104 Stories of the 104th

A/N: Hey-yo. Been awhile. Here ya go. It'll be a little bit ooc for Levi, but I have a headcanon that Levi is super gentle and sweet when it comes to Hanji's emotional state in private.

Disclaimer: I don't own anything. They are Isayama's beautiful characters.

Chapter 18-LeviHan-Thoughts

Levi rolled over in his bed, trying to find that perfect spot so he could finally catch some sleep…or at least that's what he was telling himself why he couldn't sleep. The truth was that every time he closed his eyes, one of the brats would pop in his head and all he could see was their pained, horrified faces. It had been a rough mission this past one, but no deaths in his squad. That being said, almost everyone was hurt in one way or another. Squad Hanji had it worse though. Two rookies' dead, while Hanji escaped only with a broken wrist. That wasn't the problem.

She hadn't even acknowledged Levi when he approached her after the mission to check up on her. She just walked by, head hung low, avoiding his eyes. Hanji had seen Levi break only twice in the time they'd known each other, once on his first expedition and the second, a way more quiet one, after the Female Titan's failed capture, but she had never broken down in front of him outside of losing a Titan or missing test papers. Those only lasted minutes though. It scared Levi to death that she had perhaps finally hit her wall.

Alright. Fuck it, Levi thought to himself as he sat up and got out of bed. Finding a clean button up white shirt and a pair of pants, Levi dressed himself. Just because they were in the Castle Headquarters didn't mean it wasn't a cold winter, but he didn't bother with the Scouting Legion jacket.

Opening the door and peering out, Levi saw no one was around. Probably dead asleep, like he should be. Levi walked quietly over to Hanji's door and knocked. No answer.

Tch. I know it's late, but I know you're not asleep. Plus you left the fucking torch on. Levi knocked again, still with no answer. With a sigh, Levi pushed the door open. In all his years of training and going on expeditions he thought nothing could shock or petrify him anymore. He was dead wrong.

Hanji was sitting up in her bed, knees tucked to her chest and hand covering her mouth, sobbing. Her eyes were fixed on Levi, screaming with pain and lose. They were the eyes of someone that just couldn't hold it in anymore.

"Hanji…" Levi breathed out and took a step closer. Hanji slid towards the wall, furthering herself from Levi, and removed her hand.

She mouthed "Stay away," over and over again, with more and more emotion in her face each time, but no audible noise coming forth. Levi froze in his tracks, wide eyed in shock.

"Please…" Hanji finally was able to whisper.

"Please what, Hanji?" Levi questioned, his tone light, almost gentle.

"I don't want…hic*…you to see me…hic*…like this." Hanji managed to get out.

"Hanji. Please. Talk to me. I can't see you suffer like this. Not alone." Levi whispered back, taking a couple steps forward. Hanji stared at the shorter man, inching herself further into the corner, away from Levi. Levi took a couple more steps and extended a hand, causing Hanji to throw her pillow at him. It plopped on the ground with a small puff. Taking three more steps, Levi was at her bed, hand extended. Now it was Hanji's turn to be surprised. Levi's eyes were filled with concern and a little bit of distress. Hanji sighed and took a couple calming breaths.

"You look even younger when you're worried," Hanji said as she took Levi's offered hand. "It's kind of cute too."

"Not the time for jokes. You're not going to be able to distract me so easily, shitty-glasses," Levi retorted quietly. He silently cursed himself for using such a rude nickname at time like this. Much to his surprise Hanji snorted with a small, quiet laugh.

"Oh, please. When do I ever get serious outside of my studies? I'm Zoe Hanji for shit's sake…this doesn't happen to me"

"It happens to everyone, eventually. Everyone has a breaking point. You finally hit yours. That's all," Levi whispered in the gentlest tone he could muster, giving her hand a squeeze. Hanji snorted again, pulling him onto her bed.

"Want to make me feel better and get some sleep? Shut up and hold me tonight." Hanji breathed as she wiped away a couple of tears and pressing her head into the golden soldier's chest.

"Fine. But it's going to cost you." Levi sighed, removing his shirt.

"Oh? And what's that?" Hanji hummed.

Levi, tilted her chin up and gentle pressed his lips to hers. Instead of kissing him back immediately, Levi felt Hanji's lips turn up into a smile. After a second of two, she pressed back, locking lips for the first time. Finally, Levi pulled away to look her in the eyes.

"That's a price I'm willing to pay, short-shit," Hanji chuckled.

"Tch, I might steal a couple more then," Levi whispered as he leaned in again. This time Hanji pressed her finger to his lips.

"Levi…no more tonight, okay? I want to just lay here with you, in silence and drift into sleep…please," Hanji fired back, sadness filling her voice again.

"Of course, Hanji," Levi replied as they both laid down, Hanji laying her head on Levi's chest, curling up to him slightly.

"That's Shitty-Glasses to you, you midget," Hanji breathed out before letting sleep finally take her over.

A/N: It's been awhile, but now that I'm on summer break I should be able to put out a chapter or two a week. Requests are welcome! Any ship (SNK), any scenario, any time, anything! Just let me know please! Drop a review, I miss reading them!
