*Jon's POV*
"I can't believe I made her go" I groan as Joe, Colby and I leave the locker room. Joe laughs, punching my arm lightly. "Ah man" he says. "Time with Layla will do her good. She's always with us. We don't talk girl talk. I guess there's a lot she doesn't say around us, like stuff about Renee..." "Don't even mention her name" I growl. Joe grins then freezes. I look at him and then at what stopped him. "Layla?" I ask. She grins at me. "Hey Ambrose" she says. "Where's that wife of yours? The car is here, I'm just waiting on her." I frown at her. "She was waiting for you in the car" I say. "I walked her there myself. Say, about half an hour ago guys?" Colby nods. "She showed off all the way there" he says. I nod. "That's impossible Jon" Layla says. "The car got here five minutes ago. Traffic downtown is a nightmare. He got stuck in traffic, was late getting here..." "Back the fuck up Layla" I say, all my senses suddenly on full alert. "You're saying that the car I put my wife in to go out with you was the wrong fucking car? Where the fuck is my wife?" "Hunter" Joe says, grabbing my arm. "We need to get to Hunter. Now Jon! He'll have the security tapes!" Fuck, he's right. I shake his arm off me and run full pelt down the corridor to Hunter's office. I don't knock. Fuck that, it takes too long. I burst in, apologising to Stephanie and Vince before attempting to blurt out what's happened. But my voice doesn't work. And I can't see. And the room is spinning. I collapse on the floor in a heap of tears, sobbing and shaking as they watch me.
"Reigns?" Hunter asks as Joe and Colby reach the office. "What's happened to him?" "We need the security guys" Colby says quickly. "And the tapes. Lora's been taken." "What?" Vince yells. "How the hell did this happen?" "She was going out with Layla" Colby explains as Hunter gets on the phone to the security desk. "Jon walked her to what they thought was the car Layla had arranged, but that car was delayed. We don't know where she is Sir." Vince nods as Steph kneels beside me on the floor. "Jon" she says softly. "Jon, look at me. Focus. That's right. Hey. Ok, sit up for me. Jon, we're gonna need every little detail you can give us about what happened ok?" I nod, sitting up next to her. She wraps her arms around me as I sob again. "I made her go Steph" I sob. "She wanted to stay with me and I made her go. I made her get in that car..." "Blaming yourself isn't going to help Jon" Hunter says, kneeling next to us. "Security are on their way with the tapes. We'll find them. I promise you this, we're gonna get those bastards." I nod weakly. I don't know what else to do. It seems to take forever until the door bursts open and the head of security is standing there. The people behind him surprise me. Randy. Batista. Big Show. Kane. Summer. AJ. They all look at me warily before walking in. I pounce on Summer. I can't help it. "If I find out this has anything to do with Renee or you..." I yell. Hunter drags me off her. "This isn't helping, Jon" he warns, sitting me down. "Lora doesn't need this." I nod. He's right. This is time wasting. "I just, we just all came to see if we can help" Summer says quietly. Hunter nods. "I'm gonna need you guys to give statements" he says. "Anything suspicious you remember, anyone strange hanging around who shouldn't be, we need to know about it now." They all nod and head off with some of the security guys to give statements.
"I saw him Hunter" I say. "The driver, I saw... That's the bastard!" The security tapes have picked him up. The head of security looks at me quickly. "You sure Ambrose?" he asks. "Like I could forget the bastard who kidnapped my wife!" I spit. "That's him Hunter! I swear that's him!" "Ok Jon, ok" Steph says soothingly. "What about Lora's phone? Does she have it?" I groan and shake my head. "It died" I say. "She was going to use Layla's to call me when she was on her way back to the hotel." Steph nods slowly, looking at the security guy and shaking her head. I get it. That's one avenue they can't use. Phone signal.
It seems like forever until Hunter speaks. Well, to me, anyway. He's been speaking to everyone else, organising searches, bringing up every image of the guy he can find on the tapes. But now, now he's talking to me. "Jon" he says, clearly trying to think of a good way to say what he has to say. "Just spit it out Hunter" I say. He nods. "Can you think of anyone who might want to hurt Lora?" he asks. "Or you?" I take a deep breath and shake my head. "Apart from the obvious one, no" I say. "I don't think Renee is capable of this though Hunter." He nods. "We need to speak to her" he says. "To rule her out. But I think you're right. Our next port of call is a press conference, get people's brains working, somebody must have seen something." I nod as a policeman walks in. That does it. I break down again. "Please find my wife" I beg. He nods. "Doing our best Sir" he assures me. I nod then frown. My phone has just vibrated in my pocket. I forgot it was there. I think about ignoring it, it's probably only somebody trying to be nosy anyway, but something makes me check it. I read the message and drop the phone.
"Jon?" Colby asks. "Jon, what's wrong?" He picks the phone up and yells. "She text him!" he yells, taking the phone to the policeman. No! "Give me my fucking phone!" I yell, snatching it back. "Sir" the policeman says. "We need to check it, to make sure..." "Make sure what?" I yell. "That it's from Lora? It's her fucking number, ok? She needs help! This might be the last time I ever hear from my wife. You're not taking my fucking phone!" I curl up on the floor, staring at the screen of my phone at Lora's last words to me. Help me.
