An new upload, and on a Thursday too. (There's a reason for that, but I'll discuss that at end of the chapter)
The first day back at school bright and every the summons came.
"Kristoff!" Dash Parr ran up, "Mr. Michel is looking for you," He said.
"Oh no," He gulped.
"That's not good," Flynn said. He looked at the girls.
"Just Kristoff?" Anna asked.
"He wants to see the entire hockey team, but especially Kristoff,"
"Now I really wish the guys had voted Sled captain. Did he say why he wants to see me?"
"What do you think?" Dash looked apologetic, "It was going to get back to him one way or another,"
"That's true." He sighed, "I'd better go. Don't want to keep him waiting," He jogged off heading to the office.
"You don't think he's going to be in too much trouble, do you?" Anna asked the others. Flynn shrugged.
"Mr. M can be strict, but he's rarely unfair." Merida said.
"He wouldn't be pleased about this though. You know he's most proud of the school's reputation. And word getting out the other schools in the area about the game, that isn't going to carry over too well," Rapunzel said.
"As the very worst he and the team might get some school service, maybe. I don't know how much they can be punished since it was on our time,"
"If the fight hadn't broken out this wouldn't be happening." Flynn said, "Those Moonies, they just had to start their stupidity,"
"I recall Disney students throwing a couple punches as well," Elsa said.
"We were defending ourselves. Are you saying it's our fault,"
"What? No. That's not what I meant. But we can't blame it all on DreamWorks. We were at fault too. There can be a fight if one side doesn't fight back,"
"If one side doesn't fight back then it isn't a fight, isn't a slaughter. We had to fight."
"No you didn't. We didn't fight. We stopped it."
"Okay, stop." Rapunzel put her hand before Flynn could say something else. "It's over and done now. We can't go back and change anything."
"She's right." Merida said, "All we can do is look forward. And talking about looking forward, Elsa are you ready for Wednesday?"
"Of course I am. Periwinkle and I even had a train session a couple days with Coach Milori. Her routine is really good."
"It is," Anna agreed. She'd gone with Elsa to her train session, "But so is yours. Everyone there said so,"
"It was only us, Coach, and Tink,"
"Yeah, and Tinkerbell admitted that your routine is better than Peri's,"
"She said it might be better,"
"Hey, for a girl to admit someone is better than her own sister, that's saying something. And I should know," Anna poked Elsa playfully, "And that woman who came with the coach, what was her name…ah…Clarisse?"
"Clarion," Elsa corrected.
"Right. She said you looked like a queen on the ice. Exact words,"
"I remember, I was there. And she was just being nice."
"No she wasn't,"
"There's a reason we call you the snow queen," Rapunzel said.
"I thought it was because of my killer snowballs," Elsa smirked.
"You're going to be great. The gold is pretty much a guarantee." Merida said. "And Peri should take the sliver for us,"
"Don't count your chickens before they hatch," Elsa said, "I heard from a source that moonies competitors are looking really good."
"What source was that?" Eugene asked.
"Oh you know, ah…through the grape vine you hear things," Elsa said quickly. "But the point is we should never go in thinking we have the victory in the bag."
"Your right Elsa," Rapunzel said, "But you're still going to do great,"
Elsa laughed, shaking her head.
Over at DreamWork's, ironically almost a conversation of similar nature was taking place.
"Tooth, why are you nervous?" North asked.
"Because of the pressure," She said, "I've been grinding my teeth in my sleep. Do you know what does your molars? DO you?"
"Hey, hey," Jack laughed, placing a hand on her shoulder, "Chill."
"Don't tell me to chill frost, this is your fault."
"My fault? What did I do?"
"Because you and the hockey team didn't win now everyone is expecting Astrid and I to win to make up for it,"
"Hey. We could have won. If the game hadn't been interrupted."
"But it was. And you didn't. So now everyone is looking to me. And I don't like it. The Snow Queen and Frost Fairy. Those are their nicknames. You don't get nicknames like that just because."
"You're called the hummingbird, aren't ya?" Bunny said trying to be encouraging.
"What does a hummingbird have to do with winter? Huh? Nothing. Oh, and let's forget Ellie and Shira from Blue. Why is that school so good at winter sports? Is there some predisposition or something? I'm going to lose when everyone is counting on me."
Sandy took Tooth's hand and made her look at him. He took a deep breath in, and then let it out. He pointed at her and repeated the action. Tooth a deep breath, and then another.
'Alright?' Sandy signed. Tooth nodded.
"A bit…thanks."
'You're Welcome,' He signed with a smile. 'No need to worry. You are a very good skater,'
"Sandy is right. You don't have to worry." North said.
"And even if you do lose we'll still love you. So at least you know the whole school won't hate you." Jack said. Tooth punched him.
"Jack Frost, you shut up."
"So-rry," He coughed out.
"What'd big mouth say this time?" Hiccup took a vacant seat at the table.
"He's being very comforting about my upcoming event." Tooth said.
"I was only joking around." He said smiling.
"Yeah, you're jokes aren't funny sometimes"
"I second that," Hiccup said.
"Shut up Haddock."
"Mmmh…make me,"
Jack huffed. Sandy waved to get Hiccup's attention and signed to him.
"He said…" Jack started.
"Hold on. I've been learning, I think I got this…you're asking me about…do other the last part please," Sandy obliged, "How was my meeting with…J.K? JK, like just kidding?"
"No." Jack explained, "When he has to say a name that he doesn't have a predetermined sign for like with us," Jack indicated to everyone sitting at the table, "Sometimes he shorts it to the initials."
"Oh," Hiccup nodded understand, "So J.K. He's talking about the principle."
"Yeah. And how was it? He isn't mad at the team is he?"
"No so much the team. More the fact we started a brawl in a public place and somehow set off fire alarms."
"How did that happen anyway?" Aster asked.
"Someone from Disney, I heard," Jack said, adding the last part like an afterthought.
"He asked me to run down what happened. He wasn't pleased that Shrek might have been the one to start the fight. And he was most certainly not pleased when he heard the matched ended on a tie."
"Oh I could imagine," Jack laughed.
"Last I heard he asked to see Shrek,"
"Hiccup, how's Astrid doing? Is she ready?"
"Is Astrid ready to go against Disney? She's always ready to face, whether it be as a cheerleader, in a hockey game or figure skating." He said with a laugh, "And the unresolved mess that we are calling a game only has her more revved up."
"So she'd not freaking out."
"Not really…I am kind of worried that her being so worked up is messing up her fluidly, you know. Normally she's really good shifting between the different styles of skating, and not that she isn't skating well, because she is. It's just…I think when she starts getting mad about the game she affects her form. But that's just me."
"Knowing Astrid she'll put that aside on the day," Tooth said.
"Hopefully. God knows this school really needs a win right now. Everyone's on edge."
"Well both of you have trained really hard. Nothing we can do at this point other than to hope for the best," Jack said.
A few days later at the Warner ice rink, the largest in the area dozens of school, and their competitors were there for the event. Since it was school days it wasn't like the entire student bodies could attend. But each school had allowed a contingent of students to attend to show their support. Mainly in each case the friends of the competitors and /or those interested in the events were there to show their support. That's how Elsa and her friends ended up sitting with Tinkerbell's friends in the stands. Currently they watching the boy's events. Performing at the moment Sid from Blue sky.
"He's good. He might even win," Anna said.
"But that guy who performed earlier, Jake Spankenheimer…weird last name, but he was good." Tinkerbell said.
"Hey, don't count my Sleddy out yet," Rosetta called down, happening to overhear their conversation.
"Sleddy?" Tinkerbell and Anna asked together.
"Don't forget DreamWork's guys haven't gone yet." Peri said. She and Elsa were sitting right above their sisters.
"Well figure skating for the guys was never something they were strong in." Tinkerbell said, "Their hockey team is good, but when it comes to grace the hooligans don't exactly excel there."
"Astrid is good though," Peri said, "And I don't why, but I think if Hiccup Haddock didn't have his leg holding him back he'd be good at figure skating too."
"Well, for the guys DreamWork's has Proteus and Miguel," Tinkerbell said looking at the program.
"Peri, Elsa," They looked down to see Milori waving at them, "There calling the female competitors down."
"That's our cue," Peri said standing.
"We'll walk you to the locker room," Anna said, she and Tink standing with them. They passed a few other competitors on their way down. In the hall outside locker rooms they walked by Tooth and Astrid, along with Jack, Hiccup and couple of their friends. Jack looked up for a second, catching Elsa's eye. The barest flicker of a smile appeared on his face, but as quick as it came it was gone and his attention back on Tooth.
"Good luck," Anna said, hugging her sister, "I know you'll do great."
"Thanks Anna,"
"You too Peri," Anna said hugging the other girl.
"Was Jack Frost just looking at you?" Tinkerbell asked, while their sisters were talking. Elsa tried not to gulp. She remembered Jack mentioning he talked to Tink when he'd been trying to find her name.
"I doubt it,"
"It sure looked that way. And it looked like you were looking there."
"Yeah, at Toothiana's leotard. It's very colorful," It was true enough. At the moment she was only wearing her school jacket over the outfit and they could see the array of colors bending across the front and the way the spectrum shifted around the short skirt. Tinkerbell didn't look convinced but she said, "Yeah, it is. Hey, go break a leg." She smiled.
"I'll try," Elsa smiled as well.
The sisters walked off, waving one last goodbye.
"You ready?" Elsa asked.
"To come in second to you, most defiantly," Peri teased. Elsa laughed, leading the way to waiting area.
I hope you enjoyed the chapter, but now I have something I want to ask of you.
Recently I've discovered a new obsession, some of you may know of it. A little series called Carmilla. It's a web series that you can find on YouTube.
Normally I wouldn't mention something like unless it's linked to the story in someway (like how I mentioned Once a couple chapters back). But this web series is extremely amazing. The writing is brilliant, the acting is genius and the fandom is great. The story has mystery, humor, intrigue, and a fair amount of action, (well a fair amount of action for a web series).
I'd like to ask...no...I'm begging you guys to check out this series. Please give it chance.
But I will give you a disclaimer, it's very female orientated and contains several queer characters. But that's only one aspect of it, so please don't let that be a deciding factor to not watch it. It's too good of a series for you not to at least give it chance. Please, please at least watch the first few episodes to decide if you like it or not. At the moment the first season is available on YouTube, and currently the fandom and cast and crew are pushing for a second season.
I can not express how much I love this series. Everyone involved is so talented, and the story had me hooked right away and I really want to help to it get a season two. My twitter and tumblr have been taken over by this series, but I have very few followers there, so I'm asking you all. Please, please, please give it chance. And if you like it, spread the word, tell your friends and family. Also, if you like it leave me a pm or comment, so I can geek out with you about how much I love this series.
I hope you will watch it. Believe me it's not everyday I'm gushing over a show, but this series deserves to continue. I've been telling everyone. I could go on, telling you how much I love the characters, and the story, and fandom and the cast...but I think you get the idea and really you should see it for yourself.
Nardragon~ until the next page.
(Please go watch Carmilla. I'm begging. If I could insert a picture of me literally begging I would. Please)
