Chapter 14

"You mean to tell us that Tracey's been talking to Michael Burnow?" Lance said, his voice slightly raised in disbelief. "The guy we've been trying to find for the past week?"

"Yes," Bucky grumbled as he glared at the ground. His mind was still on the meeting and how he had watched Tracey get dragged away while he was unable to do anything to help.

"But why?" Fitz asked, looking at the soldier sympathetically. "Do you know why she was in um…um…in contact with him?"

"Why would she not tell any of us is the better question," Mack said, brow furrowed. "Its like Lance said, we've been looking for that guy for a week now and the entire time Tracey had been in contact with him. She didn't tell any of us."

"I think he threatened your mom," the super soldier answered, looking at Barry.

"What? He had our mom?" Barry asked, enraged. This Burnow man was not only threatening his sister, but his mom as well?

"No," Bucky said, shaking his head. "He didn't have your mom. From what I heard between him and Tracey, he used a threat on your mom to get Tracey to meet with him. He never had her."

"Thank God," Barry breathed. "She doesn't need to get involved."

"Which is probably why Tracey went to meet him," Coulson said, crossing his arms. "And clearly he wanted Tracey for something if he only contacted her. He had to have said some things to make her not come to any of us for help." He looked at Bucky. "How long has she been acting differently?"

"It happened the day after the super soldier attack," the metal armed man answered. "I caught Burnow's guy following her when she left. He went after her even after I tried to give him the bug. And after finding out that she's been talking to Burnow, I believe he needs her for something," he said in a growl, his hands clenching into fists.

Steve placed a hand on his best friend's shoulder, giving him a look that read 'Calm down'. He looked at the rest of the two teams. "Tracey's in danger. That's all we know. What we also know is that Burnow needs her for something which means that he will need her alive. She's safe for now. We need to come up with a plan to find her location."

"And that worked last time?" Clint scoffed. "We've been trying to find that guy's location this entire time. He figured out our attempt with the bug. What makes you think our next plan won't get us caught?"

"I hate to say this, but Clint is right," Jemma said, a solemn look on her features. "We have had no luck finding Burnow our one chance at locating him failed. Plus, there hasn't been any recent attacks from the super soldiers or sightings of that man who works for him."

"We have to try though," Sam said, a firm look on his face. "She's one of us and we don't leave anyone behind."

"Sam is right," Thor spoke up. "Tracey is our friend. Our family. We must not leave her behind and suffer at the hand of this man."

"Easier said than done," May said. "He's been a ghost this entire time."

"Doesn't mean we still can't try," Coulson said with a small smile. "We need to figure out if there's a way to track Tracey, not Burnow himself. He's a ghost like May said. But Tracey should be easier if we can get a trace on her."

"I saw Tracey take her phone with her," Bucky said slowly. "Is there a way to get a hold of her location through that?"

"Possibly," Skye said, tapping her fingers on the counter as she thought it over. "It's possible. As long as Burnow hasn't found it and destroyed it, we should be good."

"Then that's what we'll do. Skye we'll need you to trace any signal from Tracey's phone. Let us know if you get anything," Coulson said. "The rest of us..." He sighed, pursing his lips. "We just have to wait."

"That's it?" Bucky yelled. "We have to wait? Tracey's out there with the psycho ex-Hydra scientist and all we can do is wait?"

"Buck, we don't have any way of finding her other than having Skye track her," Steve said firmly. "You need to calm down. We will find her."

The dark haired super soldier glared up at his friend before storming away towards the elevator. He couldn't stand there anymore and listen to the plans any longer. He couldn't just sit around and wait while Tracey was in the hands of some psycho! He was furious! How could Steve expect him to stay calm when Tracey was in danger? How did any of them expect him to wait until they found a signal?

He growled as he stepped off the elevator and onto his and Tracey's floor. "Damnit!" he yelled, punching the wall next to him with his metal fist. He stared at the newly formed hole, still seething. He tried taking a few deep breathes to calm himself, but nothing. Nothing was going to calm him down until Tracey was back home safe and he got his hands on Burnow.

Tracey glared at the man from her seat at the desk. She leaned back in her seat and crossed her arms, raising a brow at the man. She watched as he brought over a laptop for her, giving her a kind smile. The hacker huffed and furrowed her brow further.

"Here you are, Miss Madison," the scientist said, patting the top of the device.

"So you just want me to get you some files from Hydra? That's it?" Tracey asked, continuing to glare at the man as he stood in front of her.

"Yes. They have some files that belong to me and I deserve to have them back. There's also another file that I want that I'd like to get my hands on," he said with a smirk.

The blonde woman's brow furrowed once more. "You have another plan you want to set up?"

"Yes. My super soldiers are just the beginning. I have another plan I want to enact that has a piece that I need that Hydra has in their possession. Well, has the information as to its whereabouts."

"I'm not going to help you with some other crazy plan of yours!" she said, standing up abruptly and pushing her chair back as she did. She slammed her hands on the desk and glared at the man. "I'm not getting involved. I'm not you. I'm not some ex-Hydra scientist who disappeared after my ideas were rejected by my other colleagues."

Michael's face scrunched up in anger and in one swift motion he went around the desk to the blonde's side and stood in front of her. He grabbed a hold of her throat, putting just enough pressure to cut a small bit of air off. He glared at her as she clawed at his hand and stared at him in horror.

"I'd watch what I'd say if I were you, Miss Madison," he hissed. "I'm a patient man, but one wrong move and I'll get rid of you. Do you hear me?" He let her go, watching as she dropped to the floor gasping as the air rushed into her lungs. He kneeled down at placed his hands on his knees as he sat on the balls of his feet. He kept up his glaring match with the woman as he grabbed a hold of her face in one hand. "Get to work."

Tracey's head was pushed to the side as he let her go. She glared at the ground as she waited for the man to leave the room, listening as he yelled over his shoulder he'd be back later to see her progress. Once she heard the door closed she took a deep breath, letting it out slowly. She took another as she sat up and leaned her back against the desk's leg.

This man was insane.

"Miss Madison, I hope you have made some progress!" Michael Burnow called out as he entered the small room. He smirked when he saw the blonde woman typing furiously away at her keyboard. The smirk grew when he saw her avoid any means of making eye contact with him. He approached her and stood behind her as she worked. "Excellent work, Miss Madison!" he cheered, smiling brightly as he stared at the words and numbers from different files fly across the screen. "Your skills are better than I thought. You'll be done before we know it." He made his way back to the door, leaving the woman back to her work.

"That depends on what you see 'done before we know it' as," she said, glaring at her screen.

Burnow's brow furrowed and he turned on his heel to glare at the female. "What do you mean?"

"These number of files you want will take some time to get," she answered, gesturing to the computer screen. "Especially since they are coming from Hydra. If it was anyone else, I'd have these extracted within the day."

"Then why can't you do the same with Hydra?" the dark haired man yelled, storming up to the front of the desk.

Tracey stayed calm, but kept her glare. "Because it is Hydra. They are known for high security, aren't they? They are taking extra precautions to keep their information safe since after their files were released onto the internet after the incident in DC."

"And you were the one who got them back for the Avengers, were you not?" he growled, fists clenching.

"I was, but I didn't get them done in one day," she spat. "It took a couple of weeks. They were extensive numbers which made it take a while longer. Especially since they took a file from my computer at one point." She leaned back and folded her arms. "The files you need may be fewer than their entire system, but since I'm taking it from them directly, it will take time."

"How long?"

"A week, maybe."

"A week?" Burnow screamed. "No, I need them now!"

"Well, I can't get them for you now. You're going to have to wait," she said, glowering at him as she went back to typing.

Burnow glared at the woman as she typed. This was couldn't be happening. His work was going to be delayed yet again?

He clenched his hands again and relaxed them after a moment. "Fine. But you better keep working and I expect those files by the end of the week. Early if possible. Do you understand?"

"Crystal," she said with an eye roll.

Burnow glared at her one more time before storming out of the room and slamming the door behind him. Tracey continued to stare and work at the computer in front of her for another few minutes. She glanced up at the door. He wasn't coming back. She quickly pulled her phone out of her pocket and smirked to herself.

"For a scientist, you're pretty stupid for not checking me for this," she said as she tapped her fingers across the screen.

"Guys!" Skye exclaimed, jumping up from her seat. She grabbed her laptop and rushed over to the living room where the rest of the teams were discussing plans for the future. "Look!" she said, placing her laptop onto the coffee table.

"What is it?" Trip asked, raising a brow as he stared at the screen. "If you don't recall, not all of us speak computer."

Skye rolled her eyes and pointed to the numbers on the screen. "Do you see that? That's a code. Tracey just sent me that."

"What?" Barry exclaimed, leaning forward in his seat to get a better look at the screen. "When?"

"Just now," the hacker said. She typed a few keys and opened up a new page on the computer. "It's an encrypted code. And if it has what I think it has," she said, pursing her lips as she continued to type, "she gave me her location."

"Are you serious?" Bobbi asked, looking at the screen. "Already? That was too fast!"

"Well, Bucky did say she had her phone with her," Mack said, scratching his chin. "I guess Burnow didn't get a hold of it."

"Or he's using her phone to send us a fake location," Natasha said, furrowing her brow. "It could be either one. We have to be careful."

"Doesn't matter," Bruce said. "We need to take the chance and go to that location."

"What's going on?" Coulson asked as he Steve and Bucky walked off the elevator.

"Where have you three been?" May asked, raising a brow.

"Nothing much," Coulson said with a small shake of the head. "We were just talking."

"Did you ask them for autographs?" Mack asked, a smirk on his face as he and the others chuckled.

"Ha ha, funny," Coulson said, walking up to the group. "No. Just talking about what Bucky heard Burnow said. Unfortunately, he didn't hear much."

"Well we have good news for your bad news," Trip said, a smile on his face. "Tracey messaged Skye a code."

"What?" Bucky exclaimed, rushing over to the hacker. His eyes looked at the computer screen. There were coordinates on it. "When did she send this?"

"About two minutes ago," Skye answered. "It appeared on my screen. We're not sure if its Tracey or Burnow setting up a fake location."

"Doesn't matter," Steve spoke up. "We'll go there and see if he's there. If we're lucky, it was Tracey who sent it."

"I'll go," Bucky said, standing up straight.

"I'll go with you," Barry said, standing up from his place.

"No you won't, new kid on the block," Tony said, shaking his head. "You're still hurt from the last two super soldier attacks you were in. You're going to be no help to Tracey if you fall dead."

Barry glared at Tony, but reluctantly sat back down, glaring at the ground in front of him. "Fine."

"I'll go with Bucky," Steve spoke up. "He and I are some of the few who can keep up with these super soldiers."

"So like fight fire with fire but with super soldier serum with super soldier serum?" Bruce said, a small smile tugging at the corner of his lips.

"Basically," Steve replied with a smirk.

"I'll go with you too," Coulson spoke up. "Someone from my team needs to go and get any information on this guy, if any possible, while we are there."

Steve nodded. "Alright." He turned to the rest of the teams. "The rest of you stay here. We're going to need you guys to watch out for any more attacks Burnow might send out."

"Let's get going," Bucky said, brow furrowed as he headed straight for the elevator. He didn't want to waste time waiting for the others to answer Steve or add anything else. He was going to get ready to leave. He was going to get Tracey back. He was going to get rid of Burnow. He was going to stop before he could take away anything else he worked on getting back in his life.

Done! Chapter 14 is done. Although I'm nervous that this seems rushed. Maybe it's me. Feel free to tell me if it is and I'll take the chapter down and rewrite it.
