*Jon's POV*

Pacing the room is getting me nowhere, even though the amount of steps I've walked would probably have taken me halfway around the world by now. I stop and walk to the window, leaning on the frame as I watch the world go about it's business, completely unaware that my world has broken. The policeman's radio crackles and a woman speaks clearly. I pick up a few words. "Tell him we've got her, and she's awake and asking for him." That's it, that's all I need. I rush across and snatch the radio out of his hands. "How the fuck do I work this thing?" I yell, watching as he pushes a button. "Lora?" I say. "Lora, you hang in there, I'm gonna see you soon. I love you so much!" I hand the radio back as the woman speaks again. "Mr Good" she says. "She's too weak to speak right now, but not too weak to smile. We're gonna get her to the hospital. See you there." I look at Joe and Colby, the smiles spreading across their faces as I run to them. "They got her guys!" I yell, launching myself at them. "They got her!"

"Ambrose!" the press yell as we get into the lobby. "Any new developments?" "They've got her" I say, the smile on my face making it hard to talk. "She's weak, but they've got her. I don't know any more yet, but please, give us space to get through this?" More questions are yelled but I just push my way through them with the help of the police. Don't these people understand I need to get to my wife? I'm herded into the back of a police car and straight away it pulls off into the traffic, sirens blaring. I keep my head down but I can't help the smile spreading across my face. I'm gonna see my Lora for the first time in four days.

As soon as we get to the hospital I want to get out of the car, but have to wait for the door to be opened for me. I push past the officer and run into the hospital, yelling Lora's name as soon as I get I to reception. "Lora Good!" I yell. "She was brought in by the police! Please, I'm her husband!" A nurse grabs my arm and leads me to a side room quickly. "We know who you are, Mr Good" she says quietly. "You need to keep your voice down though. We understand you want to get to Lora, and we'll take you to her just as soon as she's ready. She's just having some tests, we need to know what they gave her so we can reverse the effects. She's very weak, and very lucky to be here. I should warn you, she does have some facial injuries consistent with being hit, and quite hard too." I wince. The bastards hit my wife. They're gonna pay for this. The nurse puts her hand on my arm. "Sir" she says quietly. "We're gonna do everything we can for her, ok? Just wait in here until we're ready for you." I nod weakly and sit down just as Joe and Colby race into the room.

"Where is she?" Joe asks quickly. I shrug. "I don't know" I say, looking up at him with tears in my eyes. "They're still treating her for now. Guys, they, they hit her. I've been warned she has facial injuries. Those bastards hit my Lora!" Colby wraps his arms around me as sobs shake my body. Joe and Colby look at each other and I know what they're thinking. If all they did was hit her, she got lucky.

It seems to take an age before the nurse comes back. "She's ready" she says quietly. I stand up straight away. "Don't be alarmed by all the machines" she says as we walk down the corridor. "She's very dehydrated and we need to monitor her vitals to check we're treating her right." "Is she awake?" I ask quietly. The nurse shakes her head slowly. "We sedated her for now" she says. "She needs to sleep, properly sleep. But you can sit with her." I nod as she opens a door. The beeping of the machines hits me instantly. The figure in the bed though, that's not Lora. It can't be Lora. I look at the nurse and she nods. "Oh Lora" I whisper, rushing to her side and holding her hand. "What have those bastards done to you?" "I'll be around if you need anything" the nurse says. I nod and smile weakly as she walks out. I wait until the door closes before looking back at Lora. Black eyes. Split lip. Bruised cheek. They really did a job on her. She's still beautiful though, she looks so peaceful. "I love you" I whisper, holding her hand to my mouth and kissing it softly. "Everything is going to be ok Lora, I promise you. We're going to get through this. One day at a time, but we'll do it."
