"I don't want to answer it" I admit, looking at Finn. He shakes his head. "So don't" he says. "Even though we're not doing anything wrong. If you don't want to speak to him you don't have to." I nod, watching as the phone vibrates angrily around the table, then stops as the call goes to voicemail. I clear the missed call and pick my burger back up, suddenly not hungry any more. "What time is your flight?" Finn asks softly. I shrug dropping the burger again. "Haven't actually got one" I admit. "Just gonna rock up at the airport and bribe my way onto a flight." He laughs. "You're so organised" he says smiling. I nod. "Only now you realise that?" I ask. He smiles. "Wanna leave?" he asks. I nod. I can't possibly eat anymore. "I'm gonna go freshen up first" I say. He nods and calls for the bill as I make my way to the bathroom.
When I walk back out he's on my phone. "No Lex" he says. "There's nothing going on, she just needs a friend right now that's all. Yes, that's all I am, just a friend. Yes, it's gonna stay that way, she's married, I'm not that kinda guy, I swear." I smile. Lex has always got my back. "Here she is" he says quickly before handing me the phone. "The hell are you doing?" Lex hisses straight away. "I've just had Jon crying on the phone saying you've run off with Balor! The fuck is going on?" "Woah!" I say. "Crying?" "Yes, fucking crying!" she says. "The guys in pieces Lora! Totally fucking broken! He said that you told him you were flying home to me but people have been sending him pictures of you and Balor getting cosy in some diner." "Cosy" I scoff. "Bit too public in here to get cosy, Lex. But yeah, Finn got me a burger before we go to the airport. And yes, I'm coming home." "No you're fucking not" she says harshly. "You're not running from your problems any more Lora. No way. You stay there and work this out. That guy fucking adores you..." "Yeah!" I laugh. "Adores me so much he believed I was cheating! You know what Lex, fuck him. And fuck you too!" I hang up and throw the phone onto the table.
"Well that went well" Finn says, smirking at me. I look up at him, about to yell some more, but something in the way he looks makes me laugh. And laugh hard. "Get me away from here Finn" I say finally. He nods and stands up, helping me up and out of the diner. "You ok?" he asks quietly as we get in the car. I nod. "Fine" I say smiling. "Just need to work out where I'm going from here, since apparently I'm not allowed to go home." He frowns. "Lex banned me" I say. "Told me I need to work through my problems, not run away from them." He nods. "She does have a point Lora" he says. "You do seem to run a hell of a lot." "Well I do seem to have a hell of a lot of problems!" I laugh. He starts the car and pulls out of the parking lot. "Where are you going?" I ask. "Airport" he says. "Getting you on a flight to Vegas. One way. For once, you're gonna run to your problem, not away from him, I mean, it."
I endure the drive in silence, finally speaking as Finn pulls into the drop off bay at the airport. "I can't believe you're making me do this" I say quietly. He pauses, hand on the door handle. "Honestly" he says. "Neither can I." I watch as he gets out of the car slowly, walking around and helping me out before getting my bag out. He holds my hand as we walk into the airport. He makes me wait while he books me on a flight, walking back to me slowly. "Here" he says quietly, handing me my ticket. "Go. Please Lor." I stand up and take it from him, smiling as he hugs me tightly. "I'm doing this for your own good" he whispers in my ear. "One day you'll thank me. Might not be tomorrow, or the next day, but one day. I promise you." I nod, blinking back tears. "I know" I whisper. "And you're still a dumbass." He chuckles softly. "Believe me" he whispers. "I know that too." We listen as my flight is called. "Go on" he whispers. "I'll see you on Monday. And I'm only at the end of the phone if you need to bitch in the meantime." I kiss his cheek, grab my bag and walk off without looking back.
Notifications have spammed my phone by the time I'm in my seat. There were more fans than we thought at the airport. A text comes through from Jon. "Don't get on that plane" I read. "I'm fucking begging you now Lor, I need you here. I love you." I ignore it and turn my phone off, putting it in my bag until we land. The flight isn't full and nobody sits next to me, giving me time alone with my thoughts. The flight passes in a blur and soon it's time to get off the plane and go and face my problem head on.
