Kaoru's pov
It's been two weeks since I've returned from my trip to America. Naturally, I am grounded and mom won't let me out of her sight. I know she's happy that I'm back though. I'm hoping that mom will let me attend the host club meeting.
"Kaoru!" My mom's voices calls up the stairs.
"Yes mom?" I call back to her.
"Nevermind," She answers. I walk out of my room and down the stairs. Mom is sitting in the main room by the window.
"Mom, may I attend the host club today?" I ask her giving her my kindest smile. We were supposed to be entertaining girls today after school, but since I'm grounded I came right home today.
"I suppose time around your friends will do you well," She says after quite a long silence. I can tell she wants to say no, but she loves me too much to keep me cooped up in the house. Plus, with my friends I won't run off.
"Thanks mom!" I say leaning down and kissing her on the cheek. Before she can reply or change her mind I'm out the door and heading back to the school.
I enter the host club giving waves to my fellow hosts as I take my seat and my usual crowd surrounds me. I recognize all the girls except for two of them.
"Why hello there. I don't think we've met before," I say smiling at them and offering my signature wink. This makes the usuals go crazy.
"We're just here for Kaoru," One speaks up, but her tone sends chills down my spine. The other grins at me revealing two pointed canines.
"It seems our friend has been able to keep you from us, but not anymore. The secret is out. Everyone knows about you," The other speaks now narrowing her eyes at me. I gulp.
"Secret... What secret?" I ask them. In response they just giggle. My uneasiness grows. The other girls around me are staring holes into me. I almost never get at a loss of words like this.
"Excuse me princesses, may I speak with these two alone?" I ask and no sooner than I get the words out are the grils up and disappearing. At least that was easy.
"That you're Hikaur's brother," The girl on the left purred mischeviously.
"That you're somehow human," The one with sharp teeth spoke again in that nerve racking tone.
"O-of course I'm human," I tell them clearly baffled. My nervousness is starting to become evident.
"Pity Loraine, he's Hikaru's twin, but he obviously doesn't know the first thing about his brother," The girl on the left spoke again. At least now I had one name.
"Oh, Edna that's right. Poor Kaoru doesn't even know what's going to be done to him," Loraine said flashing those canines at me again.
"Be done to me?" I ask quietly, almost as if my voice is a mere weak echo.
"Well, Kaoru, your brother doesn't really talk about his family much, but you sure do smell good. Seeing Hikaru's face after we're done with you is going to hurt, but we'll get over it," Edna cuts in revealing a set of canines as well.
"You're vampires?" I ask them super quietly.
"Look, he is smart!" Loraine mock claps.
"And Hikaru?" I ask daring to meet Loraine's eye.
"Give this boy a prize," Edna said rolling her eyes. "Of course he is."
"You're going to kill me?" I ask squeezing my fists together.
"Now hon, it isn't personal. It's just that without you here Hikaru will resume his rightful spot on the council," Loraine said eying up my neck. I feel violated.
"I thought you two were smarter than that," A new voice speaks up as I find a new body next to me. I see a familiar head of ginger hair.
"Hikaru!" Edna exclaims speechless.
"Next time you want to cross the country to kill my brother don't tell Hannah," He said narrowing his eyes at them. "You will never lay a hand on my brother," He growled glaring at the two. I can tell he's not fond of them
"You will take your rightful place," Loraine growled before standing up and stalking out followed by Edna. Without thinking I throw my hands around Hikaru. This time he hugs me back, a real hug.
"Thank you," I tell him glad that he came back.
"Someone has to look out for you Kao. I used to and now I will again," Hikaru whispered in my ear.
"So you're staying?" I ask him hopes sky rocketing.
"I'm staying," He repeated breaking our hug and smiling at me. I look past Hikaru now to see that everyone is starting to notice us. I nudge Hikaru and nodd towards the entire host club behind us. "It's ok," He tells me as he turns to face my friends for the first time ever.
