates shoulders. She seemed to have gotten her sweets.
Tailgate carried two storage containers full of energon under each arm.
Airachnid carried two containers under each arm and also four….one in each spider leg.
Tailgate chuckled as they began to walk along the walkway. "Those legs sure come in handy at times…" He joked.
Airachnid didn't respond.
Tailgate stopped and looked around.
Everybody around them was now looking at Airachnid. More specifically her spider legs.
The expressions went from curious all the way down to disgusted.
Nobody had ever seen anything like it before.
She…was an abnormality.
Airachnid just stood there with her helm lowered slightly, optics dim. Just trying to seem as invisible as possible.
"Excuse us." Said Tailgate suddenly as he walked up to her with a small smile.
'Us?' Thought some onlookers. 'This mech was with…HER?'
Now some Femmes and Mechs looked at Airachnid with envy. Some were even painted green you could say.
Airachnid looked up at Tailgate with surprise. He put his servo on her shoulder and gently ushered her to walk next to him.
She continued to look at him with wide optics before she felt something grab the horns on her helm.
She looked up to see Sylvania reach over, trying to do the same thing Tailgate was doing.
She couldn't help but laugh to herself.
Downpipe continued to walk around them, sniffing the ground ahead of them.
Yeah…it really was an odd sight for those around.
…
Back at the Autobot base.
"Awww" Said Miko with her hands clasped together in front of her face, bouncing on her heels slightly. "Sylvania is soooo CUTE!" She squealed slightly.
Ratchet looked down at her before scoffing in slight annoyance and turning back to the monitors.
"How uncanny the resemblance." He muttered.
Optimus had a smile on his faceplates. It had been too long since he last saw friendship at that scale…perhaps not even friendship…perhaps something more.
He glanced over at Jack and Arcee.
"Did you find what you were looking for?" Asked Jack with curiosity as he glanced behind him at Arcee.
"I've been here for a long time Jack, I didn't just come back." Said Arcee with amusement in her optics.
"Oh…" Said Jack. "…I guess I was too engrossed with what was going on…But did you find it?"
"Yeah… I found it." She said simply before Raf called Jack.
As Jack went over to them, Arcee bit her lower lip.
The amusement was gone from her optics. Something else took its place, dimming them slightly.
A sultry smirk took over her expression as she looked up and down Jack's frame from behind, as he chatted with Bumblebee and Raf.
"Yeah…" She whispered. "…I found what I was looking for."
