Candy x Neil
Summary: What if Candy never was an orphan? What if her family lived near the Pony home and that's the reason Candy got to know some of the kids there.
Disclaimer: I do not own Candy Candy or any of the characters (except my OC's). It all belongs to Kyoko Mizuki.
AN: I am really sorry that I've taken so long to update this story. I have not dropped it, I'm just very busy with work. I will try to update more in between (but can't promise anything).
Chapter 2: The Ardley family
The next morning Candy ran into Alissas room excited what the day might bring. For Alissa though it felt as if she had just gone to bed before being woken up by an overly excited little sister.
"Alissa are you awake?" Candy asked while jumping onto the bed.
"I'm up! I'm up" Alissa said pushing Candy from her.
"Mum said we have to get ready at once since we got an invitation to go visit the Ardley family today" Candy said with an exited voice.
"Alright I'll meet you at the carriage when I'm ready" Alissa said while looking in Candys direction. "By the way, are you going dressed like that?" Alissa said while pointing at the way Candy was dressed.
"NO! I'll go change too. Meet you at the carriage then" Candy said while running to her own room.
It didn't take long for Alissa to get dressed and on her way down the stairs Candy came running.
"What do you think they'll be like?" Candy asked with excitement while she passed her sister.
"I don't know. I do hope they are nice" Alissa said.
"I hope so too" Candy said as she and Alissa stepped out of the door on to the patio.
"There you two are" Mrs. White said as Candy and Alissa stepped outside. "We're going to be late if we don't leave soon" Mrs. White continued while urging Candy and Alissa towards their carriage.
"Where's dad?" Candy asked looking around.
"One of his co-workers came by earlier and picked him up. Seems like they needed his assistance with something" Mrs. White said.
"When will he be back?" Alissa asked sounding a little bit nervous.
"He'll come back home later this evening. Don't worry too much Aly, he'll be alright" Mrs. White said while giving Alissa a hug. "He is one of the best and they wouldn't have called for him for nothing after all, now let us go before they start to wonder if we'll show up or not" Mrs. White said entering the carriage after Candy and Alissa.
"Dad will be fine Aly" Candy said. "He's got a good team" Candy continued.
"I'm just worried that something will happen. Remember what happened two years ago?" Alissa said to Candy.
"How could I forget! But it seems that you are forgetting that the only reason he was shot was due to his colleague abandoning him, he's got a much better team these days. Right mother?" Candy said as their mother closed the door to the carriage.
"Candy is right Aly, your father would never put someone on his team that he didn't trust" their mother said. "We are ready to set off" Mrs. White said to the driver making it clear to Alissa and Candy that the conversation was over.
The journey to the Ardley family felt like it took forever. When they got there all they could do was to stare at the sight before them. Never have Candy or Alissa seen as many roses in one place as there seemed to be at the Ardley mansion.
"Wow, how pretty" Candy said to her mother and sister as they passed the roses. "I wonder if Annie would have liked these as well?" Candy said to her mother. "Do you think they'll let us have a few if we ask them nicely?" Candy asked as they stopped outside a big mansion.
"Maybe if you ask nicely, who knows?" Mrs. White said as the door was opened to let the three of them out.
