Couple of Aces Chapter 4
The next day Daiki got up and had breakfast with his parents and tried to prepare himself to see Taiga. He knew he wasn't ready but he really didn't have a choice. His mother wasn't gonna let him stay home another day.
She even threatened to call the school to make sure he was there. Just in case he thought about skipping. She'd said she'd even drive around town till she found him and drag him back to school. On top of that Taiga had already called him 3 time this morning and left 2 messages. Daiki still hadn't checked or listened to any of them.
He hadn't slept well either he kept dreaming of Taiga making love to him. Feeling his lips on him, his body moving against his own. The sound of his voice, the way he laughed and the way he so exquisitely claimed him with his thick hard sex. He had woken up and found his own manhood erect and leaking. He tried his best to release his tension but it didn't go well his heart was to broken. When he came moaning Taiga's name he cried right after. He took a shower and went back to bed.
Daiki was embarrassed to be thinking of such things in front of his parents at the breakfast table, but he couldn't help it. He shifted in his seat trying to purge the thought from his mind but then he remembered the dream he had right before he'd gotten up to shower AGAIN and come down for breakfast. He was hoping for a dreamless sleep. He wasn't so lucky.
He dreamt he was at Taiga's house out side the window looking in. At first the bedroom where he and Taiga had made love so many times was empty but then the door would fly open and Taiga would come in with Tetsuya wrapped around him carrying him by his cute little ass. His little legs wrapped around Taiga's waist as they devoured each other. Hands roaming each others bodies. They were pressed so tightly together Daiki knew it was hard for them to breath. He'd felt that way with Taiga. It hurt to watch him do it with someone else.
In the dream Daiki would bang his fists on the window and scream bloody murder but they couldn't hear him. He even tried to shatter the glass, not caring if it cut him open and he bled out, but no matter what he did it wouldn't break. Daiki even tried to run away but every time he'd turn to run he'd end up right back in front of the window screaming and begging for them to stop. They never did. Finally the dream must have become too much for his soul to take so he woke up sweating through his sheets and panting. Daiki gripped his shirt and sobbed. It was just too much.
"Son...? Son...? Daiki?!"
Daiki finally looked up at his parents. Apparently they'd been speaking to him but he was lost in that horrible nightmare.
"Huh? What? Sorry Ma I didn't hear you."
"It's time for you to go son." She said softly.
"Uh...yeah...ok." He replied dazed.
Daiki grabbed his bag and made his way to the front door.
"Bye son." His father said giving his son a reassuring smile.
"Bye Dad."
Daiki closed the door as the brisk morning air hit his brown skin and sent chills down his spine. Daiki could feel his heart begin to beat erratically. He placed his head in his hands and shook his head, breathing heavily. He couldn't do it! He couldn't face Taiga! He wasn't ready, but he couldn't go back into the house. Daiki decided he'd make his way to school anyway and if he couldn't go in he'd come back home.
He walked to the bus stop just up the street and waited untill his bus came, it was an express so it didn't have as many stops and was more of a straight shot. Which was good cuz that meant he would likely get there before Taiga and he could flee or at least get to class before Taiga or anyone actually saw him.
Daiki boarded the bus paid his fair and took a seat in the middle of the bus by a window. He leant his head against the window and watched the city pass him by. It seemed like his eyes kept landing on happy couples and it made him smile because he really was happy for them. He remembered how it felt to be one half of a whole, but it also reminded him that his love was gone now. Daiki felt his eyes prick but he swore to himself that he would do his best not to cry.
Daiki had never been the type to break down and cry. He looked like a tough guy and in most cases he was. He was know for brushing things off and he used to think the world of himself... Well at least when it came to basketball but it still overflowed to other aspects of his life.
But being with Taiga had changed him. He felt weak and vulnerable. No one else made him feel this way. That was how Daiki knew that he had fallen hopelessly in love with him. He could function properly without him.
Daiki laughed at himself bitterly. As he looked out the window. He was forever changed because of Taiga and now he'd never have the chance to tell him. It didn't matter now maybe Tetsuya was what Taiga had always really wanted. Maybe he had just been spanning time with him. Daiki hoped his mother was right about the kiss, to be correct he really hadn't "seen" it but he was pretty sure he saw a blush on Kuroko's cheeks after the "kiss".
At the bus's first stop since Daiki had gotten on a few students had boarded. He was so lost in thought he didn't even noticed that one of them had stopped in front of him.
"Heyyy Daiki! Where you been man!?
Daiki jumped and turned his head to see Kei Shima. He was one of his classmates he was a nice guy but Daiki wasn't really in the mood for chit chat.
"Oh hey Kei." Daiki replied.
"Uh...hey...um have you been sick or something." He questioned sitting in front of Daiki.
"Huh? Sick? Uh...yeah."
Kei looked at Daiki not fully believing the sick bit, but he didn't push it.
"Taiga's been looking for you...Come to think of it he's been asking everybody about you. You guys were so tight you know? Why didn't he know you were sick? Did you guys fight or something?"
Daiki eyes cut to Kei as soon as he mentioned Taiga's name, and he just stared at him silently.
"Uhhhh...Sorry man, you know I got a big mouth, I'll leave you alone."
With that Kei turned in his seat and left Daiki alone for the rest of the ride.
When they finally got to school Kei waved a goodbye to Daiki as he stood on the curb contemplating.
"See ya later Daiki!"
"Yeah see ya."
It was still pretty early so there wasn't really anyone walking around the school yet. Daiki took a deep breath and prayed he wouldn't run into Taiga at least not for another week. He walked into the empty school and went to his first period class.
Daiki pulled his iPod out of his duffle bag to listen too while he waited for class to start. It seemed like a good idea at first but all the songs reminded him of Taiga. He considered going to the gym to shoot some hoops but the chance that Taiga might be there got that idea vetoed. So he sat with his head on his desk, and soon found himself asleep.
"-Aiki...? Aomine Daiki!"
Daiki's head sprung up from his desk.
"Present!" He yelped sleepily.
The whole class giggled at his sleepy face and response.
"I'm glad to see that you are Mr. Aomine. Welcome back." Mrs. Yano replied smiling.
Daiki hadn't even notice everyone come in. He wiped his hand over his face trying to fully wake. Even through his sleepy gaze he could see people staring at him and whispering about him. Kei Shima must have been telling the truth when he said Taiga had been asking around about him.
He'd skipped classes before and never gotten a response like this. Though it had been a long time since he'd done such a thing. Taiga lived so close to the school and he never missed and they were always together so he didn't feel the need to skip. Besides Taiga was worse then his mother he would have never let him skip.
They seemed to be smart enough to know not to approach him or question him about it, just not smart enough to not talk about it in front of him.
Daiki rolled his eyes and did his best to ignore them. He had more important rings to worry about. Like how to make sure he didn't see Taiga at lunch. By that time Taiga would surely know he was at school.
Daiki figured he'd just leave his class before lunch a little early by saying he had to go to the restroom and leave campus to eat. Then come back to his next period a little late.
The day went on and Daiki did just as he planed he had a teriyaki burger for lunch then walked around till it was time to go to his class. He arrived 15 minutes late just in case Taiga tried to wait for him at his class. By the time he settled into class multiple people had come to him. Taiga had told them he needed to speak with the bluenette, and that it was urgent. Daiki's pulse thrummed erratically he didn't want to see him yet. So he calmly acknowledged them then moved on. He was sure he was gonna have to leave his last period early and run to escape the rowdy red head.
It was really strange though The Daiki knew he wasn't ready to see Taiga but for some reason he really wanted to see Kuroko. He didn't know why yet but he knew that's what he had to to do. He decided to go to Tetsuya's school after class since he was leaving early he'd probably catch him just before he left the school grounds.
Daiki excused himself from class early. He'd left his duffle bag in his locker knowing it would be strange to say he was going to the restroom with it. He went to his locker and grabbed his bag and walked out of the front entrance of the school.
He jumped on a bus and took it to Tetsuya's school trying to figure out what he would say or do. It was a short ride only about 10 minutes long. He'd left class about 15 minutes early so he got there with about 5 minutes to spare. He walked up to the main entrance and waited. People stared at him knowing him from past games. Whispering as they passed. Daiki was too nervous to care about them. He just wanted to talk to Tetsuya.
He stood waiting, staring at the ground when suddenly he saw aqua hair pass by him.
"Kuroko-Kun?"
Tetsuya turned and his eye widened slightly with recognition.
"Hello Aomine..."
Daiki's heart pounded fiercely as he shifted foot to foot. He couldn't believe that the aqua eyed boy had responded so calmly.
"Uh...can I speak with you for a moment...privately?"
Kuroko looked at him calmly and nodded. He walked back into the school and lead Daiki to an empty class room. The denim eyed boy was surprised the tiny ball player went with him so willing. Though Daiki had no plan to attack him or hurt him. He just wanted to talk.
Just as they walked in Kuroko got a text he looked at it casually and answered it then looked up at the bluenette impassively.
"You wanted to talk to me?"
Daiki had know the little teen to be very straight forward and a little cold but he had so many emotions tied into what he had to say that he was a little hurt that he spoke so curtly.
"I saw you with Taiga...the other day...kissing..." Daiki whispered.
Kuroko's eyes got wide again then he rubbed his forehead with his small hands.
"Aomine you need to talk to Tai-"
"P-please don't take him from me..." Daiki pleaded softly, staring into unwavering aqua orbs.
"Wait Aomine. You really need to speak with Taiga."
"I love him...I love him more then I could ever explain...but he seems to want you now...d-do you love him...too?"
Daiki's vision began to blur and he knew he was doing what he swore he would not do.
"Yes Aomine...I love him. All the same you need to speak with Taiga, not me...and now you'll get your opportunity... "
Daiki's heart sunk and his hands gripped his bag tighter shaking. He was foolish to think this would work but, what else could he do.
As the bluenette began to turn and leave the classroom door opened.
"Tetsu I got your text! Wha-...Daiki?!"
