Epilogue
Lientov slowly raised his head and opened his eyes, only to shut them rapidly as bright sunlight pierced them.
He carefully opened them again and saw before him a vast ocean dotted with spires of rock as a sea breeze pushed white clouds across a clear blue sky. Confusion dominated his mind as the last thing he remembered was seeing the Enterprise as he was sucked into space out of his collapsing space station. He slowly stood thoughts whirling in his mind, was this what came after death? Had he merely been dreaming before? Was all this real or just a fantasy which his dying mind had conjured up for him? If it was it was very realistic, he could feel the breeze, smell the salty sea and taste the crisp air.
As these thoughts continued in his head dark clouds began to cover the sky as a storm began to form. Lightning flashed in the gathering gloom and thunder rumbled ominously and a loud roar sounded just as the rain began to pour down. Lientov jumped back as a dark shape landed right in front of him. It gave a low growl and Lientov straightened his posture and calmed his fear at this obvious intimidation technique. The form then took a step back from the criminal mastermind before raising what Lientov guessed what was its head skyward. Instantly, as if it had been summoned by the mysterious creature, lightning shot down from the clouds above and struck directly upon the beast. As electricity crackled all around its light revealed the mysterious creature and there was only one name Lientov could call the mighty beast before him.
