Percy awoke in a dream like state, his eyes taking in some familiar surroundings. He was in one of the fields just about a mile off from camp half-blood, underneath an old oak tree. His mind was hazy, like he'd just woken from a deep sleep. If we wasn't completely awake by the time he opened his eyes he was when he saw the scene before him.

About a hundred or so monsters were approaching, their hideous forms seeming to merge into a crowd of terror. An army, perhaps. Their opposition? A pair of young boys - they couldn't be any older than fourteen or fifteen.

The boys stood back to back, eying the creatures that they were about to face. Both clutched hardy weapons in their hands, so tightly that you could see the whites of their knuckles. They seemed so similar yet so different; they had the same nose; the same shape eyes and the same way of holding themselves - chin up defiantly against the monsters whom were fast approaching.

That's where the outward similarities mostly stopped.

The boy on the right, a blond, was taller than his companion. He had bright blue, intelligent eyes - something that reminded Percy of somebody he knew - and clutched a large sword in his hands. Though his features remained neutral as he studied the monsters before him you could read his fear through the way he help that blade. As if it could protect him from anything he faced. His free hand toyed with a set of knifes which were strapped over his chest over a shabby camp half blood t-shirt. It was ripped. Through the fragmented pieces of t-shirt you could see scratches, long and bloody.

The boy on the left was in a similar condition. His scratches were deeper, and his grey band top was cut into a near crop top, but he still flicked his mahogany hair out of his face as if to say 'Yes - I do rock this look'. His hair was slightly overgrown, constantly falling into his face. This was a definite contrast to the blonds relatively well kept hair. His pale green eyes narrowed in a mixture of annoyance and determination as he began to sway, perhaps from blood loss. Despite this he kept his hand tightly wrapped around his bow, an arrow already knocked into position.

Percy wanted to approach them, to brush their hair out of their eyes and tell them everything would be okay. That he would protect them better than a weapon ever could - whatever it'd take. But he couldn't move, locked in his place sitting on the roots of a tree underneath its cool shade. They were on their own.

The monsters were fast approaching now. Percy recognized every single one: the minotaur, the chimera and the empousa were just a few. They cackled down at the boys , making the blond stand a little smaller and the brunet stand even taller, defiantly looking each of them in the eye.

"What do we do?" The blond glanced behind his shoulder at the other boy.

"What do you think?" He never took his eyes away from the monsters and up to his partner. "We fight"

He blond took a deep breath and nodded, looking back to the monsters too and standing slightly taller. Percy could see his mind working. There was a moment of silence before he spoke again.

"We're going to die, aren't we?"

"Maybe." The other boy obviously wasn't up for talking while he was staring death in the eye.

The blond sighed and unsheathed two of his knives from his set and shoved them into his companions pockets. His face had hardened into a mask of grim acceptance and determination. He was ready to die if it was what he was meant to do to protect everybody else .
The other boy seemed surprised, looking down at the hilts which were poking out of his pockets. His green eyes softened. He began to take one from his pocket, letting the string of his bow go slack as he went to give it back.

"You don't need to -"

The knife was shoved back into his pocket again. The blond looked down into his eyes and smiled slightly.

"Yes I do - You need a short distance weapon too. If you'd have had one earlier you wouldn't have gotten so cut up by that cyclops." He referenced down to his gashes on his body. "If we're going to die today we both need to go down fighting. They die or we die dying, okay?"

The brunet nodded gravely and smirked.

"So you do care, thank you"

The blond chuckled and bumped shoulders with him. Though the first statement was jovial, the thank you was as genuine as anything. They both positioned themselves ready for battle.

The monsters squeals and shouts became progressively louder. They couldn't be far now - perhaps about fifty meters away.

"What are brothers for?" The blond replied, raising his sword. The brunet nodded and did the same with his bow.

Then they ran into the crowd, slashing and shooting whenever they could. And Percy could do nothing but shout as his world faded back to black and reality set back in.

********Line break********

"Percy!" A pair of arms held him down as he struggled against them. He opened his eyes and stared up into Apollos. "Calm down, okay?"

He felt his breathing become slowly even as Apollo released him. He looked around the room frantically, his eyes flickering to their 'normal' green to gold with every time he blinked. He gripped the sheets of the infirmary bed like a lifeline as took in his surroundings.

He was still in camp half blood, having been moved to the infirmary just like he was a normal kid here - not the new god.

"What happened? Where are they?" He demanded to everybody in the room. There were about five other people: Annabeth, Chiron, Grover, Apollo and Hermes. Every one of them seemed to be surprised at his abrupt rudeness.

"Who? Percy, what are you-"

"Where are they? The boys - they were fighting all of those monsters. Are they okay? Did they die? Tell me, Apollo or I swear to every god that I know of I will-"

Hermes smirked and joined Apollo at Percy's bedside. He tutted and grinned.

"Perseus I'm sure you've been told to never threaten a god, especially an Olympian. It can land you in some pretty sticky situations." He winked and grinned around the room at everybody's surprised faces. Well, all surprised apart from Apollo, who just seemed exasperated at his brother.

"Everybody I believe Percy just had the dream."

Somewhere deep inside his suit pockets George and Martha began to mutter. Chiron began to shift his hooves from side to side, cursing while Apollo sat up straight and grinned down at Percy.

"What's that?" Grover spoke hesitantly. Apollo clapped Grover's shoulder and laughed.

"That, my dear goat boy, was Percys first look of his first child, or in this case shall I say children"
He turned back to Percy and basically blinded him with his grin. Chiron and Grover made an odd hand gesture and closed their eyes while Annabeth just looked on.
"Congratulations - It's twins!"
