And yes, this is it. The Final chapter. I'm sad to see it go. I could write another 100,000 words about them, but every story has to come to an end.
"How did you convince me to go through with this?" Hiccup asked as they walked through the empty halls. It was lunch time, so everyone was either in the cafeteria or outside. No one was anywhere near the art room.
"Man, I'll never be able to thank you enough if this works,"
"If this works you're becoming my slave for life." Hiccup turned to Tooth, "Tell North and Sandy to get ready up there,"
She nodded and texted a quick message.
"Why do they have to be up there anyway? Couldn't you have turned on that part from before?" Bunny asked.
"I had to make that signal booster from old parts. I'm not sure how long it will hold up. I'd give ten minutes, maybe more, and I didn't want to risk it shorting or anything by turning it on to long before."
The arrived at the art room and Bunny let them in. Jack and Hiccup scanned the ceiling and pointed to a vent on the far wall.
"There, the other side should come out in the AV room,"
They move a table under the vent and Hiccup took off his back pack and climbed up. He asked for a chair, which Jack handed up to him. With the extra height he was able to reach the vent easily. He quickly removed it and passed the grate to Bunny.
"Once were in cover the vent again,"
"You sure,"
"Yeah, we can unlock the door from the inside so we'll get out through there,"
"Be careful," Tooth said.
"We will," Hiccup pulled himself into the vent. Jack handed him is back pack and climbed in after him.
"Good luck," Tooth said.
"Thanks and get out of here. We don't need you getting in trouble,"
It was short crawl through the vents and they were out in the AV room. Hiccup pulled a laptop out of his bag and started hooking it up to equipment.
"Tell North and Sandy I'm almost ready," He said as he pulled out his own cell. Jack called North and told him to get ready. Hiccup dialed a number too and put the phone on speaker and set it on the table as he continued to type. A male voice that Jack didn't recognize answered.
"We conferenced you in. You have both of us,"
"Hey, I'm almost set up over here. What about you two?
"Just a couple more minutes," A female voice said. Jack swore he heard the voice before.
"Okay, cool. Stay on the line. I'll tell you as soon as I'm ready," Hiccup said. He pointed to chair, "Get comfy Jack. You're on in a minute,"
Jack sat down and took a breath, suddenly nervous.
Elsa and her friends were eating lunch at their usual table when Hiro suddenly dropped down next to Elsa.
"Hey," He had his laptop opened and was typing quickly, he was wearing Bluetooth ear piece, "Just so you know you and you're boyfriend owe Tink and I big time for this,"
"What?" Elsa's eyes shot up, "What are you talking about?"
"You don't know what's happening?" Hiro asked.
"No,"
He smirked, "Then you're in for a surprise. Tinkerbell I'm in, you ready up there?" He said touching the ear piece.
"Up where? Where's Tink?" Anna asked.
"She's on the roof,"
"The roof?" Anna and Elsa asked at the same time.
"Elsa, what going on?" Rapunzel asked.
"I wish I knew,"
"Hiccup you ready?" Hiro asked into the ear peice.
"Hiccup!" Everyone else at the table exclaimed, then looked around to see if anyone overheard.
"You're talking to Hiccup!" Merida exclaimed in a whisper, "What's going on?"
"On god no," Elsa's eyes went round, "The plan Jack wouldn't tell me about. What is he going to do?"
Hiro smiled, "You'll see in a few seconds. Or should I say you'll hear," He stopped typing and leaned back from his computer.
"What is that su-"Merida was cut off by the PA crackling to life.
"Everything appears to be working on this end," Hiro said into his hear piece.
It dawned on Elsa what was about to happen a second before it did.
"Uh? Hello?" A hesitant voice crackled to life on the PA system "I hope you all can hear me. At this point I'm sure every one of you knows my name, Jack Frost,"
Every single eye in the room was suddenly on Elsa.
"What is he thinking?" Elsa looked at Hiro.
"Don't look at me. We were just asked to hack into the school's PA system and boost the wireless."
"I'm not anyone's favorite person right now. I'm sorry people think Elsa and I betrayed our schools by dating. I'm sorry for a lot of things. That I lied to my friends. That Elsa had to lie to hers and a couple other things that I won't get into because I'm pressed for time. But I'm not sorry for dating Elsa. Here's the deal. DreamWorks and Disney hate each other. I'm not going to lie, Disney I just don't like you,"
"He's going to get us all killed," Merida said.
"It really irks me that most of the time when we lose in a competition it's to Disney, and normally is by a small margin. I know it bugs Elsa when the reverse happens and Disney loses to us. So it amazes me that you could actually think that us dating each other means we no longer support our own schools. DreamWorks, I always give a hundred and ten percent, and I if don't believe that that's your problem. And Disney, have you meet Elsa? Have you seen how hard she works on her ice skating or skiing? Because if you had you'd wouldn't question for a second where Elsa's loyalties lie. If I give a hundred and ten percent Elsa gives two hundred percent, and that's on a bad day.
"I hope I managed to convince you that just because were dating means we've trying to sabotage our own schools. If I haven't, then there is nothing I can do about that. But if you have a problem with me, or Elsa don't take it out on our friends. They didn't ask us to start dating. But they saw past the rivalry and chose to stand by us, like real friends. They shouldn't have to be punished for that. You have a problem with us, come and give me hell about it. Don't hurt our friends. You're not going to change anything and you'll just be a bully. And aren't both our schools better than petty bullying?
"And one more thing, anyone who wants to come up to me and say I have to break up with her because she's a mouse, just don't. I don't care that she's a mouse. I wouldn't care if she was home schooled, or anything else becu…I have to go. The Principle is here. I hope I managed to change a few of your minds,"
The noise of the PA shut off and there was dead silence. Then a few people started yelling. Then more and more. Elsa grunted and asked Anna to help her stand.
"What are you doing?"
"Just help me on the table," She said. Anna helped her and Hiro even held out his hand to give her support as she stepped up on the table.
"HEY!" She yelled and there was silence. "And this point I don't what the school thinks about me. But know there are some of you who don't hate DreamWorks, not outside of school and school events anyway. You ever think that we have a lot in common with them. I'm not going to try to convince you to be friends with them. That's never going to happen. But could you at least respect my choice to spend my time outside how I choose. And leave my friends and sister out of it. I don't care what you say about me but I have a problem when you bring them into it, so just don't."
"Ms. Winters…"
Elsa froze at the gravelly voice and turned and tried to smile, "Ms. Roz,"
"Let's go little lady. Mr. Michel wants to talk to you."
"I guessed he would," Anna and Merida helped her down and Elsa walked out of the cafeteria. She was halfway to the doors when Mulan suddenly started clapping. Elsa stopped and looked back. Ralph stood and started clapping too and so did the others at his table. Periwinkle joined in, and her friends, and Hiro and his friends, and Meg, Wendy, Belle, Tiana, Walle and many many more. Not everyone was clapping, that was clear, but there were enough that it sounded like a proper applause. Roz turned her glare on them, "Alright, that's enough," and they stopped, "Keep walking Ms. Winters." Roz said and looked back at the student's "I'm watching you,"
After they left it took a while for conversations to resume. At Elsa's table there was dead silence.
"Okay…" Hiro got up, "It looks like his crazy idea has actually worked...more or less. My work is done. You're welcome," He left heading to his usual table.
The five of them looked at each other.
Anna shook her head, "Wait what?"
"That...that just happened," Merida said.
Four weeks later.
Elsa smiled as she entered Litwik's. She spotted the booth Jack was sitting at almost right way. She walked up behind him and covered his eyes. He laughed reaching up to hold her hands. He titled his head to look at her.
"Hey Princess,"
"Hey," She pecked his nose.
"How does it feel to have the cast off?"
"So good, you won't believe,"
Jack pulled her into the seat next to him. "Hi guys," She said to Tooth, Sandy, Bunny and North.
"Hi," Anna said brightly. She, Merida, Rapunzel, Flynn and Kristoff sat down. There a silence around the table.
"Okay," Elsa finally said, "You know you don't have to do this. You can all leave, we won't mind,"
"Actually I'd be very happy if you left Elsa and I alone," Jack said kissing her cheek. She giggled and pushed him away playfully. A few people at the table made raging noises.
"Please get a room," Merida said.
"I'd happily do that, but if we leave you alone you might kill each other," Jack said.
"We wouldn't," Anna said.
Elsa and Jack raised their eyebrows.
"It's weird sure," Anna said, "But we promised we'd all try to hang together at least once,"
"I'm starting to wonder why I agreed to this," Bunny said. Sandy jabbed him in the side.
"I agree with you," Flynn said. Rapunzel jabbed him.
"Uh…anyone what to play some air hockey?" Kristoff asked.
"I wouldn't mind," North said. He and Kristoff went over to the tables, Sandy and Flynn when with them. Tooth brought up a movie she'd just seen and the girls started talking about that.
Jack looked at his watch, "Five minutes and they're all still alive. No blood has been shed, it's better than I hoped for,"
Elsa rolled her eyes laughed. She kissed him softly.
Did their schools still hate each other? Yes. Did they get into trouble? Oh yes. Did their speeches convince everyone? No. But they'd convinced a lot of people. Most people realized Jack and Elsa were right about not having a real reason why they shouldn't date. It didn't change over night, and it was still changing. Sure there was still a comment or two thrown their way but nothing they couldn't brush off. Of course Disney and DreamWorks were still bitter rivals. In fact in a few days there was debate competition and turn out was expected to be just as big as a sporting event. Jack and Elsa even had a bet, whoever's school lose would have to pay for dinner at their next date.
Somehow they'd done the seemly impossible. They'd survived the worst their schools had to offer and their tale was just beginning.
That's it. It's over. The End.
